I got a lip augmentation, and my doctor used Juvederm Voluma. When I heard 'juvederm', I thought..yes, of course! But when I got home and did my research, I realized that Voluma for the lips is off-label. What will happen to my lips?
Answer: Many products are used off-label, and that in itself is not a reason to worry. Many products are used off-label, and that in itself is not a reason to worry as long as the treatment was done by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with experience and skill. At my practice, we generally do not use Voluma for lips because it is thicker and less malleable than other fillers such as regular Juvederm or Restylane Silk, but if you like your results there should be no problem. In fact, Voluma may even last longer than other fillers because of the way it’s cross-linked. If you end up disliking your results, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase, but please wait for two weeks to see the final results before deciding.

Answer: Off Label Voluma Just because a product is used "off label" does not mean that it's dangerous. In fact, a lot of our innovation comes from trying products in different ways. As long as you went to an experienced injector, all should be fine. Kindly,Kouros Azar

Answer: Voluma in the Lips Correct it is off label but many patients are injected in off label areas. You should be fine but if you have a concern see your doctor regarding dissolving the filler. The Volume is a type of HA just like Juvederm it just has a different cross linking causing it to be more cohesive more volumizing and longer lasting.Good luck!

Answer: Voluma for lips Thanks for the question. I wouldn't be worried that the Voluma was used off label, as many things are done that way. It just means a formal study was not done through the FDA for that specific treatment protocol. For example, Botox is FDA approved for glabella and crows feet.....everything else is off label. It is safe but just not FDA approved because the company did not want to spend millions of dollars running another study.I personally don't use VOLUMA on the lips because I think it is too thick of a product, in the lips you want a softer thinner product. However, the advantage is that it lasts much longer. In your circumstance, maybe Voluma was a good choice. If you like the look and feel, then i wouldn't worry at all. If you feel your lips are too stiff then I would re discuss this with your injector to see what their thoughts are. good luck"The above answer has been given without seeing this patient and cannot be substituted for actual in-person examination and medical advice,; it is only opinion. Seek in-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care."

Answer: My doctor used Juvederm Voluma on my lips. What will happen to me? Using product off label is not unusual. Voluma is a long lasting product and you will most likely have great results which will last for along time. Voluma is not the first choice for lips but many physicians use it and like it very much. I think in time, it will be used more and more because of its longevity
