Will Juvederm fillers migrate from exercising 2 hours after injection?

Hi, Thank you for your post. I generally recommend that my patients do not bend, lift or do any kind of exercise for 24 hours after injectables. The reason for this is mainly swelling and bruising but I would try to avoid any kind of strenuous activity for the next 24 hours after your visit. Contact your provider immediately if you notice any migration of product.  However, based on what you have written, you should be ok.  Do not massage the area.  Your final result will take about 2 weeks, as swelling & bruising will subside.  Again, if you have any concerns, contact and communicate them with your provider.  Best wishes, Dr. Aldo :-)

Good Afternoon,It is very unlikely that your fillers will migrate from the workout you did. As others have said, we suggest avoiding exercise mainly to avoid bruising and swelling after the procedure.Have a nice day

Not likely that exercise immediately after filler will result in migration of product in my experience.Best

The main reason for the no strenuous exercise for 24 hours post injections is to help avoid bruising and swelling. You will probably be fine although if you look in the mirror and things seem off then see your injector. Do try and "move" the filler yourself. My guess is that are fine. Once set, filler doesn't migrate. 

Hi there, I understand  why you had to run, however this is not optimal. I am concerned that the filler could have shifted. Please look in the mirror very carefully and make sure you have no color changes in your skin around the area where the filler was done. If you have a white streak or unusual color changes (purple,brown,black), you must go back to your board certified dermatologist immediately.  I am concerned about a possible  occlusion and I would not suggest that you massage the area. Thank you for your excellent question.  I recommend that my patients avoid bending, heavy lifting and strenuous activities such as going to the gym for 24 hours after an injectable procedure.  The purpose of this recommendation is primarily for bruise prevention.  Based on your narrative, you should be just fine.  I would not recommend massaging the area.  Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow for normal postprocedure swelling and bruising, if present, to fully resolve and to see your final result.  Please be sure to address any specific questions or concerns to your injector.  Hope this helps and best wishes! 

Hello and thank you for your question. Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler that was designed to lift and expand cheeks. It is typically injected very close to bone, which means once injected it stays there. I don't think the exercise you did after the injection would affect it. Hope this helps, Dr. S. 

No exercise or stressful activity will create any migration of a filler once it has been placed. Only the pressure of the needle and the syringe will affect where the filler will go. Good luck from New York City

We recommend that patients limit their exercising for 24 hours after a filler treatment.  The main reason for this is to avoid bruising after getting injections.  It is rare for filler to migrate from the cheeks.If you feel that the filler looks different, see your doctor.  Do not try and move the filler yourself.  The placement of filler takes a skilled eye and looking at your face from many different angles.  It is not really possible to do that yourself.
