I am considering lipo on my stomach, hips and back. However my surgeon says lipo on my stomach will leave loose skin as I still have stretch marks from pregnancy. My question is, if I have a little loose skin that goes round to my hips, but no stretch marks at all, and only rolls when I lean to the side (shown in pic), will lipo on my hips leave me with loose skin and also, if its effective, will it leave my stomach area looking strange because it has been left alone?
I think you need to ask your plastic surgeon this question, but in general, the flanks often respond well to liposuction particularly if you do not have stretch marks in that area. In your situation, a tummy tuck with flank and hip liposuction is a common operation with good results. The other thing to consider is - what are you calling "hips"? I'm not sure it's clear from your pictures. I recommend a second consult with a plastic surgeon if you are not getting answers to your questions because without seeing your whole body and evaluating the quality of your skin, it is hard to give advice.
Hi all! I haven't had any kids so at first I was just thinking that with lipo I would be fine, but a doctor I consulted said I will have some irregularities with just lipo and that I need a TT. I do have saggy skin and is not tight so I am afraid it won't bounce back with just lipo. I am not planning to have any kids now. Please let me know your opinion, I will be posting pictures.
It is very hard to appreciate the quality of your skin from a photo, but just based on your description of "saggy, not tight" skin, you will likely be happier with a tummy tuck. However, it is best to achieve your ideal body weight that you are comfortable with before considering body contouring surgery. No cosmetic surgery is a substitute for overall weight loss and health. You might consider liposuction first and see how the skin retracts as long as you are prepared for possibly needing a tummy tuck to remove loose skin in the future.
I am scheduled to have liposuction 1/4/12. I recently had coolsculpting of my midsection on 11/14/11. I would like to have coolsculpting done again on my flanks before my surgery date. Will that be too much done in the area of fat removal for my body in a short time period? Thank you!
Coolsculpting results take a few months to show full effect, so if you are planning on having liposuction in the same area as the coolsculpting, I would recommend waiting. Liposuction should treat an area effectively enough and with more precision so that you do not need to "pretreat" with coolscupting.
