I do not want to trade my big eyes for a taught jawline. Is there anyway around this? I've also noticed this when I looked at my derms Ulthera photos. I was not impressed. Is it because the muscles are tightened around the eye which gives the illusion of smaller eyes? I DO NOT want that small-sized pulled look. I have 3 consults coming up, but I need more eyes (no pun intended ) on this situation.

Answer: Eye shape change after facelift If having just a facelift, it would be unusual to see a real change in the shape of the eyes. For the first few weeks, swelling from the surgery will often move into the eye area, and this can make the eyes appear smaller. Your friends may also have actually had eyelid surgery with the facelift which is very common. With a facelift, most of the pull is upward, so there should be little to no distortion of the eyelid shape

Answer: Eye shape Facelifts typically involve the lower 2/3rds of the face, starting at the cheeks and down to the neck, and do not change eyelid shape. Some surgeons extend the dissection up the temporal hairline and a pull in this area can distort the lower lid shape and lead to smaller eyelid aperture. Basically, the right type of facelift technique should avoid this change in eyelid shape.
