Should I Avoid Second Hand Smoke in a Casino 5 Days Before Breast Lift?

I am having a bilateral mastopexy in 5 days. I would like to go out tomorrow night with my husband (possibly to a casino) and there will be smoking. Should I not go because of the second hand smoke? I am not smoking but I am worried about being around it before my surgery. Thank you so much.

A: Smoking and surgery

Even second hand smoke can hurt your result and result in significant complications as noted as the other physicians that answered.

I also like to point out that even the nicotine patches, nicotine gum, and the like can hurt your result.  To minimize complication risk, minimize your exposure to any form of nicotine.

I hope this helps, good luck!

Are my Breasts Still Sitting Low After Breast Lift and Augmentation?

I am 8 weeks post op from breast lift (lollipop)and cohesive gel implants(above the muscle). I am experiencing rippling around my breasts in which is apparently normal for my size however to me they seem to sit lower than I was told they would and when they are manually "lifted" the rippling appears to deminish. Could they have been positioned higher and could this be partially affecting the rippling? Im concerned that I will need a re-lift in the near future if they sit this low 8 weeks post op

A: ? Bottoming out

Your result  looks quite good!  If I had performed this surgery, I would be pleased with the result-

The Lateral rippling is due to the soft tissue limitations of your natural breast tissue (note your left breast is smaller and has less soft tissue than the right)

Fat Grafting over these implants would improve your result greatly-  See the attached link

Downtime For Breast Lift with Implants? I Am a Daycare Teacher.

Hello. If I decide to have a breast lift with implants for how long would it be recommended for me to stay home from work? I am a daycare teacher. Thank you.

A: Down time after breast augmentation and lift

You should discuss down time and all aspects of your recovery with your plastic surgeon.  In general, 1 week off from work is sufficient, but I instruct my patients to avoid heavy exertion of the arms and chest for 4 weeks so that the tissues can heal.  On the other hand, I also instruct  them to resume their everyday activities as soon as possible.  Laying around and getting stiff is always counterproductive.
