I had laser resurfacing 10 days ago and there are still a lot of lines around my chin. Is this normal? Will the skin eventually smooth out around my chin and match the rest of my face? As far as I can tell the surgery had NO effect what so ever on my chin, except that its red. Any advice is appreciated. The rest of my face looks great but doesn't match my chin area. Am I being impatient expecting my chin to look great as the rest of my face at the same time? Disappointed.
Treatment of lines or wrinkles in the perioral area (around the mouth) and chin can be quite successful, but also quite the process. Setting realistic expectations and having patience is key. I definitely encourage using pre- and post-treatment photos as a means to assess progress. I do not know what type of laser resurfacing you had done, either ablative (i.e. fractional CO2) or non-ablative resurfacing. I tend to have the best results in the perioral area with fractional CO2. In my experience, three treatments are needed to really go after the deep lines in this area. Ten days is still too soon to evaluate the true success of your treatment. Good luck!
I had Laser resurfacing 2 weeks ago and am experiencing what I can only call as painful acne (I have never had any acne issues before) around my mouth and eye areas that do not seem to be getting any better. I also have swelling of lower part of my face and wanted to find out if this in normal or anything I should be concerned with?
Acne breakouts, especially on the lower 1/2 of the face, can be seen a week or two following both ablative and non-ablative laser resurfacing. This tends to occur more often in individuals who have a past history of inflammatory (or painful) acne. Nonetheless, this can happen to anyone. Treatment for these post- treatment painful acne breakouts can be alleviated with oral antibiotics. However, it is extremely important to be evaluated by your doctor to ensure that what you have is indeed an acne flare and not a viral or different bacterial infection.
I had laser lipolysis on my neck three weeks ago, and have noticed that I have lumps which correspond to creases in the compression bandage I wore. Are these creases permanent, and what can I do (or have done *sigh*)?
Without posting photos very hard to advise. I recommend massage or external ultrasound therapies. Seek a boarded surgeon to help you.
