A "Mommy Makeover" is not a single procedure, but a combination of procedures to restore and enhance the appearance of a woman's body following her pregnancies. The result is smoother skin texture as well as a more youthful, slimmer appearance. A Mommy Makeover involves a combination of procedures:1. Breast augmentation, lift, augmentation with a lift, or reduction 2. Liposuction of the abdomen or abdominoplasty (mini or full) 3. Liposuction of the hips, thigh, or buttocks The choice of procedures depends on your aesthetic goals-each treatment is individualized. The procedures can generally be performed together or individually as a staged process. You would benefit from a breast lift w/augmentation which would reshape and lift your breasts. A tummy-tuck would tighten skin, reduce stretch marks, and repair separated muscles. Liposuction would reduce any fatty accumulation. The cost would depend on the procedures recommended. I would recommend consulting with a Plastic Surgeon certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery well versed in all of the procedures available for the "Mommy Makeover" Best Regards, Andrew Lyos, MD, FACS
Thank you for your question. The answer is yes. Mommy makeovers involve various combinations of proceudres to improve the breasts, abdomen, hips, back, arms, legs, buttocks, etc Combination procedures are safe and very effective in the right hands. The surgeon has to be an expert in each procedure and must have a lot of experience in performing combination procedures and can minimize the operative time. For example, we work in a team and would take around 4-5 hours for the complete operation. This allows us to get better results with less surgical time and less trauma. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Find a PS who is an expert at all of those surgeries, and then let that PS help you make the decision. I perform these procedures in combination, frequently and efficiently, on healthy patients. Look for PSs who consistently produce the results you expect. Visit their websites for before and after photos and patient reviews.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
It is possible to do it all in one if you are in good health and have plenty time for recovery after the surgery usually, takes 2 or 3 weeks. Please make sure your primary physician make a basic evaluation with a lab test. We also recommend, to begin with, iron pill if is necessary in your case. Please make sure to make an appointment with a board-certified Plastic Surgeon to talk about your concerns and goals.Good luck :)
Combining procedures is commonly done. A consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area is the place to begin. An evaluation of your medical history will be done to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedures you are considering. If so, it is feasible to have all of these completed in one surgical day.
It is difficult to tell you without any pictures, but 4 days post op is too early to see any final results, expect a few months for swelling and everything to go down, continue to follow up with your PS.
