There is no evidence that patients with Ehlers Danlos won't have good results with fillers. Keep in mind, a combination approach would give the most improvement. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. i do not foresee you having an issue with fillers and your condition. I would recommend going to a board certified plastic surgeon or a registered nurse working under one to have this treatment done
Ehlers Danlos relates to how your body produces the varies connective tissues of the body. The dysfunction is in creation of collagen and elastic fibers. Hyaluronic acid fillers are really space fillers; the body really just degrades these over time. Even though fillers haven't specifically been studied in this area, there should be no reason that you cannot be treated. The condition should not have any effect on the results. Best of luck.
There is no contraindication to get filler in Ehlers Danlos or other connective tissue disease.BestDr Karamanoukian
As far as I know, there is no issue having filler if you have Ehlers Danlos. Schedule a consultation with a really experienced injector to be examined in person and discuss options. A combination of procedures will typically lend the best results.
You should not have issues with Juvederm for your smile lines even with your condition. I would consult with a local facial plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns and go from there.
Ehlers danlos is caused by a genetic abnormality in collagen production. There are several different types. I see no reason why you could not get filler in your lips or nasolabial folds. I would definitely use a hyaluronic acid filler that could be dissolved if there was an unforeseen problem. You may have more bruising than average, so plan ahead. Lana Long, MD
