I had Juvederm and Voluma in my cheeks 2 weeks ago. I have been feeling unwell since. Over the last week I have tired aching legs, a thick head. My clinician said I don't have an infection but says that if you are particularly in tune with your body you can feel unwell initially! I am meant to have more Juvederm in my nasal labial folds but I'm now thinking of not going ahead! I have had the suggestion of using Boletero instead- do all ha fillers work the same and have the same side effects?

Answer: Sounds Coincidental It sounds like you are coming down with the flu, and it is flu season.Voluma has been extensively tested and used for many years in Europe and South America before coming to the USA over 2 years ago. Symptoms of tired aching legs and a thick head are not associated with any hyaluronic acid filler. You even described the symptoms as beginning a week after you were injected, instead of immediately after. If you are convinced they are connected somehow, you should speak to your injector about it, as all the hyaluronic acid fillers are easily reversible. Belotero, Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Voluma are all hyaluronic acid fillers. In my opinion, take care of yourself, recover from the viral syndrome you are experiencing and if you are happy with the cosmetic results so far, continue on with doing more fillers. They are safe.

Answer: Lots of illness going around There are a lot of illnesses going around Northern California this spring. Juvederm Voluma is a natural product (hyaluronic acid) and it most likely would not cause a systemic illness.
