Answer: Bruising Swelling and bruising are common after lip injections and can persist up to two weeks. Your bruising appears to be within normal limits. You should wait until two weeks after the injections before considering other treatment to allow the swelling and bruising to resolve.

Answer: Duration of bruising after lip augmentation procedure Thanks for sharing your photos. In the usual course of events, a lip augmentation procedure is followed with swelling and bruising that can persist for up to 2 weeks. Looking at your photos, I don’t see any unusual bruising or swelling. It is a common after effect of any injectable filler. You will be able to see final results after the major part of the recovery process has occurred, in about 2 weeks. If the bruising and swelling lasts longer than the usual period or you develop other unusual symptoms, it is advised that you consult your injector to find out the reason for your symptoms.I hope this helps.

Answer: Normal lip augmentation bruising Based on your photos, there doesn't appear to be anything unusual about your bruising. It is a common side effect of any injectable. You will need to wait 2 weeks for the swelling and bruising to resolve (arnica may help) before judging your final results. In general, of the lightweight fillers, I prefer Volbella for the lips.

Answer: Is This Bruising Normal After 3 Days? Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Sorry that you are having some concerns about your postprocedure appearance. Swelling and bruising are common after treatment with fillers, especially when the lips are treated. I recommend that my patients avoid NSAIDS, aspirins and fish oils for 1 week prior to a planned injection in order to minimize the risk for bruising. I also recommend avoiding bending, heavy lifting and strenuous activities for 24 hours after the procedure to minimize the risk for bruising. Based on your photos, you appear to have normal postprocedure swelling and bruising. I recommend icing for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Arnica may be beneficial for minimizing normal postprocedure swelling and bruising. Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow for normal postprocedure swelling and bruising to resolve and to see your final result. If you continue to have any concerns, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action. I prefer to use either Juvederm Ultra or Volbella for lip augmentation and perioral rejuvenation. Hope this helps and best wishes!

Answer: Bruising after fillers Hello and thank you for your question. This is one topic that we tell all of our patients before they walk into our injection room. Some people bruise, some people do not bruise and there are some in the middle. Bruising is common and may last 7-10 days after the injection. you can use cover up to hide some of the bruising or better yet a tinted sunscreen that can hide some of the bruising while protecting you skin. Hope this helps
