Hi @Kathleen6565! I would wait two weeks to allow swelling to subside. If you still notice asymmetry after two weeks, you can add more to one side. Best of luck to you, Dr. Nima!
Often people need touch ups after the first treatment as it takes a step wise approach to getting optimal correction. Please see an expert for a facial sculpting evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi Kathleen. You do seem to have some asymmetry after your Voluma injections. Some things to keep in mind though: 1. It may still be some swelling after your injection, which is common. The swelling can take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve. 2. Most people have some noticeable asymmetry to their faces. If it has been more than 2 weeks and you still have some asymmetry then a little more Voluma can be added to improve things. Just remember though that perfect symmetry is pretty much impossible to attain. Hope this helps answer your question!
Has it been 2 weeks since your injections? If not then wait because you could still be swollen. Otherwise, see your surgeon to be assessed in person.Kindly,Kouros Azar
Depending on how long ago you got the injection. Wait at least two weeks and evaluate if the asymmetry persists either add or remove product were needed.Good luck!
HiThanks for the question. Its hard to say until you are a couple weeks out since you may still have some swelling. I do agree the left side of your face looks like you might need a little more filler and placed a little higher up on the cheek. Having a before picture would help as well since you may have had some underlying asymmetry prior to the procedure. Go back to your injector and see what they think and whether a touch up would be worthwhile. Overall I think your result looks good, but if the asymmetry bothers you then I would discuss this furtherGood Luck"The above answer has been given without seeing thispatient and cannot be substituted for actual in-person examination and medicaladvice,; it is only opinion. I always recommend waiting for two weeks to judge the results. Often there can be more swelling on one side that will even out. I usually try to save some residual voluma to use for a touch up to help even it out if need be. As your results will last a long time it's worth trying to get it as best matched as possible. Good luck.
Voluma, as any filler, can cause temporary swelling and bruising. This can cause cheeks to look uneven. I would give it a couple of weeks after the filler was placed and then re-evaluate. If there is still asymmetry, return to your injector who might be able to manipulate the filler or add more to even things out.
It is a bit difficult to see if there is significant asymmetry because you are smiling in the photo. Remember that our faces are asymmetrical to start with and when you have something injected, you start to look more carefully and that's when you start to see some differences between two sides. The best thing to do, is to see your doctor and look at the photos taken prior to injection. It will give you a good idea of the asymmetry you see was there before the treatment.
Almost everyone has an asymmetrical face to begin with. If this is just the next day, it could be swelling. If it has been at least one week, I'd recommend you return to your doctor for an evaluation and to express your concerns. Your right cheek is higher than your left cheek.
I do not feel the voluma is responsible for this however if you are concerned the voluma can be reversed. Best, Dr. Emer.
Many products are used off-label, and that in itself is not a reason to worry as long as the treatment was done by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with experience and skill. At my practice, we generally do not use Voluma for lips because it is thicker and less malleable than...
Hello jostone, thank you for sharing your concern. Juvaderm, voluma, belotero, restylane etc. all belong to the same class of dermal fillers that is made up of hyaluronic acid. Their side effect profile should be similar. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that can be found in our co...
1 syringe of Voluma is not excessive and should improve with time. It lasts about a year but can be dissolved with a product called Wydase if you're unhappy with it. It may take 2-3 visits about a month apart to see the effects of Wydase. I suggest finding a physician or physician-supervised ...
Everyone reabsorbs fillers differently. Some will have it last for 2 years while others will need it sooner. Only time will tell how your body will use it. For those of my patients that do come for a "maintaence" I find most usually require about one syringe. I hope that helps.
Hello sandras77, thank you for your interesting question. In my practice, I see a lot of patients who desire filler injections on the chin because they expect the chin to be smooth without any dimpling/irregularity. Often times, the dimpling is caused by a strong mentalis muscle and filler i...
