1 month post-op getting abnormally hungry after Lipo to waist, is this typical?

When the body undergoes some form of trauma as
surgery it enters a catabolic phase where proteins are
consume for energy. As this catabolic phase ends the
body try to recover the proteins lost and frequently an
increase in appetite maybe seen. It is important to stay
on a diet with a higher percent  of proteins than  carbs
to avoid weight gain. Discuss any concerns with

No, this wouldn't necessarily be typical, but it isn't bad as long as you maintain a healthy diet. I do recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Thanks for your inquiry.  Honestly, I have seen patients with both a lack of appetite and excess hunger after surgery in the first few weeks.  If your bowels are normal, I am unsure if there is an medical concern.  Please discuss with your surgeon, and best of luck. 

Lipo has no affect on hunger that has been documented by research.  It is most likely related to your being sedentary and it is important to start to return to regular activity.  Swelling can sometimes persist for upto 3 months after surgery and it is important to continue with your regular massages as instructed and wearing the compression garments.
