Will Aetna pay for the removal of ruptured silicone implants? What health problems could silicone cause?

 There are never any guarantees. However in the case of reconstructed breasts removal of the implants is usually always paid for by the insurance company. Good luck and of course if you have pain they are more likely they will pay for it.

Yes, your insurance should cover removal based on your history of breast cancer and the current problems you are having. 

Since your implants were placed for medical reconstruction, their removal should be covered.  However each plan varies, so I recommend contacting Aetna to find the benefit parameters for your particular policy.

Insurance companies are all different but in the case you describe I think it is likely to be covered.  See your surgeon and they can evaluate you, discuss the planned procedure, and send a letter to your insurance company prior to the operation to make sure the operation will be covered.  Good luck!

Surgery for ruptured silicone implants typically is covered in your situation.  You will need to f/u with your physician to create a plan, and send for pre-authorization for the surgery.  Ruptured silicone implants can lead to contracture, granulomas, and sometimes pain.  I typically recommend replacing them soon after the rupture is diagnosed.  

Yes you should have coverage.  I do a large number of cases related to breast cancer and this has not been an issue.
