I've seen it advertised to have patients lie in the Trendelenburg position while administering Botox. Supposedly the blood flowing to the face which makes veins more prominent, in turn makes it easier for the surgeon to avoid them.
Do you think this position really makes any difference?
We were always taught to have patients sitting up. Even if you hit a vein, this should not be a big issue. All I can say, is go to a professional!!
I want to use botox injection to treat the very shallow horizontal forehead lines and the very deep frown lines between my eyebrows. I've heard that forehead lines injection run a bigger risk of eyelid drooping. Should I just treat the deep frown lines between my eyebrows to avoid eyelid drooping?
Get it done! YES that is a side effect but make sure you Go to a professional! Make sure it is either plastics or Derm--we have had much training and experience.
I've been getting 28 total units for forehead lines and crow's feet (no glabellar). I don't have a big problem with the glabellar area, but to save money, will I get a similar effect by having the glabellar injected and not the forehead?
No you will NOT save money. Injecting forehead alone requires less units. If the question was the other way around...you do save money by injecting the glabella if you are wanting glabella AND forehead, but not vice versa. Frequently, people want both. I usually inject glabella, which naturally gets some forehead, then have the patient come back in a week for touch up of the forehead (to save money).
