Age alone rarely determines a person’s candidacy for surgery. Overall health is much more important. You should be in good enough health to safely undergo general anesthesia, and you should inform your surgeon of any conditions that could impact your recuperation, such as bleeding disorders or diabetes. Not only is plastic surgery safe for people over 50, it’s actually quite popular with this demographic.
Thank you very much for your question. At the age of50, you fall in a common window for considering a Mommy Makeover procedure. However, there is no right age for this set of techniques. The most importantfactors are overall health, being close to your ideal body weight, and in mostcases, feeling like you are finished having children. The best way to find outif you are a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover will be to schedule aconsultation appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon. At this time,he/she will perform a physical evaluation and review your medical historybefore deciding if a Mommy Makeover will be the right technique to achieve yourdesired results
Yes it is very safe to have a mommy makeover after age 50. It is important that you are in good general health, and you are not overweight. Discuss any medical conditions you may have, and any medications you take with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Thanks for your inquiry. If you are in good health, you can consider a mommy makeover. Please seek an in person consultation to discuss, good luck.
Thank you for your question. Yes it is safe as long as you're healthy and don't have any major medical condition that would put you at risk. Combination procedures can give powerful results but SAFETY is KEY. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. If you are in good health and can obtain medical clearance from your primary physician, then you can safely undergo a mommy makeover. Your age is not a contraindication. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
As long as you are healthy and your board certified plastic surgeon feels you are a good candidate, then there is no reason why you couldn’t do the surgery. Health is more important than age, so a healthy seventy year old is easier to work with than a fifty year old with multiple health issues. I hope this helps.
Hi, thank you for the question, This will depends on your medical history and health conditions, in my practice this have been done to patients over 60 years without risk. Ask your MD if he says is ok, then there in no problem.
Hello and thank you for your question. It can be safe to perform a mommy makeover in someone over 50 years of age. Now, obviously this depends on the the individual and their health. However, a healthy 50+ patient, with no major medical problems who is a good candidate for mommy makeover can undergo this procedure safely. I will usually get at least a medical clearance in my 50+ patients just to make sure heart and lungs as well as overall health is ok. I have attached a link below of one of my patients who is 50+ and underwent liposuction, tummy tuck and breast lift! I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck!
Yes, many women over the age of 50 have surgery. As long as you are healthy there is no reason you cannot have a mommy makeover. I have my patients schedule a pre admissions testing appointment to ensure there are no health concerns prior to surgery. For my patients over 50 having a mommy makeover, this includes an H&P, some blood work, an EKG and a mammogram.
