Thank you to everyone at Dr. Wakelin’s office. I had a wonderful experience with great care. I’m very happy with my results. I look forward to going back for my next procedure. Highly recommended!!!!!
I’ve had a few procedures done and always leave with the best results. Dr. Wakelin and his staff are amazing and quick to help with questions and concerns. Dr. Wakelin is honest and upfront about what he can do and what results to expect. I now have my confidence back after struggling with my appearance after having twins. As I age, I will continue to see this team for “touch ups.” Confidence is important! Forever grateful for Dr. Wakelin and his team!
I had been dealing with shoulder pain for years and after various specialists, PT, dry needling, massages, etc. I asked if it could possibly be due to my G sized breasts on my 5'2" frame. Finally, my spine doctor agreed it could be the issue. Dr. Wakelin had already performed a tummy tuck during my hysterectomy, so I was comfortable returning to him. The consultation went well, and I explained my issue. He took measurements and said I was a great candidate. Of course, my insurance didn’t agree as their “height/weight/how much to remove” scale is very severe, and they denied my pre-authorization. Kiersten (his care coordinator) helped me battle with them for 6 months. Eventually I knew that it would be another year before I got to the peer review, so I decided to just pay out of pocket and fight with insurance after the procedure. Day of surgery was great. Dr. Wakelin came in and did his drawings and confirmed the size I wanted to be. The nurse in recovery was awesome and kept checking my pain levels and finally got them leveled out. The pain wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, everything felt very sensitive. I saw him the next day for the post op, and everything looked great. They changed out my dressing and gave me my orders for the next 6 weeks. I also had lateral chest lipo done as well and that is worse than the reduction. The most difficult part for me at first was sleeping as I’m not a back sleeper and I was uncomfortable. By a week and a half, I didn’t even need Advil during the day, just something to help at night. I’m still very swollen where the lipo was performed but that is to be expected. I’m a couple of days from the 3-week mark where I can lift and raise my arms again and I feel like I will be ready. Just need to be patient and wait for the final results. However, the shoulder and back pain are gone which is what I was most concerned about. I can’t wait to go back to exercising and shopping and be so much more comfortable!
When you have friends that work in the operating room and they recommend Dr. Wakelin you go see Dr. Wakelin. He definitely lived up to his great reputation: he and his team are awesome. They were professional and made me feel comfortable, listened to what it was that I wanted to achieve, answered all my questions and gave me realistic expectations. I had a full abdominoplasty and hernia repair with flank liposuction and mastopexy with lateral chest wall liposuction. My results are amazing AND even better than I could of expected at 6 weeks postop! Despite the commitment to a healthy lifestyle after having kids my body just wasn’t the same, so thank you for giving me ME back!
Dr. Wakelin performed a mommy makeover surgery on me which included a breast augmentation, hernia repair, abdominalplasty and lipo of the flanks and did amazing. Every question I had was answered in a timely manner and went above and beyond all my expectations of how my first surgery ever was going to go. Currently on the mend and can't wait to see the final results because it already looks amazing!
After looking at myself in photos and seeing how much of an impact my under eye bags had on my appearance, I decided to do something about it. I'm very happy I did. I chose Dr. Wakelin because of his experience, keen eye for detail, reputation and experience as a board-certified plastic surgeon. The procedure was easy, my first time under general anesthesia. I had a lower blepharoplasty with fat grafting. Admittedly, I looked like a took a beating due to bruising and swelling, but never was I in any pain. I made certain to follow post-op instructions and as every day passed, I looked much better. I feel like this procedure has taken years off of my appearance and I would highly recommend it if you share concerns similar to mine. I also highly recommend Dr. Wakelin at Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery.
Dr Wakelin and his team were wonderful to work with from beginning to end. Everyone took their time explaining everything and making sure I was comfortable with each step of the process. I am 2 days post-op and am so excited to continue to see my results as they settle in!
I Absolutely love Dr. Wakelin!!! He and his team are the best. I received amazing care, follow up was great and they were always available for anything I needed. I had multiple procedures done and they were great with all of my questions, even when I needed to come back to try on again to make sure I was picking the right size.
Great experience and great results! Super happy with Dr.Wakelin and his team. Only 6-weeks post-op and feel amazing! Thanks so much for listening to me and delivering want I wanted! I have already referred a friend. Location is convenient and scheduling was easy.
I’ve always been busty. Even in my teen years I was a C/D. After having children and breastfeeding I was a 34J. After losing the baby weight I couldn’t get smaller than a G. Even with vigorous exercise. At 39 years old and my youngest child at 6 years of age I decided it was time to get a reduction. The other women that have shared their journey on RealSelf gave me the courage to take the next steps. At my consult with Dr. Wakelin he listened to my concerns and assured me that I was great candidate for the surgery. His assistants had excellent communication with me and my insurance, they made sure that insurance had as much info as possible, so it could be covered. I had medical records from my OBGYN, neurologist and physical therapist sent to his office. They made sure all the Ts were crossed and Is were dotted. The day of the surgery the nurses were excellent. Calm and reassuring. Surgery was quick but when I woke up I definitely felt nauseous. There was quite a bit of pain for me, a burning sensation. They gave me pain meds. My first few days at home were rough. I barely moved, but each day I made slow improvements. I will post pictures of the bruising and swelling. About 2 weeks post op I got a bad rash on my body. The doctor prescribed steroids which helped tremendously. Cause was somewhat inconclusive, but it was thought I had a delayed allergic reaction to the surgical topical solution. As I write this I’m 2 months post op and SO happy and grateful. Clothes fit me so much better. My breasts are more proportionate to my small frame. I highly recommend Dr. Wakelin at Columbus Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery! Scares are healing nicely, I’m sure in time they will be even better. Updated on 1 Aug 2022: Scars are continuing to fade. My size has stabilized to a 32D. My sides are numb still, I have no nipple sensation on one side. Breast tissue is soft again. Absolutely no regrets, I should of done this years ago! Buying swimwear and formal dresses is no longer an emotional event!
Congratulations on your weight loss! From the appearance of your photos I would definitely recommend a lift, and smooth round implants will likely be your best option to help restore some of the fullness to the upper pole of your breasts. This can be done in a way that is very natural. The size of your implant should be based upon in-person discussions with your board-certified Plastic Surgeon, so that you feel comfortable with the volume that you are choosing to have added to your breasts. Best of luck to you!
I recommend following your surgeon's recommendations regarding activity after your surgery. However, you should absolutely be able to be active and play basketball after your recovery period. Best of luck to you!
Your questions are very good, but they are fundamental to the plan that you should be discussing with your surgeon prior to surgery. From your photos it appears that you would likely benefit from a lift, but it may not be absolutely necessary. The sizing of your implants can have an impact on this as well. I recommend determining the best size to meet your volume goals with your surgeon, and then determine if a lift would help you reach your goals.
Since each rhinoplasty surgery is different, I strongly recommend following your surgeon's postoperative instructions. I typically recommend that my patients sleep with their head elevated for the first 2-3 nights to help decrease swelling. I also remove splints after a week in most cases. Nonetheless, your surgeon may have reasons to recommend different postoperative care, so you should follow his or her recommendations. Best of luck!
You appear to be an excellent candidate for breast augmentation to accomplish larger, fuller breasts, improve your symmetry, and accomplish what would appear to be a lifting effect. Based upon your photos it does not appear that you would need a formal breast lift, but an exam in person is the best way to determine this.
