On Feb15 2024 I had my explant surgery in Austin with Dr. Whitfield.
I had to wait for this appointment for 6 months because Dr. Whitfield has so many patients. I was excited to get the implants out, I had severe BII Symptoms, like:
- Hair loss
- Insomnia
- joint pain, couldnt make a fist without pain
- neck and shoulder pain
- brittle nails and hair
- problems with vision
- memory problems
- massive brain fog
Long story short: My body was massively inflamed.
Dr. Whitfield starts with an extensive pre check. 6 months before the surgery I went to his office to get bloodwork done, urine test, stool test and DNA test.
They checked levels of heavy metals, mold, pesticides and food intolerance.
I got a individual food plan with foods to avoid and foods to eat for the next month to prepare for surgery.
I also got specific supplements from the Dr to bring inflammation down.

The diet and the supplements worked very well, by december i felt so good, that I almost thought I dont need the explant anymore. But I am so glad they made me pay upfront to commit, because now, with the implants out, I am happier than i have been in a long time.

I arrived in Austin 5 days before the surgery to get settled in an nice Airbnb just 10min from his office.

I was so nervous before the surgery.
In the days before I was crying, I was nervous, I couldnt sleep. I was wondering how would my breast look like afterwards? Would I be ugly?
Would the symptoms really go away?
Was it the right decision?

The day before surgery I saw the doctor and the nurse. They were really nice and accommodating. They took before pictures and gave me medicine that I had to take the night before surgery.

The doctor even gave me a 100 Dollar voucher for a health food restaurant to have a nice dinner before surgery.

At the day of sugery, at 5 am we arrived at the surgery center. My friend drove me, because I couldnt drive because of the medication. I was calmer and felt supported by the staff at the center.

The doc and the nurses all were very nice and caring and calmed me down.
I got anesthesia and woke up 4 hours later and you wont believe it, I felt really good.

I had this after explant glow that so many people talk about.
I felt so good, so free, so light and I felt like myself again.

But i was in pain as well.
I had not only the en bloc explant, I also had a lift and fat transfer, so my body hurt.

Fortunately the breast didnt hurt, because Dr, Whitfield somehow blocks the nerves in the breast and upper body.
But my legs hurt extremely.

The first 2 days I was on a lot of painkillers.

Since then it gets better day by day.

It is Day 4 after explant now.

I already saw my breast and it looks surprisingly good.
I am happy with the result, even though I know it will change over the next 6 months.
I like how small and natural it looks.

And most of all, I like how I feel.

Brainfog was gone immediatly.
Neck and shoulder pain is gone.
Joint pain was already gone with the anti inflammatory diet they gave me.

I feel good. I feel alive. It was the right decision.

The aftercare at his clinic is also phenomenal. I get to do Balancer and HBOT every day to support the healing. Balancer is a lymph drainage device, which is very relaxing and helps the body to let go of the fluids and HBOT is a hyperbaric oxygen chamber that helps the body heal.

The stuff at his office is very nice, the nurses are super kind and they are all very supportive. You can call them anytime when you have questions or need anything.

Dr., Whitfield is probably more expensive than some other doctors, but i decided this time I am going for the best and not for the affordable.
This is a one time thing and I wanted to make the right decision.

I am beyond happy with everything about my explant surgery....before, during and where I am at now in the healing process. After suffering from breast implant illness I finally decided to see a surgeon regarding my ongoing issues that were extremely debilitating. My journey with Dr. Whitfield began 2 almost 3 years ago. I am 42 years old and had my first breast augmentation at 19 years old. I had surgery to remove 25 year old saline implants and a lift with new Gummy implants to correct my drooping breasts. From my very first appointment I new that he would be perfect for me. Dr Rob really listened to my questions and concerns, and took the time to explain the complexities of my surgery in a language I could understand.

The results for a 68 year old woman trying to look 48 are phenomenal!!! I love my new boobs!

Dr. Rob will not push a procedure on you that he doesn’t think will benefit you, just to make money! I wanted the new Evolve Skin Tite procedure to tighten my love handles, but Dr. Rob did not think I would benefit from this particular procedure. I was disappointed, but he is the BOSS, and I trust him implicitly.

Over the years I've developed stubborn bra fat in my back. No matter how much I dieted or exercised, it would not go away. Loose skin just gets worse with age. Dr. Whitfield started to talk about this new "Evolve" system on his social media and I was intrigued. I called, spoke with him about it over a virtual, HIPPA compliant system and was able to book the appointment right away.
In the time of COVID-19, safety is paramount. The moment I arrived at the office, Dr. Whitfield's staff did absolutely everything to ensure that the environment was clean and safe. I was provided with a mask and gloves. Special filters are all over the patient rooms.
The procedure itself is absolutely painless. The devices go on first to suction and apply the heat and radio-frequency to reduce the fat cells. You can feel the suction, but it's not painful. I do have some temporary marks on my back but they're already fading just 12 hours later. The second application is for tightening the skin in the area. It applies heat, but with the use of ultrasound gel, it's just like getting a massage treatment. While the treatment was going on, I sat comfortably in a chair and kept up with Twitter, watched some YouTube videos, and messaged family.
We could see results right away when I was in the office. This morning I looked in the mirror and the change is DRASTIC. This is only the first of 3 treatments (each treatment will be 1 week apart). I'm so flipping impressed and happy with the results. I had gotten to the point where I felt like I couldn't wear tight shirts due to having "back boobs." I cannot wait to see and share what happens after the next two treatments!!!

After a mere TWO treatments of Evolve, nearly all of the rolls in my back have been eliminated. The results are much better than I could have ever expected! This time I have pictures! Each treatment was a week apart. The picture on the left is before we did anything. The picture on the right is 2 weeks later after 2 treatments to my bra line. I love the results so much that I've added on the love handle area too!

Dr. Whitfield is a wonderful surgeon and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I had 9 year-old silicone implants and concerns that one of them had ruptured. Dr. Whitfield was incredibly patient when explaining different options for me and even took the time to connect me with a past patient of his, who had been in a similar situation. I was able to get an MRI that informed me that I did not have an implant rupture prior to my surgery.

Ultimately, I decided to swap my silicone implants for saline and Dr. Whitfield was able to give me the lift that I desired by using minimally invasive methods. I trust that he wants what’s best for his patients and that he is willing to take the time to discuss all options with his patients. I am so happy with my results and didn’t even expect that my breasts would look even better after an exchange.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Whitfield. He did an explant and removed my 10-year-old implants because I was suffering from breast implant illness. I started feeling better almost immediately. Five months later, he also did a fat transfer (FT) to my breast to increase my breast volume. He transferred 380ccs to each breast from my flanks and thighs. I could not be happier with my result. My lipo areas are perfectly done and I have experienced no issues with healing. He hid my cannula entrance scars nicely and have been very available for questions and offered amazing support for my healing. I wore a compression garment 24/7 for 8 weeks. He also suggested lymphatic massage and gave me a reference to call which I feel has enhanced my results.
