Is It Ok To Get Juvederm over Fat Grafting To Add Additional Volume?

I had fat grafting on my cheeks three months ago. Is it all right to have Juvederm injected over this area? I would like a little more volume. My surgeon said it can take a year for the fat to completley take.

A: Juvederm over fat grafting

Ideally, the fat that is injected will give a permanent result within about 2 months.   I would recommend adding extra fat.   It is not dangerous to add Juvederm, you will just have a temporary result.

What is the Average Number of Juvederm Injections for Smoothing Skin Around the Mouth?

Is it possible to completely smooth out deep lines around the mouth?

A: Number of juvederm injections to smooth the skin around the mouth As pointed out by the other experts, it is impossible to say in advance how many SYRINGES (not NEEDLES) you will need to improve the appearance of the lines around your mouth. Furthermore, you have to understand that the results will be temporary, 6-8 months at best, possibly longer, possibly shorter. Having said that, depending on your age, the size of your face and the depth of the lines, you may need one to 3 or even possibly 4 syringes. The results can be very satisfying to the point that some patients come back sometimes even after 3 months for a " touch up".

Causes of Extreme Swelling Post-Juvederm? I've had It Several Times With No Problem.

I've been using the same injector for years with wonderful results. About a week ago, I went in for my usual touchup, which had given me incredible cheek definition inthe past. This last time not only did I bruised, but my whole face has swelled up. Gone are the high cheekbones, instead I have a round face pulling downward with jowls, even my almond eyes look downward as well. What could this be? Migration? Swelling, it's been 10 days since the procedure. Thanks for your advice.

A: Severe swelling after Juvederm injectionJu Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, a substance abundantly present in your skin. Juvederm is manufactured as a by- product of a bacterial (Streptococcus) culture. Some traces of STREP. protein may be present in Juvederm. Moderate swelling after Juvederm injections can occasionally occur. Severe swelling, like the o e you describe, isvery rare. You may have become allergic to the trace of protein in Juveder. Or to the Lidocaine in case you had one of the newer forms of Juvederm injected. A third possibility is an infection, but with this much swelling I would expect you to have pain and a fever. This would be an emergency for which you would need the services of an Infectious Diseases specialist. Finally, it could be severe bruising, easily recognizable by the purple color. If it is allergy, it will slowly If it is an allergic reaction, it will gradually subside. It is important to have Intradermal tests with Hyaluronic Acid and with Lidocaine.
