Dr. Moelleken believes in highly customized innovative solutions to help fulfill the patient's aesthetic goals, both surgical and minimally invasive, with procedures such as the Hybrid Tummy Tuck, LiveFill, the 360 Facelift, and a full spectrum of minimally invasive laser and radiofrequency devices.
Hybrid Tummy Tuck® is designed to get rid of the extra bulge in your lower stomach by tightening the deep layer via a small incision in your abdomen. Dr. Brent designed the technique to be able to use an existing C-section scar for the small incision. Even if you don’t have the C-section scar, the incision is minimal.
LiveFill breast augmentation (or LBAM) is an improvement upon traditional fat transfer breast augmentation methods that use fat to increase breast size. While fat transfer has been popular for years, it continued to have downsides, such as more rapid loss of results than permanent solutions such as implants. LBAM brings patients the best of both worlds, with the natural materials of fat transfer combined with fascia while improving the survival of your results dramatically.

I've had 3 facial procedures by Dr Moelleken spanning 17 years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my face. Exceptional surgical skills and an environment that's a perfect mix of professionalism with a friendly, laid-back experience from the office to the operating room.
First class experience start to finish. From the first consultation and the pre-surgery information… to the surgery and including aftercare. The experience was seamless start to finish. Also a shout out to the office staff, the nurses and the anesthesia doctor.
Dr. Moelleken is not only a double board certified plastic surgeon but he's also trained in general surgery. He's also a professor. He did a hybrid tummy tuck and hernia repair on me after I needed revision from awake lipo (Squlpt). The recovery from his surgery was easier, shorter, and less painful than the awake lipo- which also presents specific dangers that I wasn't really aware of. If you are thinking of abdominoplasty I would not recommend awake lipo which has a high likelihood of coming out uneven. The post-operative care has also been wonderful with Dr. Moelleken and his entire team.
I am a person who never expected to opt for plastic surgery, but after three kids and an extremely wrinkled tummy, at the age of 51 I decided to go for a tummy tuck with flank liposuction. Due to a family history of blood clots, Dr. Moelleken decided to put me on a blood thinner post-op. Unfortunately this led to a hematoma, and an emergency surgery. It was not fun, and it was extremely scary, but I am thankful that I had Dr. Moelleken to take care of me. He is a skilled and serious surgeon. I am still recovering and so I will have to wait before I can speak of the final results, but if you’re opting for surgery, even if it’s for cosmetic purposes, the most important consideration is from a health perspective. You will have the best with Dr. Moelleken.
My experience with Dr. Moelleken was a blessing. I was bitten in my penis by a dog at work. I was in utter despair and seeked the best medical treatment. Dr. Moelleken came highly recommended. When I met Dr. Moelleken, he showed concern and care for my injury. His prior experience in other dog related injuries made me feel comfortable. I was assured I had found the right doctor to treat my injury and I put my trust in him. Now my penis is in better shape, literally. I thank God, Dr. Moelleken came to my aid in such a terrible time of my life. Dr. Moelleken helped restore my manhood. Thank you Dr. Moelleken and your wonderful team.
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Moelleken. From my first consultation I felt he addressed my concerns and provided me with option's which would correct my concerns and improve my appearance. His staff were professional and very prompt replying to any questions I had regarding my procedure. The team of nurses (especially Melissa) were so kind and caring when I went to the clinic in person. I felt very cared for. Dr. Moelleken was one of the few surgeons who I felt could properly perform my hernia repairs while giving me aesthetically pleasing results to suit my active lifestyle. I am so happy I chose Dr Moelleken and his team to perform my operation and I am very pleased with my healing one week post operation. I would recommend him to all my friends and will see him again in the future for any other like procedures. Thank you!
I was experiencing slight back pain in 2013 in my lower back, and they said it was just SI joint dysfunction and to go to physical therapy. Then it got worse, and I couldn’t feel my legs. I had slight tears in my hips and had three hip surgeries because they told me that’s where the pain was coming from but the pain continued and I wasn't able to squat down more than 3 inches because my lower back felt like there was something in there guarding the movement even with the MRI being totally normal. Then in 2023, I could barely move and I went and met with 13 different doctors, six surgeons, and I finally did an ultrasound on top of the MRI. They said they were just small lipomas and did not cause pain, but when I pressed on them, it would cause excruciating neuropathy through my legs, and I couldn’t feel my toes. So I researched doctor after doctor and finally saw the reviews for Dr. Moelleken. He actually listened to me and said that he would do the surgery, even though the lipomas were small according to the ultrasound. Once he got in there, they were huge and were rare fibroid lipomas. Almost instantaneously, I felt 90% better. The left side is almost 100% complete, and I am 10 weeks post-op. The right side still has a little bit of pain, but that’s just because they had been in there since 2013. My quality of life has increased substantially, and I cannot thank not only the doctor but also his staff, who got me in immediately, walked me through the process, got me an estimate, scheduled my surgery date, assisted with my pre-op bloodwork, and any testing that I needed. Special shout out to Melissa Rodas who responded so quickly for any questions that I had! She was Incredible I cannot thank her enough. This was the best experience of my life, and I recommend anyone who has been told that they aren’t experiencing pain or has any kind of issue that could be considered cosmetic, like a lipoma, to meet with Dr. Moelleken.
I am one week post-op from my implant removal and breast lift with Dr. Moelleken, and I am in awe at how easy and painless this process has been. Despite my expectation of sustained moderate pain while recovering, plus a “frankenstein” appearance directly after surgery, the reality has been the exact opposite. I have had virtually no pain, and my breasts (despite the multiple incisions required to perform a lift) have been only slightly sore with minimal swelling and almost no bruising at all. I also had expected to receive replacement implants to achieve the shape and size I was used to. Instead, he was able to achieve a beautiful shape and retain enough tissue in the process that I did not require any implants at all, which was even better for me. In addition to his surgical skill, I could not imagine better care from a doctor than the care I have received from Dr. M. He is very approachable and kind, and in the multiple conversations I’ve had with him during the last two years, I’ve never once felt rushed. Once again, Dr. Moelleken deserves all of the stars. With all sincerity, I could not trust anyone more.
I can not express enough gratitude, appreciation, and over all how blessed I am to have had my surgery with this Dr! He has changed my life after a car accident I had & he really had saved my life by finding & repairing more than I went in Initially for, he took his time & made sure all the care that was previously missed was FIXED & repaired. He is so humble, sweet, made me feel welcomed & heard! I can’t put into words just how greatful I am to be relieved & in a better space & comfort in my body & able to be free of pains & worries! Just Amazing! He literally changed my life!
I was extremely anxious about having any plastic surgery. I was worried about having any “botched” results. Dr Moelleken did an amazing job and I am very happy with my results. And on top of it, he is an extremely nice person and his entire medical staff is professional and very pleasant. He will be my “go to” plastic surgeon from now on.
In the submental region, there are three basic main causes that can be treated (and lots of additional smaller causes that can't): fat, looseness of the underlying muscle (platysma), and extra skin. While liposuction will reduce the fat below the chin, unquestionably a better solution would be weight loss. In your case, the platysma muscle is also likely involved, and there is also subplatysmal fat at fault as well, and possibly a low-positioned hyoid bone (not much you can do about the underlying anatomy). Tightening the platysma muscle and possibly defatting the subplatysmal area can great enhance the cervicomental angle in many patients. Subplatysmal dissection is tricky because of risk of damage to the marginal mandibular nerve in particular, not to mention a few pretty large blood vessels as well. While minimally invasive tightening devices make great promises- and we do use them in my practice when appropriate- they just don't tighten the skin that much. If you are expecting surgery results, you will likely be disappointed with the minimally invasive techniques. The reason for this is that when the skin is heated too much, by any technique, the subdermal blood supply becomes damaged, circulation is affected and skin can change color, become stiff (like radiation) and even become necrotic. I have seen many such cases, especially with laser liposuction or aggressive radiofrequency tightening. If significant skin excess is present, most patients are best off with a lower facelift or facelift. I have a busy facelift practice, and almost everybody I see now has tried Kybella, Ultherapy, FaceTite, submental liposuction alone, etc. etc. etc. only to need a facelift in the end anyway. And many of these techniques excessively defat the neck while not significantly tightening the skin, causing a premature aged appearance. So before you spend your hard earned money, make sure you're getting the right procedure by selecting a surgeon who can do and frequently does both minimally invasive and surgical procedures.
An excellent question for a very confusing area of the body! There are two primary areas of the mid face to rejuvenate: the area below the eyes and the area to the side of the eyes. In my practice, we rejuvenate the lateral mid face with a high-SMAS facelift, and the area below the eyes with a superficial checklist, about which I have written several papers (drbrent.com). Volume replacement is accomplished with autologous fat fascial grafts, which are alive and do not require injection, centrifugation etc. Brent Moelleken MD FACS Associate Clinical Professor, UCLA Private Practice, Beverly Hills The subperiosteal space is unforgiving with respect to healing times, and does not directly accomplish elevation of the soft tissues, since the periosteum is unyielding.
Irregularities after liposuction are most common in aggressive liposuction procedures, such as high definition liposuction 'hi def' or in the presence of already loose skin. The best treatment for these issues is an abdominoplasty, preferably a Hybrid Abdominoplasty (Hyprid Tummy Tuck(R), to keep the horizontal incision low, in which the skin is completely elevated, evened out as much as possible, and the entire deep fascial is addressed, if necessary. It's also a good time to address any diastasis present or hernias.
I would definitely see a board certified plastic surgeon to assess your mole, especially if it is a large one. Larger pigmented moles, even those present at birth, do have a potential for degeneration to cancerous moles. It is not appropriate in such a case to laser or treat the mole for its appearance alone. Imagine missing a melanoma on a young patient! In the case of very large moles, there are various options to remove all of the mole, or part of it in combination with a biopsy.
The analogy of various procedures to work in an auto body shop may illustrate the point. No shop will give you an answer. Is it a chip on the paint? A ding that can be fixed with paintless technique? Does the accident involve deep damage to the frame? Is it a reputable factory authorized body shop where you won't even see where the repair was done, or is it Uncle Jimmy's with a can of Bondo and some spray paint? Nasal surgery is much more complex than fixing a car. There is the shape, breathing, the underlying anatomy, the history of work on the nose, and the patient's expectations to consider. Any price estimate you get prior to a thorough consultation is at best an attempt to get you into the door for a real consultation. Only when you have a realistic consultation can you get a feel for the practice, the reputation and work of the doctor, and, of course, the price.
