Do I Need Someone to Stay with Me After Eyelid Surgery? I'm 70 and Live Alone.

live a lone and in my 70's and need upper eyelid surgery to improve vision.

A: Home care after eye surgery.

Thank you for your question.  I will join the chorus here and agree with the other plastic surgeons.  It is in your best interest to have someone with you for that first night after surgery.

 Best of luck.

Serious Water Retention and Cellulite 1 Year After Liposuction, What Can I Do?

Hello, I was a slim fashion model of 5'9, 130 pounds who had liposuccion done for the purpose of Adistem Stem Cell therapy for Breast Enhancement. Liposuccion was done to me Jan 2011 on my abdomen, butt, legs, thighs. I received the manual liposuccion with microcannulas. 1 year later, I am experiencing massive amount of cellulite that i didn't have before and swelling over the pubic area (similiar to the post surgery). I lost skin elasticity.I am heavily distressed.I am open to all suggestions.

A: Serious Water Retention and Cellulite 1 Year After Liposuction, What Can I Do?

Thank you for your question.  There appear to be at least two questions here.

The first is "serious water retention."  I am not quite sure what you mean by this but if you are truly retaining water then you need to be assessed by your internal medicine doctor. This is not due to  your previous surgery.

The second question of "massive amount of cellulite" and "lost skin elasticity" could be due to a number of different things: your age, weight fluctuation, overly aggressive liposuction, etc.

I would strongly suggest that you see a board certified plastic surgeon who, after talking to and examining  you,  would be in a much better position to discuss your concerns and give you some suggestions.

What Can Be Done For My Nose To Be Straight? (photo)

What type of nose do i have? what causes it to be in this shape? What has to be done for it to become straight? Thanks

A: What can be done to make my nose straight?

Thank you for your question and photo.

Judging from the one side view photo it would appear that you have a small hump on your nose.  It is difficult to give you a good answer with just one photo that does not reveal the rest of your face.  It is very important to have a nose that fits the rest of your face.  You could ether have the small hump removed or  you could have the hump "hidden" by filling the area above the hump either temporarily using fillers or permanently with a cartilage graft. Please see ether a board certified plastic surgeon or a facial plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

Best of luck,
