Can a Person with No Hair Loss Get Hair Transplant?

If someone (a woman) naturally has thin hair without loss over time, and wants fuller and  thicker hair, would she be a good candidate for Hair transplant?

A: Can a Person with No Hair Loss Get Hair Transplant?

Only a small % of women that I see in my practice are good candidates for hair transplants, due to the fact that it's typically diffused thinning all over.

Another area of concern would be if you have no hair loss, when you make the incisions in the recipient area, you are at risk of damaging the existing hair follicles. Often times you will have a net loss.

We would want to look at the scalp and follicles under magnification to determine if this would be worthwhile for the patient.

What to Do with Bald Patch After Facelift?

I have a bald patch above my ear and slightly in front of each. Its like the sideburn is higher and almost gone. I had a very weak hairline before my facelift. The other side is fine. What can be done to rectify this?

A: Bald Patch after face lift

Unfortunately, you are looking at an older type of lifting procedure.

The newer type of lifts will give you an incision that is 60% to 70% shorter.

Micro Foliicular Grafts can be used to fill  in the area that is problematic.

What Kind of Laser to Use on Cobblestoned Skin from Hair Transplant?

i had a hair transplant recently (about 4 months ago) that left me with little bumps that look like goose bumps. in addition the recipient area skin seems to be raised like there is a new layer of tissue that has formed under it.

is there any specific type of laser that can help with these things? im debating between active fx and fraxel restore but im open to other suggestions. thank u for ur time!

A: Hair Transplant Bumps

It takes about 8 months for all new hair to mature after a hair transplant.

Treating the areas with lasers will only increase the chance of new hair being damaged potentially.

Once you reach the 8 month mark re-evaluate condition.
