Am I An Ideal Candidate for Lipo or Tummy Tuck?

I am a 27 year old female. I am 5'7" and weigh 190. I use to weigh 250. I seem to have been at a plateau for the past 4 years and Im okay with that. But I have the ugly hanging pouch, and am only 30 lbs from my goal weight (I have very large breasts and thick thighs and butt so I know I will never be tiny.) Anyways, I just want my pouch gone and a flatter tummy. Am I a candidate for either procedure?

A: liposuction are Tommy tech? What is my answer? Help!

congratulations on your significant 60 pound weight loss! frequently we find a significant amount of skin laxity and a separation between the abdominal muscles with patients who have had a significant weight loss. If this is the case abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is probably ideal procedure. If your skin tone is reasonable and your muscle is in good shape in liposuction could very well be the answer. Seeking consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon would be the next logical step. Take care. Dr. Hunstad

Post Lipo Bulges- Will They Go Away With Time? (photo)

Can you tell me if the bulge on my left side will ever go away? I had lipo 10 weeks ago and this was present immediately after surgery. I have paid for additional endermologie treatments (12 total) and have not seen any improvement. I also see some surface irregularties under my belly button area along with dropped skin on the right side of my belly button. Normal??

A: What are these bulges after liposuction? Help!

At 10 weeks following surgery, the vast majority of the swelling should be resolved. If however there are firm areas they still can continue to improve over time. Having endermology treatmentsis a good thing and will help these results. The lower abdomen, unfortunately, is one of the most difficult areas to get perfectly smooth and even. Endermology can be effective and I congratulate you on using it. Occasionally a touchup liposuction is necessary. Also to consider would be to treat the residual areas of bulging, if they persist, with another modality such as  cool sculpting by Zeltique. Dr. Hunstad
