I have HMO insurance, and was convinced that the HMO wouldn't cover my breast reduction surgery. So I went out and started interviewing other doctors. Found one that I really like, and was ready to go. Then, low and behold, Kaiser said they would cover the surgery. Saving $10K sounds great, but I can't find out anything much about the HMO doctor, and that makes me nervous. Would it be inappropriate to go back to the private guy (long-time, well-established locally) and ask him?
Asking one surgeon to comment about another is tricky business! The surgeon with your HMO may be an excellent surgeon who prefers the security of known income. Saving ten thousand dollars to get an inferior result is not a good decision. But you may disover that you can enjoy the saving and obtain a very good result as well. It may be worthwhile to at least meet the HMO surgeon. Either way, I hope that you have a first rate surgical experience and result!
I'm 41 and have lost 100 pounds in last 3 years w/WLS. Breasts appear to sag, but nipples are above inframammary fold. Want to lift breasts to look more perky and fix inverted nipples at same time. Do not want implants. Will mastopexy help me without implants? I don’t care about breast size…just want them back where they belong! Will do small-arm brachioplasty at the same time...could that procedure also help the appearance of my breasts by pulling up tissue vertically? Thank you for your time!
Since you indicated that you have no interest in increasing your breast size, a mastopexy without implants may provide exactly the outcome what you want. As long as you're realistic in your expectations, this procedure should give you a dramatic and, hopefully, gratifying result.
Any experienced plastic surgeon should also be able to perform a simultaneous and safe correction of your inverted nipples.
I do agree with unanimous opinion, that a small-arm brachioplasty will not add to the ability of a mastopexy to rejuvenate your breasts.
I would encourage you to proceed with those surgical plans!
I just found out im pregnant and was planning to have a breast lift reduction combo and i want to know if i can still do that being pregnant?
In a word, "No".
You should not undergo any type of elective surgery while pregnant.
Wait until after delivery and breastfeeding before having anything done to your breasts.
