I cannot say enough incredible things about Dr. Kenneth Steinsapir and Faith Gomberg. My journey with fillers and dissolving them has been an absolute rollercoaster over the years consisting of a revolving door of providers who failed to adequately dissolve and correct my fillers.

I spent so much time and money trying to dissolve fillers that had migrated and caused unnatural, bloated results, only to be dismissed or gaslit by other practitioners who refused to acknowledge the problem. Many told me the fillers hadn’t migrated and insisted that I was crazy and that there wasn't any filler left in my face. This was incredibly emotionally and financially draining and left me depressed and confused as to the gut feelings I was having about my bad fillers and how it was negatively affecting my appearance.

I have later realized that many of these bad providers know little to nothing about how fillers can migrate, how dissolving enzymes work, and how to properly store dissolving agents so that they actually work upon injection. To anyone out there that feels that they have had bad filler results and have failed to dissolve them with other incompetent or dishonest providers, look no further.

Dr. Steinsapir is truly in a league of his own. He is one of the only injectors I’ve found across the internet who not only acknowledges the existence of migrating fillers but also deeply understands how to dissolve them. His expertise and nuanced approach to addressing these issues are unmatched. Unlike other providers, he didn’t dismiss me or brush me off. Instead, he took the time to explain exactly what was happening and ensured I received the correct amount of Hylenex to truly dissolve the problematic filler.

Over the years, Dr. Steinsapir and Faith have taken care of me with unparalleled knowledge, precision, and care. They have restored not just my appearance but also my trust in this process. They’re the only team I feel comfortable with when it comes to my face and money, and I know I’m in the best hands possible every time I see them.

After reading all of the Real Self reviews for Dr.Steinsapir, viewing the photos and videos on his website, and reviewing his responses to questions on Real Self, I called for help. I had a botched upper blepharoplasty and under eye fat transfer in late December 2023. I was told I would heal well and that I was just healing slower. I was told the scarring would go away in a couple years, after I was told it would originally dissipate in a few weeks. I had asked for a minor change to my upper eyelid, particularly my right eyelid which would hide my eyeliner because it was a little droopy. What a disWhen I woke up, my hooded eyelids were gone and I was told I would look more awake and refreshed and that people would not notice. I don't know how people would not notice I was missing eyelids and that I looked surprised round the clock...
So back to the better part of my story, Faith and Dr. Steinsapir. When I got ahold of Faith, I immediately felt a sense of relief. Faith knew what I was going through and she was well equipped to check in on my wellbeing. She was able to squeeze me into an appointment relatively quickly because of a cancellation.
Faith helped identify places to stay because I was from out of town, and she also gave me advice on eyedrops and gel to help improve my comfort while I waited.
Right before my appointment, I conveniently got a covid test across the street and was cleared for my visit.
Then, the magic happened...I met Faith! Faith was incredibly warm and welcoming. She helped me get my initial paperwork reviewed and prepared me to meet with Dr.Steinsapir. Faith is a great manager. She always made sure there was not overlap with anyone in the waiting room so that all of the patients would have privacy. She has a great attitude that is contagious.
The magic continued when I met with Dr.Steinsapir. I honestly thought he would look at me and say that he could not help me. My initial visit with Dr.Steinsapir was like a Mayo Clinic visit. He was very thorough in trying to understand what happened to me by reviewing the prior surgery notes, asking questions about my medical history, measuring my eyes, the dryness of my eyes, and then leaving me with some homework. I needed to follow up with local doctors on medical conditions and possible medical conditions that could impact the plan moving forward. Dr.Steinsapir also administered some 5FU to help with the prominent scarring on my upper eyelids which looked like angry red ropes.
As I followed up with doctors at home, I was able to get some medicine dosage optimized and answer Dr. Steinsapir's questions. This has improved my quality of life overall, so big shout out to Dr.Steinsapir on being so thorough.
Throughout the year, Faith would chime in periodically and check in on me. I would read the messages and hear them in her voice and they always had calming and positive effects.
After I received the medical information I needed from my doctors, I was able to schedule a follow-up appointment to check-in and hopefully make a game plan. I was done healing and still looked terrible. I looked older and unrecognizable to myself. My eyelids looks completely unnatural and my under eyes looked both hollow and lumpy at the same time. Dr.Steinsapir said I was ready for surgery and made a plan with me to help address my eyelids. He injected 5FU into the fat transfer and it helped with some of the lumpiness.
Faith was able to work some scheduling magic and get me in a few weeks later for surgery. In the meantime, I had several medical test results sent over to confirm I was cleared for surgery to secure my date. I was given meal and anti- supplements guidance for the month prior to the surgery.
The day before the surgery, I stopped by and got cleared of covid and picked up supplies from the pharmacy in Dr.Steinsapir's building. I left the supplies with Faith who handed them off the next day to Janice, my nurse.
During the pre-op meeting we confirmed the gameplan and set a time for the next day.
I showed up the next day in my stretchiest sweatpants and ready for surgery. I consulted with the nurse and anesthesiologist who were also kind and friendly. I asked for the least anesthesia possible because I am a lightweight, and she delivered. I stayed comfortable during the surgery and was able to respond to Dr.Steinsapir when needed.
Dr. Steinsapir reconstructed my eyelids. Tendons had to be reattached. The fat pad on my left eye had fused to the orbital rim and had to be dissected and put back in place. There was some part of my anatomy missing and he just dealt with it. My creases were lowered. My mess was very complicated. This is not something just anyone could repair. When I visited a local eye institute, they cautioned against further surgery because of how complicated my issue was. When I said I was meeting someone named Dr.Steinsapir in California to help me, they were relieved. I had people tell me to go to Korea, but when I get the opportunity to go to Korea, I want it to be for fun. And, if I had surgical complications in Korea, I wouldn't even know how to begin to address that.
When surgery wrapped up, Janice was there to pick me up and take me to the hotel to take care of me overnight. Janice was also very kind and professional, making sure I took meds, food, and iced my face as needed. Janice delivered me to my follow-up appointment the next day and brought me back to my hotel. Upon reflection, hanging out with Janice another day would have been a good idea because I kept blurring my vision with the gel and Janice was a pleasure to be around. I was never in extreme pain or discomfort after the surgery.
I stayed about a week after the surgery and visited a few times in person to check in. I had my sutures removed and off I went to the airport. With my mask and sunglasses nobody noticed the bruising.

In short, botched or not, Dr. Steinsapir will make your oculoplastic dreams come true.

If you're reading the reviews here, you're likely in the same place I was a few months ago---in utter despair after having a terrible blepheroplasty.

I thought I did everything right--I live in the UK, had my upper bleph done here by a high profile ocular plastic surgeon who also came recommended by my dermatologist so I really thought I was in great hands. We agreed it wouldn't be drastic, just a very subtle lifting of the lids that were pushing down on my lashes. That's the exact opposite of what I got--instead he was extremely aggressive with how much skin was removed, the scars were very high above the crease and they were uneven. I knew right away it was wrong but let the surgeon convince me that it would settle, he said he was confident. I couldn't see how that was possible given all the skin that folded over was removed. By week 2 I knew I was being gaslit and was on the phone with the team here. Faith was wonderful, and said to wait a few weeks for swelling to go down and come in to LA.

I flew in a month after my original procedure and it was such an immediate relief. Dr Steinsapir spent a long time examining me, giving me the straight talk on what could and couldn't be done and reassuring me that not only wasn't I crazy, but giving me the vocabulary to explain why I was so upset at the result, and that he could help rectify it. Just having someone understand, and give me the words to express myself felt like a weight off my shoulders.

I had to wait 6 months for my reconstruction to allow the full swelling to go down and in that 6 months not once was I able to recognise myself in the mirror, the results were that bad, I was miserable. I genuinely thought I would have to live the rest of my life with that really harsh, weird, sunken look the other surgeon gave me and was completely in despair. 

You will never feel like you're on some kind of conveyor belt when you work with Dr Steinsapir and Faith. They spend a lot of time to examine you, explain what's going to happen and prepare you for what is a really big procedure, especially as you're likely really fragile from dealing with a horrible previous outcome. I know I was, and I'm not normally a fragile person.

It's now been 4.5 weeks since my reconstruction and to say that I'm amazed is an understatement. I NEVER thought I would again be able to recognise myself, and look like me again. Dr Steinsapir lowered the crease so my eyes now look natural, the scars are actually hidden in that crease and the sunken look is gone.  For those in despair---please, know there is hope. I know there is still a lot of healing to do, and I'm insanely impatient for it but if I already look like this after just a month I can't wait to see what months 2, 3 and 4 look like.

I'm not going to lie--this is something you need to commit to. There is a very strict diet protocol to follow which I did to the letter. And as much as I hated doing so, it made a huge difference in my healing--I went from being massively swollen and dark purple day 1 to almost all the bruising gone by week 3. Every single member of the team here is exceptional. Of course Dr Steinsapir is a miracle worker and I don't use that term lightly. There isn't a single other person I would have trusted, or believe could have gotten these results. Faith is like a badass mother-hen who makes sure that you have everything sorted, keeps you informed, checks up on you, coordinates your meds and supplies, and liaises on all the details. The nursing/anesthetist team (I had Lori and Kieran) were absolutely brilliant with a very nervous, very needle-phobic, slightly terrified me.

If you're lucky enough to be researching doctors for your first bleph--book it here, you won't have to go through the agony others have. If you are like I was: absolutely miserable and knowing deep in your gut that your results are terrible and you feel like you made the biggest mistake of your life, desperate to turn back time---there is hope. I promise I know how you're feeling, I was there. And now I'm here :)

I had a botched upper and lower blepharoplasty with another plastic surgeon that changed my life. My lower lids were so droopy that I couldn’t close my eyes. My upper lids had a very high crease that left my eyes looking sunken in and old. I was depressed and crying every day. I started having anxiety and would suffer an anxiety attack anytime I left my house. I thought this is what my life would be like forever. All I wanted to do was die.

I started searching for surgeons that specialize in revision surgeries. I was reading through reviews and Dr Steinsapir stood out above the rest. But then I realized he was in Hollywood, California. I figured there would be no way I could ever afford a surgeon like that. I’m just a regular person working as a nurse in Michigan. I am by no means rich. My friend talked me into calling anyway just to see what they said, and then Faith answered the phone. She was my angel.

She spent so much time on the phone with me and she was finally someone that understood exactly what I was feeling, what I was going through, and how much I was suffering. She is a kind, caring and genuine person that wants to help people. I felt so comfortable with her. She convinced me to come and meet Dr Stiensapir. When I hung up the phone with her, I finally had hope.

When I met Dr Steinsapir, I knew right away that he was just as caring and empathetic as Faith was. He was very educated and knowledgeable. While confident in his skills, he never came off as arrogant.

He took his time and went over everything with me. He answered all my questions. I never felt rushed or embarrassed by a question I was asking. He did a thorough exam, made sketches of my eyes, took measurements and photos. We discussed all my options and his recommendations that were tailored specifically to my needs.

I decided to move forward and book my surgery with Dr Steinsapir. In the meantime, anytime I had questions or concerns, he was always just a phone call away. Dr Steinspair would call me back personally to discuss them. Anytime that I needed some extra help and encouragement to make it through the day without falling apart, I could always call and talk to Faith. She really cares about her patients. You don’t feel like you’re just another patient being rushed through the process. You really feel like she is your friend.

Everything went great with surgery, and I am so happy with the improvement it has made. They are just as wonderful with the after care and follow up. Again, I am a nurse, and have met many surgeons, but never one that measures up to Dr Steinsapir. He is not only extremely knowledgeable and talented, but also empathetic, kind, caring, and compassionate. His entire team is top notch! He truly is an expert at what he does. I am so thankful and forever grateful for the care they gave me. Please, if you are suffering like I was, just make the call. It could give you your life back.

Failed medpor cheek implant with lower lid retraction

Short story: I had a very difficult problem where my left eyelid was retracted and my left cheek implant (medpor) was too large. Dr Steinsapir removed the inappropriate implant, placed a better one and corrected my eyelid all in the same procedure. I used to be disfigured with strangers asking me what's wrong with my eye. Now, I have my face back and I couldn't be happier. Faith was there all along to make this whole thing an incredible experience.

Long story: I was a very difficult case because I had an infected implant that messed up my eye and cheek. I sought help elsewhere and even a top facial implant surgeon refused to take my case. It was so discouraging... good luck trying to find a surgeon that's willing and able to remove a medpor cheek implant. I almost gave up and resigned myself to live with my damaged eye.

However, Dr Steinsapir, Faith and their team saved me!! I traveled internationally for this work and it was so worth it. Dr Steinsapir is extremely meticulous. Not counting surgery time, he spent close to 10 hours examining me 1:1 . I never received so much attention from a doctor in my entire life. Their office runs like a well oiled machine, and Faith is an amazing person. It was so nice to have her support over the phone and in person during these difficult times.

Dr Kenneth Steinsapir has given me hope and a solution when all other doctors have dismissed me or misdiagnosed me - believe me, I have consulted with all the well known top eye surgeons in the UAE, UK and USA.

In late March 2023 my life changed drastically following a terrible outcome of an elective upper blepharoplasty surgery in Dubai with the goal to maintain a youthful appearance.

We all have different motivations for turning to cosmetic surgery, I’ll share mine, in case it resonates with anyone. As a beautiful, single gal with a pleasing personality in my late 30s I’ve been perplexed at the stars not aligning to bring in love and companionship to my life. For years prior I had been optimising (in a fun way) all areas of my life (mindset and meditation, hobbies, education, wardrobe revamp, heath and fitness, relationship and dating courses and coaches - the works!) and still I was unsuccessful in attracting a suitable guy. Although I was enjoying my life and keeping a light heartedness about everything, the disappointment in the back of my head was slowly chipping away at my self confidence. I started to ask myself what am I still not addressing? This is when I started visiting a cosmetic clinic to get some advice on my facial appearance. I met a wonderful, balanced doctor at that clinic and had a number of filler/Botox services over the course of a year that filled me with confidence and put my trust in the clinic. Still single, I continued to go to the clinic but there had been a change in doctors. The new doctor started to advise me that my eyes were my “problem” (in fact my eyes are a very unique greeny, browny, yellowish colour and were my best feature) and advised to get upper and lower blepharoplasty. Given my prior happy results from the clinic and putting my trust in the clinic and in turn the new doctor I went ahead with the surgery. The surgery appeared to go well, however, looking back it was a dreadful decision. After one and a half years my eyelids were appearing somewhat floppy and uneven and I went back to the doctor for a consultation only to find another doctor (the 3rd doctor) at the same clinic. Without even mentioning my concerns on my eyes, this 3rd doctor told me I needed a revision upper blepharoplasty. Again, putting my trust in the same clinic, but with a new surgeon who sounded very confident and informed me how easy the surgery would be, I scheduled it in late March 2023.

When I woke up from the surgery I knew something was wrong but could not figure out what. I had huge head swelling (not normal), very bad bruising around my eyes, random stitches across my eyelids (not a single thread stitch), my eyes didn’t seem to be closing tightly and both my eyelids had a very high and uneven eyelid crease and looked very hollow. Furthermore I had an uneven very pronounced scar on both eyes from the inner corner of my eyes to the tip of my outer eyebrow. My eyes appeared large and bulging. The doctor gaslit me into this being a normal outcome and that I’m not being patient enough to allow for healing. I went through blepharoplasty before so I understood it should be 7-10 days for initial healing (bruising to go away, stitches to come out etc), however I’m no expert so I did my best to trust the process. Two months later and I was still not through with the initial healing (dry eye symptoms, eye swelling, random stitches still in my eyelids causing discomfort, severe scaring and a drastic change for the worse in my appearance). This is when I decided to search for answers. I researched like crazy and found the top eye surgeons and ophthalmologists in the UAE and had a 30min - 1hr in-person consultations with each. They all gave conflicting prognoses confusing me. Then I reached out to the best of the best eye surgeons in the UK and had an online video consultation, again the prognosis seemed to be inconsistent with no concrete healing plan. After that, I reached out to highly rated eye surgeons in the USA and had several online video consultations (approx 30 mins) that were extremely expensive and gave me no real answers. Up until this point, all doctors shared a sympathetic “you’ll have to learn to live with this” prognosis rather than solutions for betterment of the situation.

My last resort was Dr Kenneth Steinsapir. After I reached out on email to his clinic I was met with the clinic’s manager Faith. In such a lovely way she took an interest in me and demonstrated something unique to all my other dealings with surgeons’ clinics - Faith showed me immense KINDNESS. Instead of directly scheduling a consultation (as what happened with every other clinic/surgeon) she arranged a phone call to talk with her and we spoke for a whole hour before I even committed to a consultation! From that first conversation with Faith, I felt hope in my heart for a solution.

From Dr Kenneth Steinsapir’s experience he knows that every case is different and requires a full, in-person assessment so I booked the consultation and the 16-hour flight to go and see him. I had a detailed, 4-hour consultation with him where he assessed me and clearly outlined what I was dealing with - layers of problems (which no other surgeon indicated) that were beyond my comprehension, but when educated, I started to clearly see. Dr Kenneth Steinsapir has become extremely niche in fixing botched eye surgeries and so he was able to outline a multi-step treatment plan which I am so hopeful and so, so grateful for.

Given that I made such a rash decision to go for the revision blepharoplasty that changed my life for the worst, I decided to wait further before diving into correction surgery with Dr Steinsapir. I guess I made that decision out of fear of jumping into the wrong thing again (and also a bit of self-punishment), also because I live on the completely other side of the world and it’s not the most straightforward thing to take a 16-hour flight for cosmetic surgery. However I’m now taking steps forward and I again met with Dr Steinsapir last month for a reassessment. I’m now confident this is the path I need to take. I’m looking to schedule my surgery when I can manage it with my work and general life schedule. I will share further updates on this platform
in due course, hoping that my story and testimony will at least help anyone else to make a balanced, well-informed decision for eye surgery. I would even recommend consultation with Dr Steinsapir’s to extend beyond eye-related surgery as he has shared his expertise and recommendations for filler services to me which is invaluable, honest advice.

I advise anyone who is considering eye surgery (first time or revision) to go to Dr Kenneth Steinsapir, at the very least for a consultation. It WILL save you mentally, emotionally and financially. Do you know there are several methodologies for conducting a blepharoplasty? I didn’t. A surgeon applying the wrong method could be long-term devastating for you. Furthermore, very often patients are advised by mostly well-meaning yet under-educated/general cosmetic surgeons to undergo a blepharoplasty when that is not the treatment plan they need (which was my case). Dr Steinsapir will advise you on what is best for you and will not push you into surgery if it is not required. I actually believe he would deter patients from surgery where possible. Dr Steinsapir is extremely attentive, educated and intelligent whilst also being honest, kind and full of compassion. Not a day goes by when I don’t thank the lord that both he and Faith are there for me and people like me.

I could not give higher praise to Dr Steinsapir. I went to him after an extremely unfortunate outcome at another local Oculoplastic Surgeon's office. The other doctor was surprisingly higher rated than Dr Steinsapir on Real Self and part of why I went with him in the first place. I believed the other doctor's hype and trusted his confidence. Boy, was I wrong to do so. And my attempts at communicating with him before or after tward any expectations or improvement was not even briefly entertained. Since I had done SO MUCH research on RS before going to the other doctor, I knew about Dr Steinsapir and reached out. Thank goodness. He was honest, fair and hopeful. He helped me understand what happened in my case and took an incredible amount of time discussing my options with me. Dr Steinsapir has been working with me at my comfort level with fantastic results ever since. It's difficult to get back into the self care game when someone has senselessly hurt you, but Dr Steinsapir is not just caring and considerate every step of the way...he's knowledgable, and a skilled an artist with a great eye for aesthetic details. Faith Gomberg who manages the practice and patient scheduling is truly an integral part of the care and consideration in the practice. They work together seamlessly for an experience where I always feel seen and extremely well cared for. Getting into their schedule is tough because they do so much surgery...so I always give them as much lead time as I can.

Add my voice to the many who are so relieved to find Dr. Steinsapir. I came to his office after being discharged by my previous surgeon who said there was nothing more to be done for me after a complicated recovery from a lower blepharoplasty. I was in a shame spiral about what I had done to my face and had stopped looking in mirrors. I didn't recognize myself anymore, physically and emotionally and I was also dealing with nerve and muscle changes that made me scared I had permanent damage that could not be corrected. I visited other surgeons in hopes of a revision/correction but each one I consulted with left me feeling hopeless. I came to Dr. Steinsapir in the hopes that I would get a straight answer about what I was experiencing and an honest recommendation about what, if anything, could be done. To say his examination is thorough is an understatement, he evaluated my aesthetic concerns but also my vision, eye health and function. He listened to me throughout. He confirmed some of my fears rather than dismissing me as my previous surgeon had done, identified a change that I was not aware of that helped me understand why I didn't recognize myself in the mirror, but most importantly he identified a plan to move forward. He performed an office procedure the same day as my consult that made an immediate difference and scheduled me for a follow up within 2 weeks. I feel like I'm finally emerging from a months long fog with some hope, something I have not had for a very long time. If you have had the unfortunate experience of a breakdown in your relationship with your surgeon and a poor outcome from eyelid surgery, consider a consult with Dr. Steinsapir, I'm so glad that I did. Faith is the person you will first speak with on the phone and she will take care of you on arrival, she showed me a great deal of kindness and patience during my visit, ensured that I had all the time I needed, and got me out the door in time for my flight home.

Five years ago, I got under eye filler placed by another Doctor. I hated it. I had it removed, and when the doctor was done, there was a large divot in my face. I was scared to death, as I did not previously have a divot under my eye, just darkness. I did some research, and the topic seemed quite controversial. I could not find a solution anywhere online. All I could find were desperate women, who said their eye tissue never returned to normal. I went and saw many plastic surgeons. I tried PRP and anything else that I could think up.

I became extremely depressed, and no longer wanted to go out or get dressed up. Eventually, I stopped looking in the mirror. I blow dried my hair in the dark, and put on makeup with a compact that was 2 inches long. Finally, after much research, I got my eye refilled at the best plastic surgery center in Arizona. Once again, I hated it. The entire contouring of my face was off. I believed I was wildly over filled again. I felt hopeless.

During this time, I turned my life back to God, because I did not feel I could handle the situation on my own. I had been raised in the church, but had drifted away during my adult years. One day a year ago while praying, I stumbled upon Dr. Steinsapir’s website. I had searched for eye revision many times, but I had never found anyone that inspired confidence. This felt different, and I immediately picked up the phone and called the office. The message machine picked up, and I said to myself, “This is foolish. I will hang up.” Then, a woman on the voicemail said in a kind but firm voice, “Do NOT hang up.” So, I didn’t.

Later in the day, the woman on the voicemail called me back. She told me her name was Faith, and I started to think that God was going to give me a miracle. Faith spent so much time with me over the phone. She commiserated with me and exuded the most empathy I have ever received from a doctor’s office. Although, I live in Arizona, I immediately made arrangements to go to California.

I went to Dr. Steinsapir on a Monday. He removed the filler. It was one of the scariest things I had ever done, because I knew the divot would be there and possibly worse. Both Dr. Steinsapir and Faith coached me through the process. They allowed me to call them every day as I waited it out at the hotel. I have a long standing history of swelling and bruising even when not having procedures. So, I was quite unhinged, but they didn’t judge me.

On Friday, Dr. Steinsapir refilled my eye. At that time, he told me I had one of the fussiest under eyes he had ever worked on, and so I knew this might be a bit of a process. Immediately, I became scared that Dr. Steinsapir and Faith would wash their hands of me as many other plastic surgeons had done. Over the next two months Dr. Steinsapir and Faith checked in on me a lot.

Then, it was time to return to have more filler added. I do not want to discourage anyone with the fact that I had to return. My case was very extreme, and not the norm.
