I Am of Mixed Race 38ddd What Kind of Scaring Can I Expect?

Mixed race (black/white) used to be 185lbs,5ft 7in.Suffering from extreme back pain.Am now considering breast reduction after losing 10kl(about 20lbs)to help relieve back pain.

A: Everyone scars differently

I have operated on many African american pts for breast reductions surgery.  There is definitely a higher incidence of hypertrophic scarring in this patient population, but i would say that despite this the vast majority of breast reduction patients are happy to have had the surgery irregardless of the scars.  Especially given your severe back pain, it sounds like the sur very will be worth it for you. Good luck!

My Daughter is 18 Years Old and a Size 38H- Is She A Good Candidate For Reduction?

She is very frustrated with her breasts. She has really bad stretch marks on her breasts and has severly bad posture (humpback) as well as rashes and indentions in her shoulders from her breasts. She occasionally complains about her back hurting. Would she be a good candidate for a breast reduction? She wants to go to a 38C. She is 5 ft, 6 in and weights 170lbs and has maintained that weight for about 4 years now. She wants a breast reduction badly and I think she really needs it. HELP!

A: Breast Reduction Surgery? Sounds Like a Great Idea

Your description sounds like she would be a very good candidate.  Dpending on how dense her breast tissue is and how much of the breast volume is fat, she may or may not be a good candidate for liposuction only.  THis could be ascertained at the time of her consult.  Best of luck-

10+ lbs of Breast Tissue, Am I a Candidate to Reduce my F Cup to a C or D w/o Scars or Affecting Breast Feeding?

I am a 25 yr old woman with an average build. i'm not fat by any standard nor am i thin. i'm an active person. i have good muscular structure. i weigh about 145, i'm 5'1''. they say my BMI is 27.4. claiming i'm overweight??!!?? what isn't included is that i have a 36F breast size! i would like to have them reduced to a C or a D. but i don't want the unsightly scars or lose the ability to breast feed. my Dr. says i have about 10+ lbs of breast tissue. will a reduction help me?

A: Breast Reduction without Scars? From your description, it sounds impossible. You would likely need a lift and a reduction, with breast scars. Your breasts may be out of proportion to the rest of your body and throwing off your BMI calculation. Regards, Dr Delvecchio Bostonbreastcenter.com
