I am considering tumescent laser liposculpture. The doctor I am considering is certified by American Board of Laser Surgery (not plastic surgery) and claims that he performed 5000+ cosmetic surgeries. I have not found other doctors who offer combination of tumescent and laser hi-def liposculpture on Minneapolis, MN. I wonder if this doctor's certification is sufficient for me to both be safe (i.e. not die or get infection) and to expect good results (no lumps or uneven sides).
For any cosmetic surgery procedure, particularly laser assisted liposculpture, it is extremely important that your surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This assures you that he/she has undergone rigorous training and testing. This doesn't guarantee that problems won't occur, but it definitely minimizes the risks.
What is the best thing to do after Tumescent Liposuction for swelling?
Liposuction will cause a bruise over a large area and the key to controlling swelling is a well fitted compression garment. Initially the garment will be very tight as it keeps swelling under control, and will noticeable loosen as you progress in your recovery. As the garment become looser we transition to a very snug Spanx which is more comfortable for daily wear and work.

I had Tumescent liposuction on my arms on May 29, 2009. I still have a lot of pain. I am not draining anymore, and the incisions have healed nicely. Is there anything I can do to reduce the pain my arms?
Though you mention you arms are not longer draining you are far from being fully healed. The inflammation will last a bit longer and an over the counter anti-inflammatory is your best bet for comfort.
Best of luck,
