I am incredibly pleased with the result and overall experience I had with Dr. Fisher and her team. I am 26 years old and never thought I would have a breast reduction at my age as it seems less common. The usual concerns crossed my mind and have kept me from having surgery all this time, but I am relieved and SO pleased to have gone through with the surgery and to have it done by Dr. Fisher. I also have to mention, this was the first surgery of any kind I ever had and the whole experience went very well. She has done an amazing job from the very start. From explaining, reassuring, and addressing all my concerns clearly, to achieving an absolutely beautiful result. Everyone who has seen me so far is amazed with the result and I could not be happier and more comfortable with myself. So grateful! From pre-op through recovery, Dr. Fisher has been on top of everything and available whenever I had a question or concern. She was easy to contact and demonstrated care for me as a patient. She fit me in her schedule whenever I needed to see her and never made me feel uncomfortable. She gave detailed instructions for me to follow and do my part at home in order to achieve the best result possible following surgery. This surgery was was covered by insurance but knowing appearance was a major concern for me, Dr. Fisher also prioritized making them look as perfect as possible. About 6 weeks post op, I was able to take the tape off and the scars are so thin and are already fading. I am amazed by the skill Dr. Fisher has and so grateful with how careful and meticulous she was when performing this procedure on me. Her team was just as amazing, they were always easy to reach and always got back to me within a reasonable time to answer any question I had. I would highly recommend Dr. Fisher to anyone considering a breast reduction.
I met with several surgeons, all qualified board certified plastic surgeon's most with a better pedigree of academic credentials than Dr. Fisher. However, Dr. Fisher took added time and gave me the confidence I needed to perform the bodytite & vaser lipo. First let me start that as a child I had a traumatic and emotionally scaring procedure going under. I was most concerned about general anesthesia and in consultation with others they simply waived it off stating that anesthesia has come a long way since my childhood. Dr. Fisher, like others, wanted to perform the procedure under general but after understanding my reluctance she agreed to discuss with the anesthesiologist (Dr. Sun) and we came up with a plan. That showed a remarkable amount of empathy. Day of Procedure: The procedure went smoothly, I have very limited recollection of it but most of the time I was awake and could talk. I asked for breaks and Dr. Fisher gave me some time. She estimated 4-5 hours for the procedure and it took 6 hours (likely because she had to go slower with me). After the procedure I was discharged about 45 mins later (after I could urinate). I went home and felt incredibly sore when I try to sit up/down. Other than that there really isn't any pain, but wasn't in any condition to do much other than sit in front of TV or in bed. A total of 2.8 liters was removed. I did feel very light headed when standing (fainted once). Took norco and valium at night and went to sleep. Pain level significant 8-9 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 2-3 when sitting or in bed. That night Dr. Fisher followed up with both me and my spouse to make sure everything is all good! Day 1 (after procedure): Swelling is beginning to set in. Can walk much better today. Pain level significant 8 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 2-3 when sitting or in bed. My garment is annoying - but i feel like it's a present just waiting to be opened. Very optimistic about the results and excited to see the new me. I will share pics on weekly basis. Why Bet on Dr. Orna Fisher? Her empathic virtuosity, artistic vision, perfectionist profile and technical accuracy to set expectations set her apart from the vast majority of doctors that I've interacted with. She is a "make-it-happen" person and unlike many brilliant surgeons, really easy to work with, optimistic and generous with her time. What's the bottom line? I'm sharing this without actually seeing my results yet, but I had the privilege of working with many senior industry leaders and learned to identify the qualities that set people apart. I couldn't find another surgeon who would actually get me through the procedure and Dr. Fisher has. Of course the proof will be in the pics and I will gladly share those, but in the interim I felt compelled to give her my highest recommendation! Updated on 11 Mar 2019: Day 2 (after procedure): More Swelling. Can walk much better today but still can't stand perfectly straight up. Pain level moderate 6 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 2 when sitting or in bed. Down to 1/2 a norco and 1-2 tylenol every 5-6 hours. Went to the office for a couple hours and then called it a day (hey i got to go outside) Day 3: Swelling, Swelling + more Swelling. Read up about inflammation, edema... A bit surprised by the shear volume. Scale is +4.5-5lbs from before surgery, no pants fit except sweatpants. Pain level moderate 4 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 1 when sitting or in bed. Today I can get out of bed by myself and stand up from a seated position. Down to just tylenol. Went for a 1.5 mile walk today and doing ok. Day 4: Added lipo foam in my compression garment - oh what a joy... Scale is +4 lbs from before surgery. Pain level moderate 4 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 1 when sitting or in bed. I have no drains and the vaser lipo technique was used. From what i've read that seems to be the technique that causes the most edema. Dr Fisher doesn't want me to bring the swelling down, except through natural process. I'm in this for the long haul. Estimated 3-4 weeks before any pants I have fit. Down to just tylenol. Went for a 1.5 mile walk today and doing ok. Day 5: Went to work today, no tylenol or any other drugs... Scale is +2.5 lbs from before surgery (my nutrition is excellent - loads of lean protein, moderate complex carbs and very low in fat). I think swelling has peaked and perhaps deflated in some spots. Swelling moved south in to my groin (enough, i'm not going to talk about that - i have to draw the line somewhere). Pain level moderate 2 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 0 when sitting or in bed occasionally have a jolt here and there. Note to self: Don't laugh - it hurts. Went for a 2.4 mile walk today. Updated on 13 Mar 2019: Day 6: Scale is +1.5 lbs from before surgery. Swelling certainly has peaked and is coming down. Pain level mild 1 out of 10 when trying to stand or sit. Pain level 0 when sitting or in bed occasionally have a jolt here and there. Walked 3 miles today. CAN'T wait for edema to subside. Day 7: Scale is +1.3 lbs from before surgery. Swelling continues to come down. Today I can fit in my fat jeans. New kind of pain... itching sensation. feels like ants crawling on skin. no one minute of it hurts, but it builds!!! . Walked 3.5 miles today. Tomorrow have the follow up and then I can take a shower. CAN'T WAIT to take a shower! I still have no idea what ultimately i will look like.... So time will tell. Updated on 19 Mar 2019: Really not much more of an update to report. Swelling going down slowwwwwly. Getting sufficient sleep has been a challenge but I'm starting to turn the corner. Compression garment, foam and wrap are tedious! Bruising is 75% gone. Belly Button looks like a yin-yang symbol. Still lack core strength to exercise! I have pics, but not really feeling like sharing them as they aren't great pics. But will do so once the swelling is mainly gone. I think some have accurately described this as an emotional roller coaster. Overall still feel like this is going to be super worth it, but it is a longer recovery and slower results than I was anticipating. Updated on 25 Mar 2019: Substantial improvement in swelling and bruising. I've been able to resume exercises that do not use my core too much. Largely walking, hiking, elliptical and cycling. I'm still not able to really use my core and feel like i can't stand erect. I think that's more of a function of skintite as a lot of energy got delivered to my abs. But it is getting better by the day. Weight is down to 1lb below procedure date. Pants size is almost down to my preprocedure fit. Pain is pretty much non-existent. Life is not yet back to normal as I'm substantially less active. I'm optimistic that by day 30 i'll be at 95% active again. Updated on 5 Apr 2019: It's been a month!!!! So I'm 95% back to normal. My skin still feels weird and my core strength is weak. But i'm back to lifting. If I get out of the compression garment, I swell back up. So I'm still wearing it about 16 hours per day. I'll do that for another week and then try to go to 12 hours per day. Improvement is substantial, but belly button looks like a yin-yang symbol rather than a belly button. I suspect that it will get better. I did two sessions of ultrasound therapy which does seem to help a little bit. Will do another update in a week. I suspect that by day 45 i'll post some good "after" pics.
I’m 44, 2 kids, 139 lbs, and a saggy 36d. I’m scheduled for surgery his coming Friday! After several consultations and reviews I went with Dr. Fisher. I really felt she knew what I wanted and what was best for me. I want to be full and a bit bigger. So originally we decided on 400cc of the middle cohesive implant but after reading all the reviews on Real Self the most common comment has been, “I wish I went bigger”. So I called my doctors this week and she said 485 cc will work well. Wish me luck!! Updated on 22 Dec 2018: I’ll be 100 percent honest, the pain yesterday was horrible until we figure out the right amount of meds to take. All I can say is take that meds! Went in today to make sure nipples are all good and doctor gave me thumbs up. Hoping tonight will be more comfortable. Updated on 27 Dec 2018: Feeling so much better, totally off of meds. Got out yesterday to get a fill in my nails and eat dinner, I was getting cabin fever. Took a pic today, they look a lot smaller than I expected but still so much better than before. Updated on 31 Dec 2018: Well every day they look different. Today looking very big and high. Updated on 7 Jan 2019: Well back to work today! I was doing good until about lunch time, I got sore, pain on my side boob and breast muscles hurt. Had to fight through it. Got home, took two Tylenol’s and relaxed a bit. Think I’m going to take a left over Valium before bed. We will see how day two goes tomorrow. Updated on 8 Jan 2019: Well I’m not seeing a big difference but maybe a little bit lower... Next week we take off the strips. Updated on 14 Jan 2019: Dr. appointment tomorrow. Excited to get the strips taken off. I’m scared of the pain when they get ripped off because I sense he scans have become part of them. Updated on 22 Jan 2019: Just being patient waiting for these bad Girls to drop. Updated on 21 Feb 2019: I went to the Doctor today to have my tapes removed. I was nervous about looking like Frankenstein. To my surprise one side HS minimums scaring, not bad for two months. Got the ok to workout and get a normal bra! Yay!! Scar treatment time. Updated on 22 Feb 2019: The last picture was cut off Updated on 4 Jan 2020: It’s been a year and they look amazing!
It's difficult to call someone like Dr. Fisher Doctor Fisher, it's easier to call her a friend. This is because she truly cared for not only my outcome but for my wellbeing emotionally and physically. Some of the best bedside manners I've experience. I quickly gained a trust for Dr. Fisher and trusted her judgement and experience to help guide me though my procedures and I'm so thankful that I did so. She's truly skilled honesty, and very good at it. FFS - facial feminization surgery. IE: Blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, lips, cheeks and facial fillers.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr Fisher. She was straightforward and patient when explaining a procedure that I was nervous about. She answered all my questions and didn’t soft-sell the procedure or the recovery. Now, six months after my tummy tuck, my scar is fading and the abs are flat and firm! Wow! Couldn’t be happier!
Dr. Fisher’s experience made me feel very comfortable and gave me assurance of having my tummy tuck. It was a pleasure working with Dr. Fisher, I was very happy and pleased with the outcome of my surgery.
I would recommend Dr. Fisher to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon. She was very helpful and was able to give me a lot of information on FTM. She made me feel so comfortable at our consolation that I didn’t feel the need to meet with anyone else. My results were better then I could have imagined and I’m very thankful that I was able to find a doctor who is so excellent at their profession. If I could rate her higher then a 5 I would! I genuinely enjoyed this experience thanks to Dr. Fisher and I would recommend her to any of my family and friends.
My experience with Doctor Fisher was amazing. I highly recommend her . Doctor Fisher is such a wonderful person. She always took the time to explain things to me. My husband and daughter got to know her and they just think the world of her. I had a full tummy tuck and Im very pleased with my results. I will always be grateful for her. I could not have asked for a better doctor. Thank you so much Dr. Fisher.
Dr. Fisher did an excellent job with my breast augmentation. I came to her after one of my old saline implants had deflated, not only that, I was an anatomical challenge to make symmetrical and my breasts showed the wear of age and 3 years of breast feeding. Thanks to Dr. Fisher my breast look better now than they ever have in my entire life. I love the more natural feel of my new silicone implants. We thoroughly discussed my desired result and she listened carefully. She prepared me with all needed information prior to surgery and has shown excellent follow up care as well. She is highly professional, trustworthy, smart and a pleasure to be around. I am very pleased that I picked her to do this work!
Dr. Fisher was professional and spent a lot of time with me explaining the procedure. I had a tummy tuck. The result was amazing. The follow up care was also wonderful. She personally called the night of to check on me. The scar is flat and straight. A super thin line. I highly recommend her.
The best way to remove axillary breast tissue, after confirming that it is actually breast tissue and not just fat, is direct excision. This is done through an incision hidden or mostly hidden in the armpit, depending on size and degree of excess skin. Also, depending on age, family history, and risk factors, the tissue may also need be sent for pathology since it is breast tissue. If the tissue is actually just fat, BodyTite with or without Morpheus8 is often effective. Have a visit with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss the method recommended for you.
If there is any skin laxity before having liposuction of the upper abdomen, liposuction will increase that laxity and the belly button skin will become more compressed horizontally. This means it can go from round to flat and sometimes even a downward curved line. This is always a risk of having liposuction as liposuction makes skin more loose, not more tight. That’s the trade off for achieving a more sculpted appearance otherwise. Even adding energy when doing the procedure in this particular area doesn’t counteract this effect. Changing the shape of the belly button by removing some excess skin there will leave a scar around the belly button, generally not worth it, but you can discuss that with your plastic surgeon.
The tented appearance between your breasts is called Symmastia. You have a pretty mild form of it, but it's understandable why it bothers you. It is a known potential complication of having breast implant surgery. Fortunately revisions are possible. For more severe cases ("uniboob"), revision surgery is complex and not all plastic surgeons do it. For milder cases like yours, revision surgery is easier, but still may have its challenges. You would not need a new breast augmentation, but you would need revision surgery which is a different operation. Depending on the techniques required this can cost less than, the same as, or significantly more than what you paid for your breast augmentation. In some cases the same implants can be used, saving some money there, but in your case I would recommend going with different implants for multiple reasons.
All of the procedures you mentioned can certainly be done at the same time. As you mentioned in your question, it is definitely convenient. That said, it is not the most ideal to have significantly inverted nipples repaired at the same time as another procedure that compromises blood flow to the nipple, in this case, a breast lift. It is also not always ideal to do it at the same time as a breast augmentation due to the downward migration of the breast implants during the healing process, waiting for them to “drop”. Depending on the technique of the inverted nipple repair, the nipples can re-invert during that drop phase. Ideally, the inverted nipple repair is done first. It’s a procedure that can be done in the office under local anesthesia. The augmentation mastopexy (simultaneous breast lift and implants) is done later in the operating room. Before doing an inverted nipple repair, you must know that if done properly, you would no longer be able to breast-feed.
Theoretically speaking, because an abdominoplasty is a superficial procedure involving only skin, fat, and minimal muscle, there should be no increased risk for partial small bowel obstructions in those with a history of recurrent SBOs. However, those of us who are double board-certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery can attest to the fact that it’s not always so simple. While there may be no otherwise obvious reason, systemic inflammation, narcotic-induced slowdown of bowel motility, and post surgical constipation, can be issues that may contribute to symptoms of partial SBO even after abdominoplasty. You may decrease your risk of complications related to this concern if you have a plastic surgeon that is also a general surgeon, and most importantly they would be able to handle your complications should they develop.
