Thank you very muchfor your question and photographs. There are several factors to a successfulcosmetic surgery procedure, including a Mommy Makeover. Generally, patients’needs to be at a stable weight that is close to their ideal shape.Additionally, every surgeon will have their own set of protocols, but in mostcases, an ideal patient will have a BMI of 30 or less. My recommendation is foryou to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, who canperform a physical examination and discuss yourmedical background. At this time, he/she will determine if now is the best timeto schedule a Mommy Makeover, or if you will need to shed added weight beforeconsidering surgery.
Thank you for your question. The recommended BMI for surgery is less than 30. High BMI poses high surgical risk and reduces the likelihood you will receive optimal cosmetic results. Your safety is of utmost importance to us. We never want to do anything that might jeopardize our patient's health. If you have been unable to reach your goal weight with diet and exercise we recommend you schedule a consultation with a Board Certified Bariatric Surgeon.Combination procedures can give powerful results but SAFETY is KEY. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. In order to help minimize the risks of surgery, and to improve your aesthetic outcome, I would recommend weight loss prior to any surgery. Calculate your current BMI and see how much above 30 you are. Then extrapolate how much weight you will need to lose to reach a goal of 30. Hope this helps.
I appreciate your question. For health and safety reasons, best to be at a BMI less than 30 or within 10 pounds of your goal weight and stable at that weight for 6 months prior to surgery for optimal results. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck! Thanks so much for reaching out. It does look like you may be too heavy for surgery. You should calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI). You can google a conversion calculator to enter in your height and weight. Surgery is more ideal if your calculated BMI is less than 30.I hope this helps :)
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you will be a great candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction after additional weight loss. This can be done through a low and shortincision, all completely below the bikini line. The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars onthe exterior. Your muscles can also beplicated resulting in a flat abdomen. A breast lift and thigh surgery could also potentially help. In order to maximize your safety, weight loss prior to surgery is important. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures ofreal patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluatetheir results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you arecomfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualifiedboard-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
I think that most surgeons would recommend weight loss prior to having surgery to reduce the risk for complications.
Thank you for the question. The best advice you can get is after consultation with a plastic surgeon. Your weight and height will determine your body mass index (BMI). Ideally, you would like your BMI to be less than 30, however, this decision is individualized based on your overall health status and what procedure you are having among others. The closer you are to your ideal body weight, the better the results of the surgery and the less likelihood of perioperative complications. Thank you for your question and photos. I believe it is best to be within 10 - 15 pounds of your ideal body weight prior to surgery for optimal results. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in body contouring for an in-person examination. Ask to see a lot of before and after pictures of their work to understand what can be achieved. Hope this helps and good luck.
The recommended BMI is less than 30. This is the recommendation of the American society of plastic surgery. The reason simply, is increased chance of complications. These include but limited to, pulmonary embolus, deep venous thrombosis, delayed wound healing and increase infection rate. Choose a board certified plastic surgeon who has done a ton of mommy makeover and has privileges to do this surgery at a local university hospital. This says his credentials have been checked out by fellow Drs. All surgeries carry risk, talk to your plastic surgeon. Many surgeons, including myself, offer online virtual consultations where you send us your photos to be examined. Please be mindful that the in person physical exam is the most important and could potentially alter your treatment plan.
Age alone rarely determines a person’s candidacy for surgery. Overall health is much more important. You should be in good enough health to safely undergo general anesthesia, and you should inform your surgeon of any conditions that could impact your recuperation, such as bleeding disorders or d...
