I feel like I need to raise my eyebrows constantly to get rid of the feelind that there is something on my eyelid, especially at the end of the day. I am considering surgery, however not sure about how long it would last and if I should wait a little to get older and get it done then. I am 30 years old, is it too young?

Answer: Eyelid surgery when young Anatomy is anatomy, regardless of age. Some patients have inherited anatomy that lends itself to early eyelid aging. Most likely your parents had similar problems at a young age. While cosmetic surgery is the big step, fortunately eyelid surgery is pretty minor compared to other procedures. I would suggest an upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) for a long lasting correction, rather than dabbling in non-surgical solutions for the next 10-15 years.

Answer: Considering Eyelid Treatment Thank you for your question and for sharing photographs. If you're looking for a more permanent solution to your concern, then cosmetic surgery (ie: upper eyelid blepharoplasty) is the best option. Patients who consider this type of surgery generally start to do so around their mid to late thirties (and beyond). Many younger patients consider trying non-invasive techniques first before surgery. Botox would be the best non-invasive technique for this concern. Botox can help the eyes appear more open and by doing so may reduce the amount of fullness you see in your upper eyelids. Botox treatments require minimal to no downtime and the effects of treatment start to wear off within three to four months. Undergoing any cosmetic procedure requires careful attention to detail and consideration for different options. Consider obtaining several opinions before moving forward with any given procedure. And always trust your face to a board-certified facial plastic surgeon or board-certified plastic surgeon.
