Can Botox Injections Leave Residue on Skin? Is This Risky?

Can Botox injections leave residue on skin, and can this be ingested accidentally (ie hands or showering)? How many units of Botox ingested are toxic?

A: Botox on skin

There should be no concern if some Botox got on your skin. The Botox for cosmetic use does not involve many units at all. Furthermore it is diluted prior to the injection so it is not potent. Any Botox that gets on the skin is wiped off and will not leave a toxic level on the surface.

Can Hair Transplants Look Natural? What Areas Can Be Used as Donor Hair?

Fine Hairs are needed at the sides of my forehead to make it appear that my forehead is less wide than it actually is. I prefer not to use the back of my scalp as the donor site. Are there any other candidates for this? Like maybe leg hair or even armpit hair?

A: Hair transplant can be Natural I agree with you that having hairs implanted on the side of your scalp should make your forehead seem less wide. However , as to where to get the grafts from, that can only be done in a consultation. My associate, Dr Pistone is a world renowned hair transplant surgeon whose work creates a natural hairline- not like the 'old doll transplants'. You can see the pictures on The attached link under hair transplants . We have 8 offices in the area so we can tell you in person the best donor areas. The areas you mentioned- leg and armpit - do not have the same texture and do not provide for appropriate hair density. The consultation is free for viewers of real self . Good luck !

How Long Will Partial Eyelid Droop from Botox Last? (photo)

I was given Botox injections on 1/26/12. 5 days later on 1/31/12 I noticed that my left eyelid was drooping. My brows are even, only the one eyelid is drooping down close to the top of the pupil. I was prescribed Apraclonidine .5. It took a few days to start working, but now right after I use the drops my eyes almost look even, though still not 100% normal. Can anyone tell me when I may notice a permanent improvement? It's been 12 days since my injections. I'm desperate!

A: botox eyelid droop

If the levator aponeurosis is affected by Botox being placed too close to the eyebrow in the middle of the eyebrow, it can take 12 to sixteen weeks to improve. The use of the eyedrops such as Iopidine, several times a day can help keep the eyelid up.  It should all go away in time.
