Best Laser to Reduce Facial Oil/sebum?

I have overactive sebaceous glands such that my face is extremely oily beyond tolerance. I was told that a certain laser might help. Problem is there are many different options. Please provide me with a detailed and accurate suggestion.

Thanks {edited}

A: Smoothbeam 1250 for Facial Oil/Sebum

The sebaceous glands are glands in the skin that secrete an oily, waxy substance called sebum, to lubricate the skin skin and hair.  The FDA approved Smoothbeam 1250 nm diode laser which penetrates to a depth in the skin where the sebaceous glands are found and causes injury to reduce the over production of sebum and therefore intended and helpful for the treatment of acne vulgaris.

In addition to laser treatments, excessive sebum production can be controlled by topical treatments including various over-the-counter cosmoceuticals, salicyclic acid, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, chemical peels, and prescription medicines such as retinoids.  Isotretinoin (Accutane) and sprionolactone (Aldactone) are oral medicines that have also been shown to reduce sebum production thereby treating acne.

Best Laser for Eyelid Wrinkles?

machines "specialized" for one treatment perform that treatment perfectly.What is the best laser for “eyelids wrinkles”? Please I ask your opinion for “wrinkles..” on lasers that require one session AND your opinion on lasers that require more sessions to obtain the same results… What is the best laser specific for skin resurfacing? Please,I’m again asking about lasers that require one session AND on gentler lasers that require more sessions to obtain the same results. Thanks a lot

A: Best laser for my problem It is impossible to know which laser is best for your specific problem - in this case your eyelid wrinkles - since you haven't stated your needs and goals. For instance,Do you want to have any downtime? Do want gradual improvement or rapid improvement,? Can you tolerate a minor risk of discoloration? In addition prior history is important. Have you failed any previous procedures. .? Is there any history of keloids? In general I like the Pixel laser ( fractionated CO2)for more dramatic improvement with downtime and the Fraxel for more mild improvement with no downtime.

What Laser Resurfacing Would Be Best for my Face?

I am a very light skinned, 46 year old caucasian female. I am wanting to get laser resurfacing done on my face to take care of wrinkles around my eyes, smile lines around my mouth and deeper lines on my forehead. I would also like to get some benefits of skin tightening around my jowls and on my eyelids. I have found a derm that uses Active FX/Deep FX for $3K, a derm that uses an Erbium laser for $1800, and a plastic surgeon that uses Erbium/fractioned CO2 combination for $3K. What is best?

A: YAG, Erbium Skin Resurfacing, Sun Damage, Skin Tone, Laser

The Erbium-YAG laser is designed to remove or decrease wrinkles and improve the overall skin texture of the face, neck and hands. Sun exposure, age and personal habits combine to give the skin a wrinkled, freckled or dried out appearance. Laser skin resurfacing with the Erbium laser is done under local anesthesia in the office setting with minimal discomfort compared to older Carbon dioxide laser systems, which require extensive anesthesia and a longer healing time.
