What Type of Facelift Will Best Address my Sagging Jowls Without Noticeable Scars?

Is 40 too young for a facelift? What treatment would be less radical, yet still effective for fleshy jowls?

A: Short Scar Facelift

In patients with limited jowls or skin laxity, short scar Facelift can easily correct the problem. the scar is placed just at the ear lobe and continues on to the crease of the back of the ear. The scar is very hard to see when performed correctly. In fact most face lift scars are hard to see when performed correctly so don't worry so much about the length of the scar if it gets you the results you desire. Because you are 40, I would think a short scar would be appropriate, Of course a full exam and discussion is needed before any decision is made.

Facelift for a Bald Person

Can a bald person have a facelift? Where will the scarring be?

A: Facelift in bald person

Yes, bald people can have facelifts. The only difference is that the scar that extends above the ear into the hairline may be visible, however, depending on the existing skin creases, this component of the incision may also be able to be hidden as well. The only way to tell more definitely is to go in for a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

SMAS vs Deep Tissue Suture Lift?

In your opinion, which Facelift is better? The SMAS or the deep tissue suture lift?

A: SMAS vs Deep Plane

It is not a queation of better or worse but rather surgeon preference and/or training. There are many different techniques when it comes to facelift surgery but all basically do two things; remove excess skin and lift droopy muscle. Patients should not get caught up with the specific facelift techniques but rather focus on long-term consistent good results.

Ask your surgeon for pictures as well as phone numbers of past patients. Your research into quality results is far more important than finding out what specific technique he or she uses.

Good luck!
