I have had six kids (including three c-sections) and am thinking about getting a "mommy makeover", including liposuction and a tummy tuck. I'm on the fence about the breast lift or implants. However, I'm in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wouldn't want to do anything that would interfere with training long term. Generally speaking, how long does it take before I would be able to train at full force again and would breast implants prevent me from grappling or competing?
Answer: Fighting Shape After MM For strenuous exercise, 6 weeks is usually recommended following a TT. Sharp items can rupture breast implants. However, blunt force trauma to implants will likely not have an effect. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Mommy Makeover Recovery Congratulations on your active lifestyle! You should be able to return to competing whether or not you choose to have implants. Recovery will take some time, but you should be ready to return to activities gradually around 6-8 weeks after surgery. The time frame will depend on how you heal and the extent of abdominal repair performed. Being in competition shape will be after you are fully healed from surgery. After an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon you should be able to have a more concrete answer.

Answer: Mommy makeover recovery Thank you for your question and thank you for being a mom of six!!!!. Walking right away, no machines for three weeks. It takes 3 to 4 weeks before you can resume all activities like Brazilian Ju-Jitsu after a mommy makeover, tummy tuck and or breast augmentation- Lift. It will probably take closer to six weeks before you can go back to competition level. Make sure you see someone who is board certified ASAPS member plastic surgeon. It is recommended you have 3D Vectra imaging and be able to try on some implants in a tight sports bra. Technical aspects of gentle surgical technique with ability to do breast augmentation through the tummy with no incisions on the breast should be considered. Make sure the surgeon can offer you a hospital like Morristown Medical Center. Good luck...

Answer: 6 kids....You Deserve a Mommy Makeover!! wilson9101 Mommy Makeover Surgery is an extremely popular procedure with high patient satisfaction. It involves breast rejuvenation; breast lift, with or without implants and Tummy-tuck, with or without Liposuction. It is all usually performed at one time, but can be staged as well. Breast implants will not affect recovery and return to working out because you will need to wait at least 6 weeks after the Tummytuck before heavy duty training or grappling and competing. Long term, breast implants should not affect competing as well. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Mommy makeover and exercise Most patients can go back to light cardio in 2-3 weeks as long as they are healing. Full activity, weights and Jiu Jitsu usually started again 6-8 weeks from tummy tuck, liposuction, and breast lifts. Competing may take longer.
