Hello everyone, welcome to my journey for straight teeth. I am a 30 year old woman with two kids, (so money matters) and an outcall massage therapist, so I am up close and personal with all my clients giving them a great view of all the spaces between my front teeth. I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm insecure, but I'm definitely aware of the imperfections in my smile and know people judge... more
Just got my Invisalign bout 2 weeks ago, I know this sounds crazy but I can see results already !!! very little but I can tell a difference, they do feel a little tight but that is a good things cause you know that's it working, the only thing that sucks is having to take them off to eat, or drink etc. Im only scheduled to have them on for 10 months. so ill see how it goes. Ill keep you guys... more
Hi Real Self! This is my review of my experience with Invisalign.
I am 19 years and have recently just started using Invisalign as of March 18th, 2015. I of course wanted to use Invisalign to have a straighter smile. As of right now my bottom teeth are very crowded and one of my front teeth is much more forward than the rest. I have been told that my teeth are kinda straight but to me... more
I had some crowding on the lower front teeth that made it difficult to clean and some recession due to the way my teeth fit together. Dr hedge recommended doing invisalign to help with long term health of my teeth. I only had to wear the trays for 5 months and I love my outcome. I did whitening (deep bleach) after I was completed with my Invisalign and couldn't be happier. Everyone... more
Today I picked up trays 2 (which is actually my first tray) & 3 of 41. I am 49 years old and have some bone loss. A subject I have not seen covered here. I am interested to see how my progress will go. My concern with Invisalign and Metal braces were the loss of teeth due to my bone loss. My Ortho could not give a 100% determination because each case is different. However, he opted for... more
I've had ugly teeth for as long as I can remember. It's my biggest insecurity, by far, and has hindered me in a lot of ways socially. I finally made the leap to do something about it instead of constantly being unhappy with my smile. Mind you, my insurance doesn't cover for any ortho work so this is all out of pocket. My doc has decided to set me up with Invisalign for the first 3 months then... more
No tube que... more
I dont think I could be any more pleased with the decision I made to have invisaglin. Dr Frazar and Dr Hedge took the time to show me that because of my teeth being in the wrong position it was causing several issues in my mouth/neck that I didn't even realize was all related. Dr Frazar stated the crowding was making it so that no matter how hard I brushed and flossed I just couldn't get some... more
I have always wanted straight(er) teeth. I wasn't able to get braces as a teenager, we couldn't afford it. I finally can for myself now that my youngest is 18 and won't start college for at least another year. The doctor's office showed me a ton of information about straight teeth, the invisalign process etc. Once I decided that I would indeed like to move forward with the treatment, they... more
In 2004 I got invisalign and everything went as planned. I did have to use the brackets and rubber bands @ 1st but after that the Invisalign worked perfect.
Now though my perm retainer is letting my teeth shift so I need to go back to the Ortho to get that taken out and re-fit my removable retainer. more
I got my invisalign 8 weeks ago and it's probably the best investment yet. I am on tray 4 of 26 for top and 26 for bottom. I have somewhat straight teeth, but I pretty noticeable overbite. My Ortho (not dentist) said that I had to wear them for 15 months and change them out every two and a half weeks.
They were a little hard at first but after about two or three times of practicing it,... more
Getting Invisalign was a very emotional experience for me. I had deep seeded burdens of remembering aunts and grandmothers before me who never had the financial blessing of being able to fix their teeth. Some couldn't even afford dentures and I remember watching them gum their food and I felt a sense of sadness for them. I thought about how many impoverished people I meet every single day... more
Excited to have an alternative to Braces and a shorter time to correct my smile. Scale 1-10 I am a 3-4 on how sever my teeth are. I say ARE because I really do not see much improvement, not for the amount of time and money spent.
Originally it was about 6.5 months needed. They extended another 3.5 months and still little more results. I have my last try in and will visiting with my Dentist... more
I am on my first set of trays so right now I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I had one tooth in the front of my mouth extracted, buy my orthodontist had a fake one put in each tray and you can't tell which one was pulled. Of course when I take the tray out to eat, you can see one is missing but I try to eat as quickly as I can so I can brush/floss and get the bottom tray back in. I... more
The Invisalign treatment for my teeth, top and bottom tray cost $5500 but with my insurance I only had to pay $1900, which was wonderful because I conveniently had $2000 for the year in my flex spending account. Tax free and no money spent up front was very exciting. I have to wear my trays for 6 months and I am going on my 2nd month. They feel great, I love the tightness on my teeth. The... more
I had invisalign treatment, it was great I would recommend. I had some spaces in between my teeth. It corrected/closed those spaces & corrected the placement of my teeth. Fantastic result.I am thinking about getting the Vivera retainer program. Do you know if they can put attachments on the back of your teeth or on the front of your back teeth/molars to help keep a strong grip? more
I got invisalign when I was 30 and did NOT want to be wearing braces. I had very crowded bottom teeth and mild crowding on top. They did have to pull a bottom tooth to use Invisalign. Had I done regular braces they would not have done that. Now I only have 3 bottom teeth between my canines which is not symmetrical but no one can tell. I stuck a piece of cotton in the tray where th more
I am on my third retainer and it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. The first retainers hurt pretty bad but after a few days I felt fine. Changing out the retainers hurts a bit at first but not nearly has bad as the first retainer.
You definitely have to change your eating and drinking habits. Brushing after everything you eat or drink makes it difficult to enjoy snacking... more
