Dr. Thellman did a great job with my left ear lobe repair in September. My ear lobe wasn’t ripped but the piercing had become big and severely stretched out. The procedure went smooth and fast. The first two days were painful for me but I have a low pain tolerance. After the initial pain, I felt a lot of itching while the stitches were in. Once the stitches were removed, the itching was gone and I couldn’t believe how good it looked. Once I healed, I was able to get the ear lobe pierced again! His nurse took her time to ensure that everything was lined up with my right ear piercing. She did great! When I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe that I was wearing studs because I hadn’t been able to wear them for many years. I have always wanted this procedure but I was scared of the pain and the cost. During my consultation, I was able to find out exactly how much it would cost and Dr. Thellman explained the procedure in detail and answered all my questions. I’m so happy I invested in myself and had this done. I no longer have to feel insecure about my ears when wearing earrings.
I’ve always had super thin lips. After using the Juvederm and loving the look I was quite disappointed that due to my metabolism it wasn’t lasting. I spoke to my PS and he recommended the far transfer. I’m Day 2 post op and the swelling is starting to cease but as you can see pretty bruised still. He said anywhere between 25 to 80 percent of the fat cells will transplant. Hoping more like 60. Lol. The most painful part of this was the actual numbing for the liposuction and nerve block of my lips. Didn’t really feel anything Else. I will try and keep the photos updated Updated on 30 Jun 2019: Swelling going down nicely. Hoping I don’t lose too much. I of course may be paranoid because the juvederm injections didn’t last long at all. Updated on 1 Jul 2019: I week out tomorrow. I would like to hold right here but scared they continue to get smaller Updated on 2 Jul 2019: Surgeon feels like this may be where they will stay. If not may repeat in a few months. Updated on 5 Jul 2019: Holding in volume pretty happy
I had a great experience with Dr. Thellman and his staff when I had my arm lift. They are always so friendly and encouraging at my appointments. I lost 170+ pounds after weight loss surgery so I have a lot of extra skin in multiple areas. I decided to start with my arms because they bothered me the most. I’m looking forward to going back to have him remove more excess skin from my tummy and thighs.
Mother of six children. Lost my motivation after I was injured on my last deployment and gave up on my active lifestyle. Recently regained my motivation and lost 80 lbs, but have loose skin and my current implants need replaced. (10 years old). Very nervous and excited. Updated on 17 Sep 2018: You would think I wouldn’t be nervous, being a nurse. But here I am a ball of nerves, but excited at the same time. Hopefully soon I can post some updates Updated on 23 Sep 2018: First few days were not so good. Day 3 I quit taking pain meds due to nausea and now only taking tylenol. It’s working great, but yes of course there is pain. I knew there would be. My breasts barely hurt. No bleeding. These pics are day 5. Still not able to stand fully erect so hard to tell the position of breast, but very happy with the size. Can’t wait to see the tummy tuck results after swelling is gone if my tummy is already flat. The implants are Natrelle Silicone sub muscular 640 grams. Moderate profile. Total weight of skin and tissue removal from abdomen was just over 1700 grams (3.5 lbs). Not sure on liposuction. Updated on 24 Sep 2018: A lot of in box questions about why I don’t have drains. Dr Thellman uses a no drain technique with his abdominoplasty. It has to do with the way he sutures and closes. It has been phenomenal. From the pictures you can see I have minimal bruising and swelling and have had no drainage since POD2. I cannot say enough about him and his staff. The Surgical Staff at Lawrence Surgical Center have also been phenomenal. Supportive and kind. Updated on 25 Sep 2018: Well I’m up moving by myself now. I couldn’t have done this week without my sister. I’m a bit tearful at times but because I’m happy. I never expected such good results. I know it’s early and still swollen, but I jut can’t believe the difference. Updated on 26 Sep 2018: I see changes everyday. My breast look amazing but I can’t seem to get a good pic. Belly flattest in morning. I’m worried that I didn’t see the weight gain everyone talked about. Actually losing, but eating like crazy. Updated on 27 Sep 2018: He said everything is looking good. Small healing issue in right breast. He retaped it and said he would see me in a week. Tummy looks amazing “his words”. Can’t believe how well I’m recovering. Updated on 28 Sep 2018: So I’ve had some inbox mail about why my breast descended/dropped so fast and how I did it. The answer is I had submuscular implants that were being replaced so I already had the pocckets. These implants were just a bit wider and moderate profile to give me a more natural look. I’m almost 47 not 25. Lol. Very happy with the way they are shaping up. Updated on 30 Sep 2018: It’s important to wear your binder everyday. I only remove mine for bathing and to check incision site. It helps to prevent seromas and swelling and helps to “reattach” abdominal wall. Wear that binder girls Updated on 30 Sep 2018: Before, POD 2, POD 12 Updated on 2 Oct 2018: I will post op at one week intervals from here on and on Doctors appointments. Doing well. See doctor Friday. I can’t wait to stand totally straight and be able to stretch. As an Athlete and former dancer it is important to have good Posture and support core. Updated on 5 Oct 2018: It amazes me how well the body heals in a week. External incisions are approximated and closed. Scar is very flat, but my PS likes to keep the tape on as long as possible to keep the scarring minimal. Updated on 9 Oct 2018: Everything looks good. Always flatter in the Morning after rest. Have small area on my abdominal incision I’m not sure about, but don’t want to remove my tape without PS approval and proper dressing supplies..I.e. mastisol or glue stick. But over all couldn’t have asked for better results. Continue to be Happy with results, Surgeon, and Staff! Updated on 13 Oct 2018: I really debated putting this post but I think it is important to realize for myself and others, there will be bumps in the road to recovery. As a nurse myself I realize this, but it can still be disheartening. Right at week three I developed a red raised area with white center. Went to see my surgeon and of course it was a spitting stitch. He removed it. Cleaned it. Removed tape from that area. No Antibiotics were necessary. Within 24 hour I noticed redness all along the tape line and underneath. Pulled tape back and had serous filled blisters. This may not be a true tape allergy, maybe just shearing from tape. My final decision was to post pics in progression to let others know if this happens, it’s normal. It looks worse before better. But than begins to resolve quickly. This is my healing over just five days. Still totally worth it! Stay on top of wound care as your PS directs if this happens. Updated on 15 Oct 2018: So as you can see the wound is coming along nicely. Have to check for this area in my right hip for possible Seroma aspiration today. Last bit not least, I could not be more than thrilled with this cute little belly button I have. I was actually tearful when looking where I came from to where I am now. Thanks again Dr Thellman! Updated on 16 Oct 2018: Everything is looking good. Hopefully this tape comes off breast soon. Started Biocorneum on my other incisions. Updated on 23 Oct 2018: Just truckin along here. Couple of wound Issues but very minor. Once I settled with it was going to happen, I’m totally okay. When those stitches surface, early intervention is the key. Left breast is tad smaller, but knew it would be due to the previous lumpectomy. PS says we can do a fat graft if I want, but Going to wait and see how it settles. Left breast had more reconstruction than right. Belly button is amazing. No issues, which is funny because I’m worried about it most. Tummy tuck also coming a long nicely. May need a minor incision revision on right, but won’t know for six months or so. Still very flat tummy with minimal swelling in evenings. Annnnnd finally cleared for work on November 1! Woot woot! Updated on 24 Oct 2018: Yay! 36 DD Updated on 31 Oct 2018: Weekly update. Going back to work tomorrow. finally. I find mornings are best. I wear my binder 24/7 except during showers. Only couple more stitches have surfaced. Back at the gym 5 days a week but not at full capacity. Hear so many different opinions on starting core work since I had muscle repair so I’ve decide to split the difference and go with 10 weeks. Just doing pelvic tilts at this point. Also continuing with the Biocorneum on scars. Will probably need some scar revision down the line, but will hold off for quite some time on this. Happy healing everyone and hope you are having a great Halloween! Updated on 31 Oct 2018: Better front view and Belly Button view. Updated on 9 Nov 2018: Little bit late, but not many changes except swelling during work. Wear compression and binder during my shift, and try to rest, bet well I’m a nurse. Lol. It seems to resolve quickly once I’m home and rested. Incision is dark but very flat which is promising. Color will fade in time. 2 month check is next week. Updated on 15 Nov 2018: Not a lot of changes at this point. Continuing with Biocorneum scar therapy. I find after on for awhile it starts to itch. Usually wash it off and use some Eucerin lotion. Works well for dryness caused by Kansas cold weather. Doc says everything is looking good. If little dog ear on tummy tuck isn’t fatter by six months he will revise. Working out 5-6 days. Started ab work. Hopefully start seeing those abs soon. Was going through closet the other day, purging. It’s amazing to me how big I actually was. So glad I lost the weight and had the surgery. Love my surgeon and all of his staff!!?????? Updated on 1 Dec 2018: Very emotional day. I’ve been working pretty hard at the gym. Woke up with a bit more definition today. ???? Updated on 21 Dec 2018: Well not many changes. Just more tightening. I feel like pictures make my scars darker than they are. They’re really a very light pink. Haven’t been able to go to the gym as much as I like because if the temporary schedule I have. Back to 12’s next week! Woot woot! Updated on 28 Dec 2018: Started noticing this about a week ago. Had my 3 month check ( a bit late due to Holiday) and discussed with PS. He was so nice. Said he could lipo that area in the office for free. I have to call and schedule next week. I will post update pics after. Updated on 6 Jan 2019: Pretty flat in the morning before workout. 3 1/2 months post op Updated on 7 Feb 2019: I had my right hip revised because it had a fat pocket that needed removed . It has been 6 days and still a bit swollen but still looks 100 % better as you can see. If your new to my reviews you can find my mommy makeover review to see my journey. I am now about 4 1/2 months out from surgery. Updated on 24 Feb 2019: Continue to be more than happy. Some have asked me if I had any butt work done, the answer is no. Just working it in the gym. The hip revision has healed nicely. Put a comparison photo up this time Updated on 22 Mar 2019: Well I’m sitting 6 months post op and still pretty elated by my results. I’ve had some people inbox me about my results and I want to say a couple things. The closer you are to your idea body weight before your surgery the better. This is by no means a weight loss surgery. You also have to put in the work after surgery. I’m in the gym 5-6 times a week as my work and family schedule permits. I’ve worked with my physician, nutritionist, and dietician before surgery as well as after. You have to make the decision to have healthy lifestyle changes. As far as personal trainers go, I haven’t found one that really understands the female body post age 45 with cardiac history. Anyway, everyone’s experience is different. Updated on 16 Sep 2019: Here I am one year out from my Mommy Makeover and still elated from my results. I can fit into clothes I want to wear and my tummy is Flat. Full Disclosure: I work out 5-6 times a week. You have to maintain the work your surgeon does for you. That being said my surgeon is amazing and we will be working on a few other areas soon.
Hi Real Self readers....I wasn't going to write a review, but a couple things changed my mind. The first being my age, at 57 I'm in a minority. The second thing that had me wanting to write a review is the Doctor and his staff that performed the surgery. The basics are I am 57 and have always been a 32A, except for the brief time when I nursed my two daughters. I am 5'1", if I stand REAL tall, and weigh about 98 lbs. I'm one that wanted to look like a woman for once in my life, but I didn't want to go too big. My surgery was performed June 24th, 2014. I had Smooth Natrelle style 20 with 300 cc's placed under the muscle with the incision under the breast. My doctor assured me it would give me a nice natural look, with a little "wow" factor. He was so right! You can well imagine that after all this time, having any sort of breast is quite the new experience. I never imagined I wouldn't be able to reach across and scrub my back the way I have for my entire life. Oh believe me, I am not complaining, it's just that for you women that have had a B cup or above, you'll never understand all the new things I am discovering with my new breasts. I love them and each and every new discovery. The surgery went great and it only took a couple days of meds to deal with the pain and discomfort. My surgeon put me in a post surgical bra which had an elastic band attached to the top portion. He had me wear it for a couple of weeks and then cut the top band off. I'm now about 2 1/2 months post surgery, I've been wearing a soft comfy sports bra and for the past month I've been sleeping without one on. Yesterday I saw my doctor for a follow up and was told I could now wear whatever I wanted. My left breast has not dropped like the right, but there are a couple of factors that contribute to that from what Nurse Nancy told me. The first, being right handed, the muscle has received a bigger work out, which with the implants being under the muscle, the are massaged whenever that muscle moves. The second reason might possibly be because at two weeks post op I was involved in a slight fender bender and my seat belt sits on top of my left breast, but right across the right one. It could be that the sudden jolt with the seatbelt tightening upon impact forced the right one down a bit. Doc said it wasn't anything unusual for the breast to drop at different rates. A few last thoughts....If you're anywhere around my age and are considering a BA, please don't hesitate. I so wish I'd of done this 20 years ago, but I'm glad I finally did it. I like the way my clothes fit and I just feel better having a womanly shape over the teeny bopper one I've had most of my life. Please research your Surgeon and be completely comfortable and confident with him and his staff. Dr Thellman, Lawrence, KS and his nurse Nancy are the absolute BEST! I'm going to be sad when the follow up visits come to an end, because I will miss them. They are kind, considerate, professional, thoughtful and they have a wonderful sense of humor, which carries throughout the office. It was just an overall amazing experience. Nancy and Dr Thellman took the time to help me with the sizing and have been encouraging and helpful. I called them bright and early the morning after my car accident and they got me right it. I was an emotional mess, worried about the new breasts and extremely ruffled from the whole accident experience, which was my first by the way. They showed real concern and took the time to ask about the accident and assured me that all was well with the implants. I want to THANK each and every one of you on this site for sharing your experience, the highs, the lows, the facts and the broad spectrum of emotion that goes along with the decision. The support, encouragement, information and pictures have been and continue to be so valuable. Bless you all! Updated on 16 Aug 2014: Everyone on this site knows it's all about the boobs, so I am braving it and posting a couple pictures of the new set. I'd also like to make a correction, Dr Thellman's nurse is Karen, not Nancy and she's the best!
I have had great results over the last 16 weeks, no pain, and my eyelashes are even longer when I use mascara. I would do it all over again! Can you get permanent makeup (eyeliner) done while using Latisse?
My body changed a lot after two kids, one of who was 10.5 lbs! Both were born via c-section so there was definitely some damage left behind! I’m 5’10 and 215 lbs and a size 14. I am happy with my size. I enjoy being curvy or “thicker” but I am not happy with my lower stomach, upper pubic and breasts. I have excess skin and a visible tummy line under my clothes and my breasts have lost pretty much all their volume up top. I had my first consultation with Dr. Thellman and I fell in love with him and his nurse! They are funny and keep it light but also very knowledgeable! I couldn’t believe how much time they spent with me going over my concerns and questions. They made me feel so comfortable that I booked that day! My official pre-op appointment is on NYE and I can’t wait! Currently looking at post-op garments since he said I can bring my own. I want a full body zip up kind of thing so we will see what I can find! Updated on 4 Jan 2020: I had my pre op appointment and the check he cleared ???? My surgery is officially scheduled for January 14th! I’m very nervous and my anxiety has definitely spiked since my appointment. I will be under for 5.5 hours which terrifies me but I know I am in good hands. Right now I am getting my post op medications, special chair and just my general area I order. Along with writing out kids schedules for my husband and best friend to help out with!
Well I have had the ladies since 4th grade.. Getting made fun of, being made the center of attention, gawked at, double takes, people wanting to touch/see we all know the everyday routine.. Well 15 years and my dream has finally come true!! I am scheduled for my reduction on April 14th!!!! I started the process with my surgeon on March 9th, Insurance had it approved March 18th, and I set up my pre opp and operation yesterday! To say I'am excited is an understatement!! Now I anxiously await!! I am doing my pre opp over the phone since I am a good 2 hours from where my procedure will be done! My doctor is so considerate of you, and I couldn't be more thankful for him!! I guess I will update once I do my pre opp, Im not to sure what to expect with that and am excited to learn what I will be needing/expecting after surgery. Any advice is welcomed!! Thanks! Jessi!
I love limited incision face lifts and have had nice results for years with the right patients. But I think there may be an easier answer for you at age 31. Despite your weight loss you appear to have good quality skin but I do see the jowling that bothers you. This could be addressed with liposuction to the jowls, a quick procedure done in the office with local anesthesia. I believe your skin would contract nicely and the jowls would be gone. You'll save the time, money, and recovery of a more extensive procedure. Of course it won't address the eyes. Hard to tell without examining you in person, but filler might be the most straightforward procedure right now given your skin quality. I'd suggest an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. As you've seen from the variety of answers there are multiple options but all depend on the quality of your skin which can be difficult to judge in photos. Best of luck!
If you had your reduction done through insurance then presumably it was because of symptoms caused by the heavy weight of your breasts. If you now miss your old size, implant placement is an option to give you back some fullness. My concern is putting 425cc implants in might cause your symptoms to return. A smaller implant might be able to give you the fullness you want without a return of your symptoms. See a Board Certified plastic surgeon experienced with breast reduction revision procedures.
It appears you have bulging of the infraorbital fat pads. This is often hereditary and you might notice it in your parents and siblings. It's not necessarily age related but it does worsen as we get older. You would be a good candidate for a transconjunctival blepharoplasty which can reduce these bulging fat pads with no external scar. Most of the time this procedure can be done in the office using a local anesthetic. Skin tightening procedures (Morpheus, etc) will probably have minimal benefit, as you've already seen.
From the photos it looks like your scars are still immature and may improve over time. If not you could consider a scar revision. These are much less involved than your original lift and you should discuss it with your surgeon. From the looks of your areola it looks like you may have experienced some delayed wound healing in this area with loss of the pigment cells. This may not improve.
Zara 2019,As you are only 6 weeks out I would give the tissues more time to heal and settle into their final appearance. I would hold off on using a suction device unless you talk to your surgeon first. They may be fine with it at this point but I don't want you to spoil a good result.
