For subfascial implant removal do the capsules need to be removed as well or can they be left in long term? Will the fascia readhere to the muscle if the capsules are left in? Will there be discomfort if left in? Thank you in advance!
Hello, my implants are saline and are 23 years old. (I am 56). I weighed 118 lbs when I had them done. Maintained weight for many years until menopause. (Then gained 80 lbs). Ive currently lost 60 (20 over the course of a year or so and 40 recently within six months). I feel my natural breasts are literally hanging off my implants they have weird looking humps and slopes in certain angles. Im not sure if they need to be REMOVED followed by a lift - OR just lifted and keeping the implants if its deemed they are salvageable (I sort of wouldnt mind going back to a smaller breasted woman for the back nine of life - or so I think ). I sometimes feel the 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty is well beyond its lifespan . Also had tummy tuck at same time 23 years ago and due to the weight loss I have lose skin (I made another post regarding this) I feel the skin is very loose again but could be pulled up if I had removal / lift / reverse tummy tuck. Pictures showing everything and even pulling skin upwards and showing the amount of skin Im talking about. Thank you!
I have had saline implants for 24 yrs (and silicone for 18 yrs before that. I want to either get much smaller implants with a lift, or possibly just a lift with no implants. I feel like Im going to need to see what my breasts look like without implants before deciding but dont really want 2 surgeries. Is it possible to just deflate them, let things settle and then decide? I will need a lift either way. Thank you
Ive got my breast implant removal book in a few weeks. Ive got a dental abscess and currently on antibiotics for it. My dentist is wanting to wait a while before doing the root canal so it wont be done before my surgery. Should my surgery be postponed or would this not affect it.
6 months ago I had 20-yr old large implants removed and a lift. I noticed my skin stretching slightly off of my sternum after getting the original implants but since they have been removed, its obviously much. I am a bit surprised that my surgeon didnt address this recently during the X plant and lift. She did mention things like dermal matrixes, or the only way to fix it would be new implants, but seems reluctant to address it. I need a second opinion but not sure where to start.
Hello it's been three weeks since I had a capsulectomy and explant of silicone implants under the muscle. Drains on for 3 days. It appears that I have developed a seroma. I had my surgery performed by a doctor in the US. However I live thousands of miles away, us virgin Islands. I saw the local ps and he said my body will reabsorb the fluid which is not much. He doesn't think that I need to keep my breast compressed or anything. I'm afraid of continued fluid build up. What can do at home?
I have chronic pain and other than daily pain meds I also take up to 3 soma a day.. I hope that getting my heavy 525cc implants removed helps relieve some of my pain.. I wrote all my meds down at my pre op apt and was only told to stop my 800mg ibuprofen rx but after reading all my paperwork I just saw it says soma on list of meds to stop? One website said to just not take the day of.. Confused and it's Saturday the office is closed, my surgery is this Thursday should I stop asap?!
I just had breast explant surgery (silicone, and above the muscle) and today is day three post-op. My breasts are not very sore at all, except a little discomfort at the incision site below my breasts, but I am experiencing bloating and pain in my stomach, my sides and back. I feel like I have been punched in the stomach. I have some sort of harness marks on my midsection and shoulders. Do they invert you on the operating table to explant? and, should I be concerned about a sore mid-section?
I have 13 year old implants. Right breast had a painful capsule since the very beginning. 1 month ago that right implant popped and thankfully no more pain. I am looking to remove implants and do a full lift (anchor). I have visited several doctors and one doctor will do under local anesthesia and sedation with no drains. Is this common?? I like that the recover will be faster than general anesthesia and no drains but I also want the safest option.
