I am double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery, and a founding partner of Premium Care Plastic Surgery in Cartagena, Colombia. My team and I specialize in facial rejuvenation with deep place facelift, mommy makeover, surgery after weight loss, and pediatric plastic surgery. I also head the foundation Premium Care Kids for children with cleft lip and cleft palate.
I underwent 360 liposuction, breast reduction and lift, a deep plane face and neck lift, lip lift, fat grafting, and a brow lift — all performed by the extraordinary team of Dr. Alex Campbell, Dr. Carolina Restrepo, and Dr. Luna. The level of care, skill, and artistry I received surpassed anything I’ve experienced, even in the U.S. From the moment I walked into Dr. Campbell’s office, I knew I was in the hands of someone special. His warm demeanor and kind eyes put me at ease instantly. The room was filled with intricate Lego sculptures and beautiful paintings — which I later learned he built and painted himself. That’s when it clicked: this is a man who truly loves working with his hands. He’s not just a surgeon, he’s an artist. What makes this clinic exceptional isn’t just the results — which are beyond stunning — but the entire system they’ve created. Having three top surgeons working together in one surgery is virtually unheard of, and it shows in their unmatched outcomes and efficiency. While most U.S. surgeons perform 200–300 surgeries a year, this team performs over 1,000 annually, giving them the kind of experience that translates to extraordinary results and confidence in any scenario. The aftercare was equally world-class. I had 24-hour nursing for a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere — $100 a day — and those nurses treated me like family. I didn’t have to think about food, medication, or anything except healing. Daily visits from medical staff, photo documentation, and constant communication with the doctors ensured that every detail of my recovery was closely monitored. When I wasn’t feeling well after surgery, they kept me at the clinic until midnight — refusing to let me go until I was truly okay. That kind of care is rare and priceless. Two weeks post-op, I look like myself — just younger, fresher, and more confident. Dr. Campbell gave me the face, body, and breasts I dreamed of — and most importantly, he listened to me. This clinic is a hidden gem in Cartagena. Their prices do not reflect the incredible artistry, experience, and personalized care they provide. Honestly, they should be charging much more — but instead, they’ve created a place where women from around the world can feel safe, heard, and truly transformed.

I had a great experience, Dr Alex Campbell and Dr. Restropa were amazing from my very first virtual consult until my surgery date in Apr 2025 and we kept in contact every few weeks after I got home. Im 45 with 2 pregnancies. I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo 360 along with fat transfer to the breast and buttocks. I’m leaving a detailed review as I know I had so many questions and reading detailed reviews made me more comfortable choosing these surgeons for myself. A friend had also went to this practice a year prior with great results so I felt more comfortable making this decision to go out of country based on her results and experience.. Dr Campbell is straightforward and explains everything in detail and Dr.Restropa is lovely and makes u feel so comfortable.. I stayed 2 weeks in their recovery suites located on the ocean in Cartagena which were beautiful and clean with a big balcony. My suite was like a condo, with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms along with other suites in the building that had other patients so their was always nurses around if u need one.. I had my own bathroom in my bedroom and my bedroom had a lock. The room was clean and had everything I needed. Breakfast was included in my package and u can have the cook come to your suite and make u lunches and dinners for an extra cost but affordable. Transportation to and from the airport and to and from the surgical center the day of surgery is included in their package along with starter medications and 2 fajas and a surgical bag with supplies. I needed a bit more supplies and extra medication and I purchased those right from the grocery store pharmacy downstairs or from the surgical center during preop or post op appointments. I had 4 or 5 post op appointments during my 2 week stay. They send transportation for your post op appointment and it was just a few dollars cost for this as it’s not far away from the surgical suites if u choose to stay there. The nurses were amazing and took great care of you. U have a nurse that stays right with u for the first 24 hours and also a nurse that comes twice a day your entire stay to help with showers, take vitals ect. U also have the option to pay extra for a nurse to stay after this for 12 hour shifts or 24 hours and it’s really affordable. I paid for an extra 3 days for 24 hour nursing care as I felt better having someone with me the entire time and to help make sure I took my medications on time but I could have done without if funds were an issue. Some of the nurses English is limited but with Google translate we were able to communicate and they went out of their way to understand your needs. They were so polite and kind and would help u with anything u needed. The pain the first 24 hours had me questioning my decision to have surgery lol but they got the pain under control quickly. I would say the muscle repair pain was the worst but manageable as long as u don’t miss your pain meds and make sure to wake up every few hours to take them. There is also an outdoor infinity pool in the building and a mall and grocery store right downstairs and a beach across the street if u arrive a few days before and want to enjoy a little mini vacation before your surgery. I had 10 post op massages included with my 2 weeks stay with the option to pay for extra if u wanted which I did. Although a bit painful at first I always felt much better and less swollen after my sessions. The masseuse was so kind and took her time with me when I needed a break. I flew home after 2 weeks and although it was a long day back to Canada with layovers and such I did okay and was just uncomfortable and swollen when I arrived but felt better after a good night sleep. As for the procedures the lipo to my flanks and back really changed my overall shape and my clothes fit so much better , the fat transfer to the butt and breast went down quite a bit as I was told would happen but overall I’m so happy with my shape especially from behind in Jeans. I no longer have the long mom butt look that I had before surgery. The transfer to my hips dips didn’t seem to survive as much but from what i have read that’s a hard area to keep without a round 2. My small breast looked like small implants immediately after surgery but after the swelling went down they are a lot smaller but still a bit more shapely and fuller than before surgery. If I had it to do over I would have w asked for more fat toe be transferred. My incision is a bit higher than I would have liked and isn’t covered by my old underware or bathing suits but I also have a very long torso which could be why , so make sure to ask how low they can do your tummy tuck incision beforehand. A couple weeks after I got home I had an opening in my incision and contacted Dr Campbell and he responded within a few hours with detailed instructions on how to care for it and also asked me to send pictures every few days with how it was healing and checked in with me also every couple days. I do have e some lumps/bump feeling in my incisional area which I’m told with daily self massage and silicone gel application of the surgical are la will improve with time. The opening healed within a week or 2 with his instructions. We communicated through email or WhatsApp every few weeks with updates or pictures or whenever I had questions and they were always pretty quick to respond or one of their nurses would respond immediately and get back to u with the doctors recommendations for whatever questions u needed answers to. Im 4 months post op and still have quite a bit of swelling in my upper abdominal area and muscle repair area as the later day progresses and am told this is just late stage swelling and will get bettter with time and as healing progresses so I’m hoping that’s the case . I do wake up pretty flat first thing in the morning. The first 3 or 4 days after surgery I pretty much slept all day but by day 5 I was walking down to the grocery store with a nurse and by day 6 I was taking small walks outside by myself or to the mall food court for a few meals here or there. I have read some reviews that say they aren’t as aggressive with lipo as some other doctors in Columbia or the DR but to me they are also very safe and won’t risk overdoing anything or compromising on safety which made me feel safer with my choice to use premium care. I may in the future want to get a bit more lipo to my upper abdominal area. My experience overall was great and I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing my results improve as I continue healing and the late swelling goes away. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr.Campbell and his staff and if I chose to have anymore work done I will be going to them for sure.
I had an extraordinary experience with Dr. Campbell and the entire team, and I am delighted to share my thoughts now that I am 10 months post-operation. I underwent a tummy tuck, 360-degree liposuction, breast and butt lift, as well as umbilical, muscle and hernia repair. Each day, I wake up amazed at my transformation and can hardly believe this is my body. The results are simply exceptional, and my scars have become nearly invisible. After extensive research, I chose to travel to Colombia on my own for the procedures. Although it was initially daunting, the numerous conversations I had with Dr. Campbell and Melissa, the coordinator, instilled a great deal of confidence in me. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted at the airport and escorted to a stunning recovery suite featuring a 50-foot balcony with breathtaking views day and night—it felt like being in Miami. The following day, I met with Dr. Campbell for a consultation. He was incredibly transparent and made me feel at ease, taking the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. I was then fitted for my compression garments and met with the anesthesiologist, who ensured I felt comfortable by addressing any concerns I had. The entire team worked together to make me feel supported and confident. Surgery day arrived, and the team was there to cheer me on, ensuring I had no lingering questions and felt comfortable. Thanks to their two-surgeon approach, I spent less time under anesthesia while achieving remarkable results. I was surrounded by caring individuals 24/7, from the woman who cooked and cleaned for me to the nurses, clinic coordinator, and lymphatic massage therapists. Two weeks later, I returned home, and each day my results continued to improve. At 60 years old, I never imagined feeling this rejuvenated, nor did I expect to have such a toned abdomen. Ten years ago, a life-saving surgery had left me with significant scars and no belly button. Dr. Campbell and his team performed what I can only describe as a miracle, and my family and I are eternally grateful. I am so thrilled with my experience that I am returning for a face and neck lift, and I am bringing friends who wish to undergo the same procedures I had. This journey has truly been life-changing. My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Campbell and his team for their exceptional care and dedication.
I first went to Dr. Campbell in January 2017 for a full mommy makeover, which included a tummy tuck with muscle repair, 360 lipo, Brazilian butt lift, and upper blepharoplasty. I was thrilled with my results—and 8.5 years later, I’m still so happy with the outcome that I went back! After gaining 50 pounds and then losing 65, my breasts began to sag. I immediately reached out to Dr. Campbell to discuss a breast lift and implant exchange. In January of this year, I had the procedure done and was absolutely thrilled with the results. Then, 4.5 months later…the “boob greed” kicked in. (It’s real, I tell you!) So, at the end of May, I went back for larger implants. Dr. Campbell and his team are truly nothing short of amazing. He’s given me the confidence I’ve always longed for—it’s been completely life-changing. I can’t say enough good things about him. The aftercare, the staff, the entire experience—it’s top notch. You leave feeling happy, supported, and well cared for. The nurses and house moms are kind, compassionate, and treat you like family. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
I have had plastic surgery in Bogota,Colombia, Bangkok,Thailand, and Las Vegas,USA all highly regarded cities for plastic surgery however none compared to the amazing surgery experience I recently had at Premium Care in beautiful Cartagena.Doctor Alex Campbell,Doctor Restrepo and the entire team are first class.I had a face & necklift, temporal brow lift, revision lip lift and a revision tummy tuck. The expertise is unmatched anywhere! The care is incredible from the moment you arrive until departure.Nurses, masseuse, kitchen chefs, drivers,an entire huge caring team looking after all needs and concerns. The expertise by the surgeons is incredible and I cannot even see scars at 5 weeks post op.Do not waste your time and money elsewhere as the true professionals are here at Premium Care and I look forward to coming back for more procedures in January.Thank you so much Dr.Campbell & Dr.Restrepo you are the best in the world!
Dr. Alex is the best! He completely transformed my body with amazing results. The team is great, and I highly recommend them! His nursing team provides exceptional care—truly the best you will ever receive.
Dr Campbell as well as Dr Restrepo were the two surgeons who performed my Mommy makeover. I opted for care through the premium care suites. I had been told about how amazing the doctors and care team were, how lovely the suites were but nothing that was said came close to how amazing everything and the whole experience actually was. The journey started with our suite and getting settled in. The rooms and suites were 5star clean, spacious, comfortable and the views. Oh my goodness the views were to die for. Overlooking the Carribean sea. The day after arriving I had my first in person consultation with Dr Campbell. He made me feel so comfortable and there wasn’t a question he wasn’t willing to answer. My mother was with me and on top of the 30-40min consultation he gave me, he also took another 30mins to do a consultation with my Mother. He was kind and genuinely caring. When I went into surgery the next day I almost had zero nerves because I knew what good hands I was in. The facility is top of the line, the operating room was large with lots of the latest technology equipment, sterile and clean. The nurses and care team were all reassuring and everyone was genuinely kind and caring. I felt so confident going in to my surgery and had an extended tummy tuck, muscle repair, breast lift and implants, some lipo in a couple areas. Dr Restrepo came in before surgery to meet me and gave me a warm hug. When I was done my surgery I forgot that my nurse was coming back to the suites with me. That was such a pleasant surprise but nothing like you get in Canada(which is where I’m from). My nurse came back with me, took my vitals every few hours and helped me get comfortable throughout the entire night. She attended to my every need and assured me in times of uncertainty. The next day the lovely cook made a breakfast for champions which was included in the package. It came with a fresh fruit smoothy, fresh fruit platter consisting of mangoes, pineapples, bananas, papaya and dragon fruit along with eggs made whichever way and then toast was optional. Coffee also optional. After breakfast the nurse would come and visit me and do a thorough checkup. After nurse visits was my massage lady. She was so gentle so even postop I still felt comfortable and she left after a relaxing 45min massage leaving me feeling so good and standing a little taller. Nurses and masseuse came everyday for my entire duration stay. I would sit on the balcony over looking the crashing waves eating breakfasts and dinner everyday. Recovery in paradise and then some.As a Canadian nurse myself I would go back to Premium care in a heart beat. The doctors are top of the line and you can tell how experienced they are through consultations. No question was too difficult for them to answer. I’m actually saving to go back for some more work. I’m so excited to have found these amazing people. My results are better than any of my friends who’ve paid triple the amount in North America and they only co tiniest to get better with each passing day. I’m almost one month post op. I love this place and I love these people. Nothing but good to say. Thank you to everyone in involved in my experience and transformation <3
(I will add pics when I get home next week. I'm still here in Cartagena) Procedures: tummy tuck(front), posterior lift(back), lipo to back, bra roll and the pouch of skin he was removing from the front, fat grafting to butt and hips(BBL) First of all I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU TO DR CAMPBELL AND ALL THE STAFF AT PCPS!!!! THANK YOU GUYS FOR MAKING THIS SO EASY!! Ok on to the review. Daniela was my coordinator. I came in Sept 2022 and personally met the Dr for my consultation. At that time I was 5'8 and 135. Practically no fat anywhere. BBL was off the table for me. I decided I was going to do the 360 body lift with breast lift no implants anyway without the BBL. Complications with my mammogram hindered the scheduled surgery date. The clinic kindly offered to reschedule when I was ready. Fast forward December 2023. I contacted Daniela and told her I'd be ready by Oct 1st. She said Oct 1st it is and then everything went so fast. I'm a tax accountant so taking 3 months off to recover was no problem for me. I gained 30lbs in anticipation of getting the BBL so I opted to do the breasts at a later date. Sept 28th I arrive in Cartagena. I opted to stay in another hotel prior to checking into the recovery suites. Hampton by Hilton. It is a 1 block walk to the Dr office. Sept 30th we walked to the Dr and Juan Carlos gave us a ride to H2, the recovery suites. They are beautiful and the view is breathtaking! I'm sitting in my bed right now, making this review, looking out my sliding door at the ocean with boats and jet skis going by. The sun sets on this side of the peninsula(Bocagrande) so I watch the sunset every night. Oct 1... wake up, shower with pre surgery soap, nothing on the skin, READY! Juan Carlos picks us up and we're off. It's a less than 10 minute ride to the Dr. Traffic is sometimes hectic. The walk is about 25 minutes (almost 2 miles). I see the Dr, he looks me over again, I get fitted for my fajas then off to see the anesthesiologist. We chat, he approves everything then the surgery nurses start their thing. I change into to gown, hat and compression socks. Legs are wrapped with garbage bags and IV is started. The Dr comes in to mark me up then I wait. Shortly after the green light is given. I'm wheeled into the surgery suite where I'm thoroughly cleaned with warm iodine (it's freezing in there) and helped onto the bed and covered with a big blanket. After waiting maybe 10 or 15 minutes, while the staff is connecting things and turning things on and getting things ready, the anesthesiologist comes up with the gas mask and says breathe. I know it's time so I breathe deeply. As I'm breathing I can feel the burn going up my arm from the anesthesia so I start counting backwards from 20. Before I reached 1 I was out. Next I remember the nurse was waking me up saying it was over, I was in the recovery room and everything went well. No complications! I was there for a while until I wasn't wobbly or dizzy, maybe 2 hours. Then they got me up, I walked to pee, then they put me in my faja. After that I was whisked away by wheelchair to Juan Carlos waiting outside to return us to the recovery suites. I was walking on my own. People were there to assist but I was walking and moving around with very little pain. The procedure started around 12 and I was at the recovery suites by 6pm eating chicken soup prepared for me. A nurse went home with me and made sure I took my meds on time all night. She's also there in case you have questions, concerns or complications. The next morning she left and the regular staff came in. The ladies are here everyday 7am-4:30pm. They clean your room daily, they prepare breakfast and it's included, they will also prepare lunch and/or dinner for you by request for a fee. There is a menu. The portions are huge. If you're sleeved you will go crazy looking at so much food on your plate you can't eat lol. The food is good. I ate meals prepared by them and I also used a delivery service Rappi. Love them! It's like Uber eats meets Instacart. Since my mobility was limited, Rappi was a great option. A nurse from the clinic comes every morning to take your vitals and pictures of your surgery sites. They start you with 10 massages. I stayed longer than the 14 days so I extended my massages. Carmen was great! I'm going to miss her. Now let's talk about pain. Day 1 post op I was very stiff and pain was at 7, day 2I... 6, day 4...5, day 5...3 and by day 6 there was barely any pain only discomfort and soreness from the lipo burn. The incision was painless. I quit my pain pills in the first week. But let me tell you when she does the massage, it will be uncomfortable. Mine hurt the first week but as the days went on they became less painful, then soothing. I had my last one yesterday. I had nothing but a wonderful surgery experience with Premium Care. I'm sad to check out tomorrow, but we enjoyed H2 so much we rented a unit downstairs for a few days for my family to come visit and have a mini vacation. I will see the Dr again Monday and Thursday before my flight. I will be back in April 2025 for a breast lift, arm lift and a face lift. I'm super excited and can't wait. I know I'll be in good hands with Dr. Campbell!
I had an AMAZING experience with Dr Campbell in Cartagena. It’s my second breast augmentation and he gave me exactly what I wanted - 100cc more. I will note I’ve always had symmetrical boobs and so going up a size 8yrs after my first surgery wasn’t pushing too many limits. Realizing my needle phobia, they let me get into the operating room and put me out with gas before hooking up the IVs which was incredible! I’m one day post op and able to walk around and do pretty much everything normally. My under nose stitches had to be trimmed but that’s the extent of the complaints department. I’m already off the pain medication and just taking the antibiotics. Video was super well filmed and informative with before and afters. Would 100% recommend coming here and if I want more changes in the future I’ll be back!
Thanks for your question and for sharing your photos. The trade-off for a tummy tuck is the scar, though we’ve never had a patient feel that it was not a good trade. Part of the art in plastic surgery is to make scars that are as hidden as possible, and the goal with a tummy tuck scar is for it to be a fine line that blends in well and sits below the bikini line. We place Micropore tape for the first three weeks, then transition to a scar care regimen that includes silicone gel and massage twice a day. This is the best-supported strategy in the literature and has noticeable results on scar maturation. An in-person assessment with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine the best approach for your goals and anatomy.
Thank you for sharing your photos. Based on your goals and current shape, a well-planned mommy makeover sounds like a very good fit. This combination can include a tummy tuck, breast lift with or without augmentation, liposuction (360 or targeted), and a Brazilian Butt Lift. All of those can be performed safely in the right hands, and they’re often done together to restore and reshape the body after childbirth. Yes, it’s possible to lift the breasts and correct nipple position and shape during surgery. "Flat" nipples can often be addressed as part of a lift or augmentation by reshaping the surrounding tissue. A skilled surgeon can help improve projection and contour while also restoring volume if needed. A skinny BBL, using smaller-volume fat transfer, can also be added. With this, you benefit from both sculpting problem areas with liposuction and enhancing your curves naturally using your fat. Your photos show you’re a good candidate for modest fat harvest from the torso, and we can shape the buttocks in a way that’s subtle, feminine, and fits your frame. We regularly perform combination procedures in 4–5 hours with a dual-surgeon approach to minimize operative time and optimize recovery. Most of our patients are up and walking the same day, and tapering off pain meds within a few days. Safety is the number one priority in all of this. The most important step is choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in combination surgeries like yours. Don’t settle for less.
Thank you for sharing your photos and background. Based on your photos, your breasts appear to have very little central volume and more fullness toward the sides, which is something we commonly see in patients with limited natural breast development. The most effective option to enhance shape and volume would likely be breast augmentation with implants. This can help create a fuller, more balanced appearance and better define the breast contours. A consultation will give you a clearer idea of what’s possible and what approach would give you the best results.
Thank you for sharing your photos and background. You appear to have fat available in the lower back and flanks that could likely be used for transfer. Sculpting these areas through liposuction and adding volume to the buttocks with fat grafting can enhance your curves in a very natural way. A full evaluation would help confirm the details and allow us to create a plan tailored to your goals. Regards.
Mommy makeovers involve various combinations of procedures to improve the breasts, abdomen, hips, back, arms, legs, buttocks, etc, after childbirth. Combination procedures are safe and very effective in the right hands. The surgeon HAS to be an expert in EACH procedure and must have a lot of experience in performing combination procedures, and can minimize the operative time. For example, we work in a team and would take around 4-5 hours for the complete operation. This allows us to get better results with less surgical time and less trauma. Our patients are typically walking the same day and tapering off of pain medications by 4-5 days. Within a week, our international patients are generally touring around Cartagena, enjoying the sites of this UNESCO World Heritage City. Patients progress to unrestricted activities by 2 months, just as the final results are settling in. Combination procedures can give powerful results, but SAFETY is KEY. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
