I initially went in for consultation for breast lift and implant exchange. During the thorough medical history review, my autoimmune issues were discussed. We decided together that I may be experiencing Breast Implant Illness (I had capsular contracture, extreme fatigue, high white blood cells, positive ANA tests, and joint pain). We decided that I should not replace my 11 year old silicone breast implants but instead try fat transfer to increase my natural breast size from a B cup to a C cup along with the breast lift. The liposuction for the fat transfer was from flanks and inner thighs. I’m 5 weeks post op - bruising has mostly faded and I’m still wearing the compression garment 24 hours a day which I love more than I thought. My breasts look amazing and I can’t wait for the scars to fade. It’s an adjustment from having DD’s for so long but I feel so much healthier! The fatigue and joint pain are gone! Dr. Mentz’s staff has been amazing through the entire experience. From Stephanie who scheduled me (though she definitely downplayed the healing process and I wish I would have done more research on my own to have a full understanding of recovery), to the PA Nadia who is wonderful and always available to me with questions during recovery. Dr. Mentz took his time answering my questions in consultation and in making a plan for my mini mommy makeover. I had a severe allergic reaction to the adhesive/prenio tape they used to cover my sutures which was awful but Nadia made time for me to come in immediately and help make a plan. She has always made me feel secure. I’m so happy I chose this practice and Dr. Mentz.
If you are considering a facelift or other facial rejuvenation procedure, I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Mentz. He is a highly qualified provider who exudes the confidence of a surgeon possessing years and years of experience performing multiple facelifts each week. Results surpassed my expectations, and I could not be more thankful I chose to trust my face to Dr. Mentz. First, to give you some perspective, I consulted five different physicians before choosing Dr. Mentz. It was quite helpful to view his website’s extensive array of “before and after photos”, which is what prompted me to make an appointment in the first place. Once you see his gallery, other doctors’ results pale in comparison. What’s more, facelifts are so “second nature” to Dr. Mentz that one look at me during our initial consultation, and he knew exactly what I needed. My consultation with Dr. Mentz was pleasant and informative. His New Patient Coordinator, AnaLisa Cole, is one of the kindest people you will meet. She is upbeat, positive, and answered a flood of questions to help alleviate my concerns about the procedure. Dr. Mentz was gracious, approachable and efficient. One of the things that impressed me most about him were his frank, honest answers to all of my questions. No, he couldn’t make me look like Pamela Anderson, but he could give me back 10 years. Lol. And, you will love the 3D imaging Dr. Mentz uses to help visualize your results. By uploading the patient’s “before” photo into the computer, Dr. Mentz is able to perform “virtual surgery”, generating a very close representation of how you will look once fully recovered. I had no issues securing a surgery date that worked for me and, the day of surgery, I was a little nervous — mostly just contemplating the fear of the unknown (i.e. pain, recovery, results). I had to chuckle to myself when they rolled me into the operating room because, unlike other doctors who draw an extensive diagram on your face prior to surgery, Dr. Mentz merely needed to place a dot here and a dash there. Honestly, this is so easy for him he doesn’t need to draw a diagram; he could probably do the surgery with one eye closed and one hand tied behind his back. Recovery consisted of a night at the surgery center in a nice, private room; staff was attentive and kind. The next few days at home were better than expected — not a whole lot of pain, just felt very tired and slept most of the first few days. Dr. Mentz will send a nurse to your home the week following surgery to check on your progress and ensure your wellbeing. The nurse will also remove drains and initiate medication refills. Swelling and bruising were definitely present, but not as extensive as I had imagined. And, as others have mentioned, the cooling machine you wear on your face the first week seemed to be quite helpful in reducing inflammation. After two weeks, I was able to go out of the house briefly, but felt much more comfortable at 3 weeks. Currently, I am 10 months post-op and delighted with the results. I honestly didn’t realize how bad I looked until Dr. Mentz worked his magic. His work is precise and well planned — just the right amount of rejuvenation and lift, yet always natural. And, in case you are wondering, he is masterful at creating nearly undetectable scars. Mine healed beautifully, and I routinely pull my hair up in a ponytail for workouts without worry of being noticed. Lastly, a few important things you need to know: • Dr. Mentz and his staff are complete professionals. The surgery you are about to embark on — they do it every day, and they have the process down to a science. ACPS is a well-oiled machine. • You are in excellent, capable hands because THIS IS EASY FOR DR. MENTZ. • It may very well change how you feel about yourself. I am much more confident and positive about my self-image. • I have never once regretted my decision and would do it again, in a heartbeat. • Lastly, you will read reviews from many people — mostly great, but some might leave you questioning. And, not every outcome is going to be perfect — no physician or person is perfect all the time. But, it’s all about having realistic expectations and the exceptionally high odds Dr. Mentz can produce the outcome you desire. Take it from a true skeptic — I am now a believer in Dr. Mentz.
I saw doctor Mentz in 2014 for a mini abdominoplasty and breast augmentation. My results were as good as it can get. Last year to now (2018/2019) I gained 30lbs and it left my with an unsightly shape to my body as well as gave me some really odd, loose upper stomach skin that really needed to go. I opted for a rare procedure called a reverse tummy tuck; also known as an upper tummy tuck. I was definitely scared because of the scar that goes across your chest and the rarity of the surgery. I opted to move forward and boy am I glad that I did. I will post pre-op photos and now 3 week post op photos. I am still very swollen but if these were my end results, I would be happy... I can't even imagine what I will look like when the swelling goes down. Dr. Mentz is just so good at what he does. In total, he gave me an upper tummy tuck, an upper abdomen hernia repair while at it, liposuction of the love handles, abdomen and outer thighs and he did a Brazilian butt lift on me with the fat he harvested during the liposuction. He also did some stem cell injections in some acne scars on my face. All in all, I paid, $20,000. It was worth it. My scars are minimal. My butt looks amazing. I got exactly what I asked for.
Dr Mentz has done a breast augmentation, mini abdominal-pasty, face fraxel, and lipo/injections of fat in my acne scars, to me, and all has turned out quite well. He's always been very kind, patient and pays attention to the client's concerns. He always answered questions and even helped me come up with a game plan to solve another problem I was having with my abdomen that was out of the ordinary. I would highly recommend him. He's also the first triple board certified plastic surgeon in the nation. Updated on 16 Feb 2019: Mentz took a little bit of fat from my leg and injected it into my face. Major improvement after just 9 days. I’ve had these acne scars for 15 years. He also did a fraxel combined with the fat injection.
I have to give Dr Mentz 5 stars and would give him and his staff more if there were more stars. I interview 5 other plastic surgeons before deciding on Dr M. I’m 6 weeks out from a full facelift. I had no pain at all after surgery...he didn’t tell me about that!! My experience from my first visit, AnaLisa, to the day of surgery, the surgical staff, Dr. Vo, the visiting nurses, Wendy, follow up visits, complimentary services at the spa, hand written encouragement notes, and many many personal touches made me feel 100% sure I made the right decision. I didn’t want to put my face in the hands of someone who does a couple of facelifts a month. I wanted an expert; someone gifted in facial plastic surgery.....that is definitely Dr M. He’s knowledgeable, an artist and so kind to boot. The ACPS is well organized. If I had questions but did need a doctor to answer, Marjorie, the nurse on call would answer immediately. If you want to trust someone with your full facelift or any surgical procedure to your face, Dr Mentz is your man!!
Dr. Mentz is awesome as well as the office staff. Upon my first encounter with him he was very kind, patient and very knowledgeable. I had a BBL and I couldn’t be more happy with the results! I’m 3 weeks post-op no complications and I’ve received numerous compliments on my new body. My entire experience from beginning to now has been wonderful. I am so grateful I chose Dr. Mentz! He exceeded my expectations! Thank you Dr. Mentz and thank you to the wonderful staff also! :)
I was at a point where I did not want to look in the mirror. I had a creepy neck, extra skin on eye lids and eye shadow did not even look good anymore and more... I was ready for a more long lasting option.. so it was surgery time...So glad I followed thru.. Yes, I was nervous before the surgery, but looking in the mirror was the motivation. The recovery has been nice... I am a very active person, so I picked the winter time so I would want to be at home. I am enjoying every minute and the results get better everyday.
I’m a long time patient if Dr. Mentz and highly recommend him and his staff. I had my facelift 10 years ago and to this day people think I’m 20 years younger than.i am. Dr. Mentz wins awards for his facelifts and they are well deserved. His nursing director, Renee Arriaga, has made sure that I continue to look good with her bag of tricks - Sculptra, Botox, Eurothreads, etc. She only recommends what I need at the time and keeps me looking natural. Her Spa Specialist, Mavi, helps me keep my vagina young too with ThermiVa treatments. She Is knowledgeable about all of the procedures offered and efficiently runs Renee’s office. I love the whole team!!!
I have been a patient of Renee with Dr. Mentz’ office for years and there is a wonderful reason why…she is amazing! Renee is so skilled and knowledgeable about the products and services she provides and uses the skills and knowledge to give tailored results. I have used Sculptra for many years. I love how natural the product works. Sculptra offers just enough collagen to give my mid 50’s face a nice plumper look in my cheeks and most recently a tad bit in the under-eye orbital area. Renee knew just where and how much to give to keep a natural look. Thank you Renee and a shout out to Mavi her assistant!
Currently a post-op patient. After weight loss had a buttock lift performed by Cortez in Houston and after healing top buttock hip crease was lumpy, sagging and also there was still a lot of fat still needing lipo per flank area. Went for consultation afterwards did not feel comfortable with second assessement. Overheard ladies talking about Dr. Mentz at a park and decided to give him a try. Not to discount previous services but Mentz services and results are on a much different level in comparison. Trust me! An extremely picky, private athlete and not one to display personal information such as this to the world. From the office visit to the actual place of surgery... Impeccable. So far I'm more than happy!
Thank you for your question. It is possible to have all of those procedures at once. As long as you are healthy and have been cleared for surgery you should be fine. Having multiple procedures at once also means only one recovery period. Be sure to find a board certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience. Wish you all the best,Dr. Mentz
Thank you for your question. Recovery can range from 5-7 days for liposuction and exercise in 3 weeks. Patients will wear a compression garment for the first 6 weeks after their surgery to reduce swelling and bruising as well as to promote proper healing of the underlying tissues. Be sure to check with your plastic surgeon on their recovery guidelines.Wish you all the best,Dr. Mentz
Thank you for your question and photos. Based on your photos it does appear that you have some submittal fat under your chin. Kybella would give you results but you would need to be seen in person to determine the amount of vials and number of treatments required to get you the results you desire. Wish you all the best,Dr. Mentz
Thank you for your question and photos. If your nasolabial folds are your area of concern then fillers might be worth trying. A consultation will help your provider determine what fillers will benefit you. Wish you all the best,Dr. Mentz
Thank you for your question and photos. If it is painful it is best to contact your surgeon and have a follow up to resolve the issue. As you stated you cannot go back to the surgeon since he/she is too far away. I would contact them and see if they can refer you to a plastic surgeon in your area to follow up. Wish you all the best,Dr. Mentz
