Is a Lower Body Lift the Same Thing As a Body Lift?

What is the difference between a body lift and a lower body lift? I see some doctors say body lift and others call it a lower body lift and I just don't understand how the actual surgeries are different...they seem like the same thing to me.

A: Is a Total Body Lift the same thing as a Body Lift?

The short answer is they are the same.  We all use different confusing names.  The best answer is ask your plastic surgeon exactly what he can do for you and for how much.

Okay to Lose Weight After Lower Body Lift?

33y/o Female, 23BMI, Lost 165lb, Want LBL. Lose 10lb After Lift Okay? Not Skin Fr LBL, WL. I had duodenal switch weight loss surgery. I'm still slowly losing weight due to activity level. Bariatric dr estimated likely lose another 20lb between months 18 - 24 bariatric procedure post-op; however, had a significant AC Joint injury so can't exercise much right now, thus stopped losing weight & have maintained for last 6 wks at 23 BMI post-op mo. 19. Given injury healing time, I guess I will lose another 10 - 15lb instead. Opinions on LBL at post-op mo. 22? OK if lose 10lb after LBL?

A: Weightloss before Total Body Lift

Congratulations on your weight loss.  There should be no problem with having a body lift with a BMI of 23.  Ideally, I ask my patients to reach a stable body  for about 4 to 6 months.  Also I recommend that you settle on a reasonable body weight.  If losing 10 to 20 pounds more is difficult, then you shouldn't even try .  That is, it will not make a significant difference in your overall cosmetic results.
