I have been going to doctor Swengel in the past three years. And I always happy with the treatments that Dr. Swengel provided for me every time. Dr. Swengel listened to my concern and gave me suggestions and treatments based on what I need… I would never trust any other clinics since I had bad experience with other clinics before.
I had Infi RF and and subcision done last year. Decent result and reasonable price. Dr. Swengel is an expert when it comes to acne scars. He is probably one of the best in the bayarea. Would recommend this treatment if you can't have a long down/recovery time.
This is my second Infini/PRP treatment and I couldn't be happier! The first time about 2 years ago I did the regular infini treatment and was very pleased with the results! This time my doctors office had just upgraded there infini machine to a infini Genius. I guess this device is suppose to give more control on where and how much RF gos into the skin. My doctor also changed his numbing technique to using a cannula to delivery the numbing medicine under the skin, which is so great for people with acne scaring because it actual subsides the scare and release the tether that pulls the scare down. Before we got stared with the treatment I told the doctor that I also hoped to get some lift out of my treatment . I am one of those patients who likes to get the most bang for my buck. I can say that he really did listen to this request. when I was done with my treatment I was a little startled when i looked in the mirror because I was pretty swollen. My face did not have very much needle marks tho even less then regular infini which was nice. I decided to stick around the office for about an hour just to see if I was going to get more swollen . The doctor gave me a few tables of prednisone to take home just in case (which I never ended up using). after being upright for after 30 minted I could tell that the swelling was starting to going down. By an hour I felt ready to leave. I chose to left my body have the extra swelling instead of taking the prednisone because swelling is the bodies natural healing response and I didn't want to interfere with that. That night I double up my pillow to keep my head elevated and I was less swollen in the morning. It took about 3 days for the majority of the swelling to go almost completely away and I experience a sightly longer recovery process this time around. However I believe this is because my doctor spent about 20 minutes going under the skin and doing subcision on my acne scare . This alone I have read will create swelling. my skin peeled a little on day 4 and by day five I felt completely confidant in make-up again . I am a little over 2 weeks out since I had the treatment and I can say it has made a big deference. My skin looks tighter, smoother, scare are less noticeable and my skin is definitely more lifted. I would say between infini and infin/ Genius both are great but the main Deference between the two treatments that I see at this point is my skin is more lifted after the Genius. I also really really believe in the benefits PRP and think combining these treatments are brilliant because I think this it make a huge deference in the collagen regrowth. Finally I wouldn't consider go to any other office for this type of treatment because the doctor and the whole staff at refined dermatology are amazing, thorough plus reasonable priced.
Dr. Swengel's in Los Gatos, Ca staff was great during my cool sculpting treatment. The treatment plan was well explained, the room for the treatment was like the spa quite peaceful and comfortable. I had time to catch up on emails, listen to music even do my nails! The staff made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions most importantly they made sure I felt like family. Overall I had an awesome experience with minimal pain which is expected and communicated To me prior to my procedures and the results are gradual but worth it. Definitely recommended office as well as Coolsculpting treatment. It really works!!
After many years of diet and exercise post babies, CoolSculpting finally has me back to the point of feeling comfortable not only in my clothing, but also my own skin. The hype is true my friends, IT WORKS. Dr. Swengel's staff @ Refined Derm were amazing. Not only did they set the expectations of what my results could be, but also, they entirely set the expectations of the treatment, pre & post. The plan was individualized to ME and during the assessment, they walked me through each problem area I had and explained how the applicator would be placed on treatment day. Treatment day came along and I relaxed and returned emails on my phone while undergoing the treatment. I am about 10 weeks out and my results are fabulous and apparent. Who knew that there would come a day that fat removal could be done without surgery, needles or downtime?? I am so thankful I did this for myself. Thanks Dr. Swengel and Staff, I recommend the CoolSculpting treatment and this practice to anyone looking.
was referred to Dr. Swengel's office for Cool Sculpting of my abdomen and flanks. After speaking to some people, I realized this office was the best place to go since so many people I talked to said they had their Cool Sculpting done there too. I decided to make an appointment and just do it. I had my treatment done by Eric. He is AMAZING! He made me feel so comfortable about the treatment! The treatment wasn't painful, I was basically numb after the first 15 minutes and I got to do some work on my laptop while getting the treatment done. The staff was friendly and my entire overall experience was great. Aside from the friendly staff, my results have been amazing. It has been about 6 weeks since my treatment, and though they say it takes 90 days to see the full results, I have definitely seen a good 2 inches off my waist since the treatment. I am so happy with my results and would refer everyone to Dr. Swengel's office!
Loved my coolscuplting procedure. It was easy, relatively pain free and very relaxing. I was able to watch movies and kick back while getting my treatment... way easier than going to the gym (and I'm somewhat of a "gym rat"). I was able to get rid of the extra chub around my belly! Excellent experience
I am 52 years old. I was using juvederm fillers for the past 5 years which lasted about 6 months. Then I paid $1800 for voluma, and that was gone in a few months, so I decided to try Radiesse since you get more volume of filler for your money. I paid $1363.00 for 3 vials- 4.5 cc. The results looked really good, but only lasted 3 months. The older I get it seems that you have to get more filler and none of them last. If you are very wealthy and can afford to pay for more filler every 3 months then you can look younger, but otherwise we are just making a doctors and companies very rich without really attaining a younger look.
I was referred to doctor swengel by my cousin and I must say best decision ever , the staff is very professional and caring and I could be happier with my lip injections thanks you dr. Swengel for a wonderful experience getting my lip filler i will definitely be back and wouldn't go to any other doctor !
Oh Why didn't I do this sooner! I've always had dark circles under my eyes, but in the last 10 years or so, they've gotten a lot worse. Not only do I get the "You look so tired" remark on a daily basis, but It's so bad I don't even want to look in the mirror anymore I decided to do something about it. Searching the internet I found realself.com. The stories and reviews posted here gave me some hope that Juvaderm or Restylane might work for me. I did some local research and decided to go to Refined Dermatology, the practice of Dr. Steven Swangel located here in Los Gatos. At my initial consultation, I was impressed by all the office staff, and especially Eric, who is very knowledgeable and advised me that Restylane would be a better choice than Juvaderm for the eye area. I then met with Dr. Swangel and after a careful examination of my eye circles, he explained how he would go about using Restylane correct my eyes. He said that my eye hollows and dark circles were fairly extensive so fixing them would be more complicated. Dr. Swengel assured me that he would try his best. Of course, I was worried about bruising and swelling. Dr Swengel said he sees bruising infrequently since he uses and cannula to inject the Restylane. He did add that would probably experience some swelling. I won't call the procedure painless, but it was certainly tolerable. Dr. Swengel had to use three syringes of Restylane. As for the result, It's been only three days and I still have some puffiness under the eyes, but already I see a big difference. I will see Dr. Swangel in another couple of weeks since I may need another syringe for touch up. My eyes were that bad. I'm sorry I don't have a really good "before" picture. The one I posted really doesn't show how bad my eyes were. I took the "after" picture on Friday, just one day after the procedure. My eyes are still puffy but I can definitely see improvement. I have so much confidence in Dr. Swengel now, that I'm going to have him use Bellafill in my Naso-labial folds. They're pretty bad too. I asked about Restylane for this area but Dr. Swangel says Bellafill is better. He said it gives a smoother result, causes less bruising, and the result is permanent. It costs more, but not that much more. I can't say that Dr. Swengel is inexpensive, but I am more than happy with the result.
Hello, thank you for your question and your pictures. Without seeing your skin in person it is hard to say if you will scar. It is normal and typical that if you are treating a spider vein or any vascular lesion that it becomes darker and sometimes scab. This is the only way for it to be injured and for it to go away. Sometimes after these treatments patients are left with a pink scar that will slowly fade away within the coming weeks. I would suggest you keep an open line of communication with your provider and maybe they can suggest products to help the area heal faster and promote better skin rebuild. Hope this help, regards Dr. S.
Hello, thank you for your question. There is no contraindication of having a tetanus injection and Botox treatment close together. Hope this helps, Dr. S.
Hello, thank you for your question. There would be no problem to have your eyebrows threaded 5 days after you receive a Botox treatment. Botox was injected directly in the muscles that will be relaxed and having your eyebrows done will not affect this. Regards, Dr. S.
Hello, thank you for your question. I do not believe that the pain you are experiencing in between your eyebrows and nose is related to the Botox treatment you had 4 months ago. Botox is a medicine that works on the muscles and synapses of our nerve endings for a short time. As like any medicine its effects only last so long and then the body metabolizes out. If you continue to have pain I would suggest you follow up with your primary doctor to get further studies and evaluations. Good luck. Dr. S.
Hello, thank you for your question. I am very sorry that his is happening to you. There unfortunately is not any enzyme, solution or injectable that can be used to reverse the effects of Dysport. As you probably know, Dysport works as a medicine on the muscles of your face. The effects of that medicine last 3-4 months, but sometimes they may last less time. If you are experiencing all these symptoms I would recommend you visit your primary doctor and get an evaluation and some work-up. Hope this helps, good luck to you, Dr. S.
