Dr. Cohen and his team was phenomenal. He is extremely talented, experienced, and caring -- three qualities that make him one of the best in the country. Dr. Cohen has extensive trainings in both Ophthalmology and Neurology at prestigious institutions, which was important to me, because I did not want a ‘jack-of-all-trade’ (no offense to those who are) when it comes to the care of eyes. Dr. Cohen’s in-depth knowledge of the eyes as an organ eases the mind that wondered about the risk of a surgery. (My unsolicited advice is to always try to understand the risk, however minimal, and weigh it against the perceived benefits.) Having gone through the surgery and recovered so quickly (within a week) and so well (no makeup required whatsoever), I appreciate every day how precise and disciplined Dr. Cohen's scalpel is - to take out a tad less would leave puffiness, a trace more would hollow out the area. My natural eye shapes are kept intact, except that I look well-rested and fresh like a baby. A natural look is easier said than done. Please know it requires decades of experience to be able to make that judgement on the operating table. Last but not least, Dr. Cohen had my best interest in mind. He did not rush to conclusion what procedure might fit me the best. He listened to what I'd like to achieve and carefully examined the features of my eyes and face. As talented as he is, he does not have a big ‘surgeon’s ego’ or try to fast talk you. Under his leadership, the staff in the office were all courteous and caring individuals. As a patient, you can tell it’s a good team.
I am so pleased with the results of my eye lid surgery. Dr. Cohen and everyone in his office were very congenial and accommodating. The day of the surgery everything went smoothly. My eyes healed quickly with little to no pain and Dr. Cohen's office called to ask how things were going. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen and his staff to anyone who is considering eye surgery. Thank you all!
If you read my previous posts, I had some filler placed under my eyes to diminish tear trough deformities. The result 6 days after my filler was HORRIBLE malar bags that basically ruined my face. I never had the bags before, I had hollows. PLUS, he over-injected Botox and cause my entire left side of my face to droop so I looked like I had a stroke for 3 months. Now, a year plus later I was letting the filler dissolve naturally, mainly because the injector did such a poor job the first time, I was terrified for him to dissolve it. I had C02 laser only to tighten and firm the skin first. I went with the least invasive option. Day 1- NO pain. The bandages pulled my lower lids down a bit, but truly, the lasered area felt like a minor sunburn. Day 2- Just tired. And today there was no pain whatsoever. The eyes were dry and scratchy, but that's because the dressings were pulling them down. Honestly, the worst part of all of this was 1. Sleeping upright for 4 days and 2. The bandages pulling my lower lids down. Day 5- Bandages removed and the skin is red and a little crusty. Now I start applying Crisco. The bandage removal was tough as I think she pulled the new skin a bit too hard and it may have prematurely removed some scabs (she should have soaked them off more) but afterwards I was fine. Day 7- Follow up at Drs office- The Dr on staff removed some crusting with a q-tip. Still red, and I expect I will be for 3 months or so? Day 13- Skin is sloughing off, but all in all, the wrinkles that plagued me are almost completely gone at this stage. The skin is red, peeling and much tighter. It's not too much for me to hope the malar bags have been addressed with this. I feel they have been and I will continue to think positively about it. They say at 2 weeks I can start using make up but honestly, I'm going to wait. The skin is still healing (and I heal real quick anyway) so I will re-asses the situation in another week. I'm in no rush at this point. The healing has been easy. Other than extreme fatigue from the meds (anti-virals and antibiotics) sleeping upright and the bandages, this has been a breeze. There are some obvious areas where the laser hit along the edges (lines of demarcation, esp my left eye) with visible raggy looking "holes" from the laser. Hopefully they will resolve with time. I will go for another follow up soon and post more healing pics. the staff and Dr. have been amazing throughout it all, though, and I feel this may have been the fix I was looking for. Less may have actually been more in this situation. We will see! Updated on 1 Apr 2018: So far, so good! I'm using Jane Iredel make up to cover the red. It's a great mineral make up. Updated on 7 May 2018: I now have vertical lines under one the eye. They are rather noticeable in sunlight, and my Dr. assured me they will subside. I hope they do go away (not sure what caused them to start with) but all in all, my eyes look very good. If the lines don't go away I'm not sure what the fix is. Maybe a quick pass of the laser for revision or something else? Still super happy with the results tho.
Great, I’m basically blind in one eye and needed help with my droopy eye lid on my good eye. They helped my vision and I look less tired .... even though I am. Highly recommend this practice and dr Cohen
I can't begin to express how ecstatic I am with the results of this procedure and the professionalism of this office!! I have been dealing with eye bags since my late 20's as a result of hyperthyroidism/ Grave's disease, which has since gone into remission. The swelling was more pronounced on some days and less on others, but the bags were always there and they were the first thing I saw every time I looked in the mirror. I tried every cream, gel and make up trick to reduce the appearance. Nothing worked. With my 50th birthday approaching, I finally decided to explore surgery as an option. After extensive research and reading so many wonderful reviews, I chose to meet with Dr. Marc Cohen. He and his staff made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in the office and all of my questions and concerns were so thoroughly answered, that I scheduled the surgery then and there! There were no hidden fees beyond the original price quoted and the healing process followed the EXACT timeline Dr. Cohen explained to me. I returned back to work after 10 days and, with a little correcting makeup, no one noticed I had anything done. Six weeks post op my eyes looked amazing and now a little over 3 months post op, I swear they keep getting better! It is an absolute pleasure to look in the mirror and see me instead of my eye bags. I have a new confidence I haven't had in years. If you have been dealing with eye bags and have been on the fence about surgery, I strongly recommend you set up a consultation with Dr. Cohen. It was truly one of the best decisions I ever made!!
Dr. Marc Cohen is not only a extremely talented and experienced surgeon but he has the best bedside manner and disposition of any doctor I have ever encountered. I had thoroughly researched Dr. Cohen's education, credentials and references and the moment I met him I knew that he was the doctor for me!!! He took the time to answer my questions and made sure that I had very realistic expectations for the results of the surgery. Dr. Cohen called me the day before the surgery and spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining what the surgery and follow up care would be like and then answering any other questions that I had. Honestly...I doubt many other doctors take the time to do this but it made a huge difference to me because of course I was extremely nervous and I definitely slept better having spoken to him the day before the surgery. I saw Dr. Cohen the day of the surgery and once again he was all smiles and did whatever he could to calm me down and assure me that all was going to be great. The actual surgery and the surgical center experience went extremely well and the recovery was so much easier that I ever imagined. I followed all of Dr. Cohen's very detailed and specific instructions and healed beautifully without one minute of pain. When I saw Dr. Cohen for my post-surgical appointments, he was once again warm, friendly , gave very specific instructions and answered every question I had. The office staff at Dr. Cohen's is also professional, knowledgeable ,warm, friendly and extremely efficient. I never waited for an appointment and I received several calls before the surgery to make sure that I picked up prescriptions, stopped supplements, had any questions etc. My entire experience with Dr. Cohen and his staff was perfect from the very beginning and I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone who is looking for a doctor who is an expert in his field and who treats his patients in a very professional , kind and nurturing way.
My experience was excellent. Everyone was very pleasant. I came in for a consultation, discovered I was a great candidate for Voluma fillers, and left a new person. I am extremely pleased with the results. It's been a few weeks post-injection and everything is great. I didn't experience any bruising, minimal swelling, and my eye bags are gone. So glad I found you him online. I never would have guessed my biggest insecurity could be resolved in less than an hour! Thank you Dr. Cohen. I will highly recommend you to my network!
Excellent experience from start to finish. From the moment I contacted the office- until my last follow up visit- It could not have been a better experience. Everyone is this office is professional, friendly and efficient. For the past few years I have noticed a decrease in my peripheral vision, due to heavy, and droopy eyelids. Although I wanted to have it addressed sooner- other medical issues prevented me from having it addressed. Due to my extensive medical history, I wanted a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon who had top-notch experience but was also friendly. Dr. Cohen fit this criteria. At the first consultation, Dr. Cohen explained the procedure in detail and patiently answered the many questions. He and his team worked closely with my insurance provider to have it approved- as it was interfering with my vision. Dr. Cohen and his wonderful team, Jenn, Britney, Kristen, Lauren and the others whose names I unfortunately forget, addressed all of my medical needs/concerns and worked with my health care provider. I am so sorry I forget everyone's name.... they were all wonderful. The day of surgery, Dr. Cohen was caring, providing me and my husband the support needed. I am an advanced practice RN- I have worked in health care and I have been a patient, dealing with many medical service personnel and office staff. This team needs to "package" what they do so that others can follow their model of care- as their mission is one of compassion, treating people with dignity and kindness. They made me feel special and not like just another patient getting a procedure. That means a lot. If you are looking to get your eyes done, look no further. Dr. Cohen and his team- are the absolute best.
great result! I don't look tired any longer! waking up in the morning and looking at the mirror is such a joy! my healing process was not as easy as I would like it to be ( I had dry eyes and had to take steroids for 2 weeks) but my result is amazing. Money well spend too! its worth it.
I have been to Dr.Cohen twice already. I am very impressed with him. He is professional, personable and makes you feel quite at ease. He is not pushy or critical. My results were exactly what I had hoped. Understated and believable, subtle enhancement. I would not hesitate on recommending him to others as well as using his expertise in the future.
Thank you for your question. Your issue could be improved with a treatment with the hyaluronic acid filler, Voluma. The key is seeing a physician who has expience in treating this region.
There is no problem getting Botox during your period. The same is true for Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau.
Thank you for your question. I'm not sure what you mean by too much Botox. If the dose of Botox is too high it can cause temporary side effects. However, Botox always wears off in a matter of months and those side effects would wear off. They are not permanent. They key to getting the best results from Botox is to see an experienced physician for your treatments. That way you will get the right amount of Botox in the right locations.
It is fine to return to normal activity after a Botox injection. The only issue is that if you do something very strenuous the day of your treatment you are a little more likely to get a bruise. By the day following treatment, there are absolutely no restrictions.
Thank you for your question. A sling procedure for congenital ptosis allows your forehead muscles to lift your droopy eyelid. That muscle in the forehead is the same muscle that causes forehead wrinkles. If you treat that muscle with Botox you are likely to have difficulty lifting your eyelid properly while the Botox is working.
