Just like so many others on here my once pretty skin has been ruined by a series of 5 ipl treatments. And just like so many others I found out the hard way that lasers are RISKY to say the very least and can and in fact DO cause damage. Regardless of what these so called doctors say ( or don't say rather with their code of silence) it is not mere coincidence that so many of us are... more
I have a number of freckles from sun exposure and simple genetics and I've had IPL treatments in the past that were effective but not quite at a "wow" experience level. Dr. Emer's method and technology outdid all three of the previous treatments combined in results. Within a week, I estimate 80+% of my freckles and sunspots are gone. The experience itself was only slightly uncomfortable in... more
I had Ipl and I was burned so badly. I was in a lot of pain during the procedure and had told the technician multiple times during the procedure that it was painful and burning. Immediately after finishing it became clear that I was burned. multiple people came in and tried to assure me that I was fine and I had the perfect skin and not to worry I would be perfect in a week. The next morning... more
I had my 1st IPL and Pixel combo done a month ago. I was very swollen and had CRAZY coffee grounds face and chest for a week.. BUT, after 10-14 days my face and chest was BEAUTIFUL.... I lost 10 yrs just by losing all the sun damage spots. I still have 4 more planned ( spaced out one each month) and just had my 2nd one this morning. I highly recommend the procedure IF you do not want to... more
Just wanted everyone to know that I had IPL lasering and botox this month. My skin looks great; additionally I think I've developed a serious love for botox. I walked into Dr. Nassif's feeling my real late 40's, and walked out feeling my younger late 30's.
I've been going to Dr Nassif for over 7 years. My rhinoplasty is perfect after all these years. Everytime someone finds out I've... more
I am 34 years old and already had sun spots. I had read in a fashion magazine that the IPL Photofacial laser was having great results. I had tried every bleaching cream known to man and nothing worked so although I was very skeptical I decided to research it. I found a really great deal though living social and looked them up on yelp. They did not have ANY reviews pertaining to the IPL so... more
I have brown spots on my forehead, above my eyebrows, cheeks and chin. It was due to birth control and hormones as it only appeared in my 30s. I had IPL done in August 2011 and it made my skin flawless. Yes now in May 2013 it is almost back to the way it was before. Anyone else experience this? Bummer. more
I had IPL done just over 3 years ago. It was at Spa Aethetica in Orange, CA.
At first things went well, then one day I went for treatment and got badly burned on my neck and chest. They said it was normal and everything would be alright. I'm not alright, I have scars all over my chest and three on my neck. It has changed my life. I am no longer comfortable in my own skin. I even dress... more
IPL has helped my face with hyperpigmentation. I have melasma, and dark circles so I was told to try the IPL to help. They also call it a photo facial where I usually go. Although it does hurt( I actually think it is one of the more painful procedures), I do think it helped with my hyperpigmentation and melasma. Your skin looks a little burnt and swollen for a week but it is worth it. I have... more
Completed 3 IPL treatments and am very pleased with the results achieved. The first session is a shock to the system, but the following sessions were much less intense feeling. Results from the first session were noticeable by the third week and the following sessions have further enhanced skin tone and texture. My goal was to eliminate the brown splotches that come with age and IPL works. It... more
I have always had a reddish skin tone (I'm a fair-skinned Irish woman) with acne prone skin. I had this done maybe 3 or 4 times over a 2 year period and loved it. I found that while it did hurt a bit, it wasn't bad at all....plus, my pores appeared smaller and the ruddiness was almost completely gone. I have been asked for years if I have a sunburn, which I did not. I had... more
I've had 7 IPL photofacials in the past 5 years and I couldn't be happier with the results. My first experiences were pretty typical of those described elsewhere on this site.
My 4th experience was traumatic. I had so much melasma from my pregnancies, that the laser lifted up TONS of pigment, in a scary stripey pattern. YIKES! After that lifted off about a week later, I had stripes... more
My twin sister and I are turning thirty this year. We have struggled for years with very ruddy skin, including red and brown 'sun' spots. I attribute our uneven skin tone to running around without a drop of sunscreen though the better part of our childhoods. Anyone with truly ruddy skin knows how embarassing it is to always have your skin look dirty, no matter how much you cleanse.... more
Pros: FIRST SESSION did seem to lighten some of the brown spots and sun damaged areas of my skin. i was encouraged. they said this process of lightening would continue as the "laser brought the pigment to the surface and it was exfoliated or flaked off"
they recommended using sunscreen, which i did use but mostly i stayed entirely out of the sun.
CONS: SESSIONS 2-4 (over a... more
I am a light-skinned Asian female. I had very nice experience with my IPL provider. After inital consultation, she understood my concerns of the long-term, permanent side effects from IPL gone-wrong. She gave me 2 times of "test spot" with 7 day of interval. I just had my first IPL done yesterday. Thanks to 2 test spots, my provider would be able to find the right settings for me... more
