Having performed this procedure for past 18 years and being in the center where lipo was first performed in USA over 38 years ago...the answer would be that cannula is finer. However, results are NOT based on cannula but years of experienced judgement of what to do, how deep to take fat from, how much to take and how. This makes the difference not the technology nor the cannula.
Liposuction involves the infiltration of a tumescent solution followed by removal of the fat in a criss-cross fashion. Micro-body contouring includes different techniques to remove small sections of fat in various areas, to refine the shape of the figure. In fact there isn't much of a difference. I would recommend talking to a board certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps.
One is a marketing term that means little. I would select a board-certified plastic surgeon with great reviews, before and after pics, and credentials.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
These two terms are basically just marketing terms. Focus on choosing on finding an experienced surgeon with excellent results demonstrated on their website. Consider several consultations, so that you can hear multiple opinions on how best to obtain your goals.
Thank you for your question. Micro body contouring is lipo as well. It implies that the surgeon uses very small liposuction cannulas (3mm or less). This is what everybody uses, unless you are doing large amount of fat debuliking with a 4mm or 4.6mm cannula. It is more about the surgeon's ability and artistry than the cannula size. See a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person consultation/evaluation. Look at their in office photos and web sites to see if the results posted are close to your expectations. Good luck.
It's tough to know what is hype and what is not. You can usually tell quite quickly by visiting the office and having a consultation. The name of a procedure shouldn't guide your decision making. We read patients' questions all the time who are focused on having one procedure that their internet research has determined is the best. As always, choose the doctor, not the procedure. If you feel you are in a three ring circus, you may want to move on.
You want a surgeon who has great before and after photos, great reviews, is passionate about liposculpting, and performs a lot of body sculpting with an assortment of 3 mm powered cannulas.
there really is no major difference. Calling something "micro-body contouring" is just a marketing gimmick. If your doctor thinks you have minimal fat, then he or she may use a smaller cannula otherwise its just regular lipo :)
Thank you for the question and those are marketing terms. Basically you want an expert board certified surgeon doing your procedureDr Corbin
I now use smaller cannulas to do liposuction and so it could be called micro-contouring. Also, I do sculpting to achieve the six pack look in a similar but more intense fashion.
Liposuction will not be effective for the fingers and it can certainly cause damage if attempted.Kenneth Hughes, MD
This looks like hyperpigmentation which can happen after your procedure and is due to damage to the underlying small vessels in the upper levels of the skin. This can be improved with external devices such as venus legacy and/or lasers as it improves the vascularity of tissue. See a body cont...
If you are at a satisfactory and maintainable weight then I think you are a good candidate for liposuction. It somewhat difficult to make a firm recommendation from one photograph but it appears that you would do well with contouring of your back rolls, hip rolls (grab handles) and perhaps...
