I'd like to remove a small amount of skin to show more eyelid platform. Can this be easily accomplished? What is the recovery time? And are there any non-surgical alternatives?
Answer: Curious about minimal upper blepharoplasty, can skin be removed to show more of the eyelid? The primary goal of upper blepharoplasty is to show more upper eyelid platform and raise the crease. This is accomplished with a conservative removal of excess skin and a small amount of fat when necessary. Answer: Upper eyelid Hello and thank you for your question. There are several options. A conservative upper eyelid blepharoplasty could be helpful for you. Alternatively, botox injected into the orbicularis (not the forehead) may also help. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Upper eyelid blepharoplasty A conservative upper blepharoplasty would work well to increase the upper eyelid visibility. Alternatives are non-invasive skin tightening, which can also be helpful. In my office we use Exilis Elite, a radiofrequency devixe, to achieve this result.

Answer: Minimal upper blepharoplasty You may benefit from an upper blepharoplasty, but a personal evaluation would be necessary to determine that. This surgery can easily be performed in the office using local anesthetic and the sutures are removed in 3-5 days so downtime is minimal. Non-surgical options would include Botox to try to lift the brow a little or you could consider Ultherapy which a micro-focused ultrasound device that can lift brows and make the eyelids look better.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers

Answer: Conservative blepharoplasty A minimal skin resection can be undertaken. Sutures are removed within three days and the bruising typically resembles lavender eyeshadow such that it is not unpleasant during the healing period. However, the question does remain, based on the limited scope of the photos, whether your brows are implicated in the limited show of the upper lid platform, and if so, whether an internal brow pexy should be added to the procedure.
