My sister is having a tummy tuck and lipo to the waist and abdomen. 1 week after that she will then have a breast lift and lipo to the back. Is this safe? Her PS explains that as she has to get a lot of lipo then it will be safer to do the 2 surgeries separate. Thank You for your answers.
Thank you for your question. I think the reason surgery is being separated is because there is a limit to how much liposuction can be performed in the state of Florida when it is combined with other surgeries.
I usually separate cosmetic surgical sessions by a minimum of six weeks, sometimes 3 months. I have no data that suggests waiting a week is unsafe. It is just nice to give people some time to recover and wait for the bruising and swelling to go down. That way, if any refinement needs to be done on the first surgery, it can be easily done at the second surgery.
It is a judgment call on the part of her surgeon. I hope this helps.
Hi, I am wondering if it would be possible for me to get a breast lift without implants? I love having small breasts but I just hate how saggy they are and how low my areolas sit.I think my breasts really suit my body when in a bra even though they are small and I would really rather not get implants.
Thank you for your question and the photos. Yes, you can have a breast lift without implants. The only difficulty is that fullness in the upper part of your breast is usually only long lasting with the addition of a small implant.
Another possibility to consider is a small amount of fat transfer (fat grafting) in the upper part of your breast at the time of breast lift. It could give you that little extra you are hoping for without the implant.
To be sure, see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery. I hope this helps.
I am 24 years old and looking to get a breast uplift from a weight loss of 7 stone. I want young perky breast that are full as I have always had a large chest. I have been to a few different doctors. This is where the problem is. Too start some have said they can do the lollipop, others say anchor. Then some are saying implants will give me the look I want, others are saying no that I don't need them, and lastly others are saying that they wont do the lift with the implant? Please help me!
Thank you for your question and the photos. Whether you have implants placed or not, you will likely need all three incisions to appropriately remove the excess skin for a breast lift. To be sure, see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery. I hope this helps.
