Filter reviews by procedure My healing was fast, my check-ins were breezy and uncomplicated, and my results are impressive I highly recommend Dr. Baxter as a skilled surgeon who keeps up with best practices and whose personality puts patients at ease. He is very calm and kind, he answered all my questions and concerns in our first meeting, clearly explained my options, supporting his advice with best practice research. There are many approaches to brow lifts and he explained that over the years he became less impressed with endoscopic lifts - they seemed not to last long enough. For my highly lined, heavy brow and droopy eyelids he chose a temporal brow lift (2 incisions either side at hairline) and used a hemostatic netting technique- a kind of quilted stitch pattern horizontally across the brow- combined with an upper eyelid revision.
I had consulted with four other plastic surgeons in the Seattle area over the last four years in search of the right "fit" for me. I looked for a combination of positive reviews, evidence of skill and efficient/friendly support staff, and calm manner. I really could not see having my face in the hands of a person who did not put me at ease- difficult enough to take the plunge for cosmetic, elective surgery. Originally I consulted surgeons just for an upper eyelid lift, but the surgeon before Dr. Baxter suggested my brow was really contributing to my "tired look". By the time I consulted with Dr. Baxter I was pretty sure a brow lift was necessary to achieve the total lift I needed. He did not try to persuade me to do any other procedures, he agreed with the other surgeon that to be satisfied, I needed two complimentary procedures. He did not exert any pressure on me- he merely answered my questions and gave me the facts. The surgery itself was a surprisingly easy process, Dr. Baxter's team are warm, caring and intelligent offering good follow on care. My healing was fast, my check-ins were breezy and uncomplicated, and my results are impressive. Like so many others, I thought "gosh I should have done this a few years ago!".
I would go back to Dr. Baxter in a heartbeat. He is skilled and I have recommended him to others. I want to mention that 14 years ago I had laser resurfacing which was incredibly uncomfortable and actually painful, and my recovery process was a beast. My brow and eyelid lift was a total walk in the park by comparison! I am very happy to have moved forward with both surgeries and would go back to Dr. Baxter for any other procedure I contemplate in the future.
Cannot wait for when I am healed Breast Implant Revision
1 day post-op
I had such a wonderful positive experience at Phase Plastic Surgery from the day I called for a consult all the way to my surgery day. My 9 year old implants placed by a different surgeon were both ruptured, and I had an animation deformity. The staff was always so attentive and kind. I felt extremely confident in Dr. Baxter’s plan for me and he is very thorough. The nurses and especially the anesthesiologist were so reassuring and I truly feel like they care about the patients. I am a day post op and cannot wait for when I am healed. I would highly recommend this office for any cosmetic needs.
Neck lift and upper blepharoplasty - mostly happy with my results Neck Lift
6 months post-op
I am 5 months post op.I want to say my overall experience was good. I am mostly happy with my results. I think anytime you have a surgery, it is a risk.
When I went in for my pre-op appointment, the staff was so kind and friendly. The nurse was very sweet too. The overall wait was short. Dr. Baxter came in and I did feel a bit rushed in my questions I had. I did feel confident though in his ability to do my surgery.
The day of surgery went very well. I was a bit nervous and the nurse and anesthesiologist were very friendly and made me feel comfortable and calm.
After my surgery, Dr. Baxter came in for a minute or so. He told me everything went well and see him back in his office in a day or two. I did not get any aftercare intructions from him which I thought was a bit strange. Although I knew I would be back soon. When I came back in he asked me if I wanted the bandage to come off. I said yes, please. He checked my stitches and said he wants me to wear the bandage longer. Then he prescribed antibiotics and said just in case the area behind my left ear gets infected. However, he still did not tell me what I should be doing at home for aftercare.
The area did not get infected and I saw him again for another post-op appointment. He said it all was looking good. I had another appointment in a couple weeks to recheck my progress. This would have been my 6 week post-op. I accidentally missed this appointment. I only realized this when I checked my calendar that evening. I did not receive a phone call to reschedule or to say that I missed my appointment.
My upper blepharoplasty was a success. Looks great and healed nicely.
My neck lift looks pretty good overall.
I think Dr. Baxter is a kind and very professional surgeon. I felt comfortable with him doing my surgery.
My overall disappointment was the aftercare and his bedside manner.
Response from Dr. Richard Baxter, MD Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We do provide detailed written instructions for postoperative care at the pre-op visit, and our policy is that the recovery room nurse reviews aftercare instructions with the patient's caregiver before discharge. We also try to confirm every post-op appointment in advance. Glad you are happy with your results!
I Had a Wonderful Experience with Dr Baxter. Breast Implant Revision
1 month post-op
Dr Baxter was my initial Dr for my breast augmentation in 2008. Throughout the years I considered going bigger and had a couple consults with him and he was always caring and attentive, I decided to wait to change them. I came in for a complementary ultrasound in 2023 after seeing and feeling some changes in my breasts and suspecting a rupture which be confirmed. I decided to exchange my 420 mod profile silicone implants for 575 high profile silicone implants. Dr baxter was very patient in our appointments, I had a lot of questions. A few days prior to my operation I wanted to do slightly bigger implants (605) high profile silicone. Dr Baxter’s team overnighted my implants, they didn’t arrive on time for my surgery so they were willing to reschedule, luckily they arrived a hr later so we were able to keep the date and do the exchange. I was very impressed at their willingness to go above and beyond for my needs. So happy with the end result, I don’t think this experience could have gone any better and I am 100% happy with my new breasts. I would have plastic surgery with Dr Baxter again, I trust him completely.

This gave an emotional boost to my self-esteem and psyche Breast Lift
28 days post-op
I recently had a breast lift and a bit of liposuction done by Dr. R.Baxter. What I'm sure Dr. Baxter is unaware of, is how difficult and painful 2021 was for me. What I would like him to know, is that he has given me an emotional an heartfelt boost to my self-esteem and psyche. Along with some fat injections, a mass dose of confidence flowed in as well. I have a renewed sense of adventure, I am now far more comfortable dipping my toes into the dating pool and I am by far more excited about my job! How do you thank someone who has given one such a gift!
I can not end this note without a huge and very loud shout out to his staff for their professionalism and genuine care! I felt like I was hanging out with friends...

Worth Flying From CA - Artist w/Great Bedside Manner Breast Augmentation
4 days post-op
I am going to write this review of my breast augmentation journey with Dr Baxter from the get go.
HELPFUL FACTS: I’m black between 45-54; lost 40+ lbs which resulted in breast volume loss; athletic buildCONSULT: I actually found Dr Baxter doing research about animation deformity (AD). I had two other consults prior and didn’t really like the answers about AD. I read how he addressed this with a split muscle technique. I was blessed to come across his medical journal article (https://www.semanticscholar.or... ). I flew from CA to WA to meet with Dr Baxter for my consult after having a very pleasant initial meeting with him over Zoom. His demeanor and bed side manor puts you in the mind of your favorite uncle. I felt immediately comfortable with him. Let me add that I am black and of a generation that is still not totally comfortable with plastic surgery. One of his wonderful nurses, Nurse Lori, joined us in my consult and helped me try on sizers to better understand what my final results might look like. I asked him about the incision options, because of my skin color. He. Only does under the breast with split muscle. He looked at a previous surgery scar to see how I heal. He also explained that he stitches in 3 layers, with a final thread stitch that pulls the skin together leaving an even thin line. We decided on 310cc moderate. I forgot to take a picture in my top (Do that). I set my appointment for about two months out, his earliest opening. During that time I continued to agonize over my possible cup size (like it seems everyone does..lol). I talked to Nurse Lori over the phone a few times. His team is super supportive and really wants you to love your end result. I asked if I could get a bit more volume because I was currently a 34A and wanted to get to a solid 34C; but still look natural. He reviewed my measurements and recommended 345cc full profile. It would be more round at the top but not super high. I was still not sure. Nurse Lori said she would prepare both options and we could do 3D imaging during my pre-op.
IN TOWN: I flew in 3 days early and picked up my prescription. I stayed at Homewood Suites because they have a full kitchen. This is important to eat healthy and watch sodium. If you are traveling give yourself extra days before to run around and get healthy food and other stuff for your recovery. I will stay 9 days post-op. Started arnica supplements 3 times a day and Bromelain twice a day.
PRE-OP: My Pre-op appointment was great the day before surgery we did the 3D Vectra to check out what the 345cc Full Profile would look like and it was all good. The Nurses liked it and so did I. My hubby was also cool with it, so I went with it. I went back to the hotel and got myself mentally ready, took pre-op meds. The anesthesiologist, Charles Darling, called me to get information on my medical history and introduce himself. Dr Baxter’s entire team is all about making the patient feel comfortable and safe. I had the fam praying for me because I was so worried about being in great pain after.
SURGERY DAY 0: I had more pre-op meds(Gabapentin) to take before driving to the surgery center. When I arrived everything was ready for me to change and another wonderful nurse Tabitha was also there to greet me with Nurse Lori. We took my before pics and it was off to get me a rack, HA! I was more nervous about the IV (super scared of needles). Nurse Tabitha held my hand and distracted me and it was all done before I could blink. Charles was great and really put me down so smooth. He has the most chill personality. I remember talking about Fiji and then Nurse Tabitha waking me up to get dressed. I guess I made it to the hotel but have little idea how…lol. The rest of the day was a fog of in and out of sleep and meds. I was super nauseous and threw up twice. I wasn’t sure if it was the meds or coming off anesthesia. I did get up and walk per instructions and do deep breathing. My hubby nurse was so attentive . I felt nothing at all like I did not have surgery. Dr Baxter uses ERAS method with Experal, which minimizes post-op pain and need for opioids. Trust and believe it works! I did not need the Percocet only took 2 Extra Strength Tylenol(6 hrs) and Gabapentin(12 hrs) . Dr and Anesthesiologist called to check on how I was doing.
DAY 1: Still did not really feel much pain. I got rinse free bath sponges (Scrubzz) which are awesome when you can’t shower. Able to go to Safeway and buy groceries. My hubby is one of those people that can walk every aisle so we were there for some time and I felt fine. Also did more walking around the hotel floor. I took a peak at the girls and sent my sister a pic…lol. I was able to eat more and sleep well. Still felt very little pain. No more nausea. Still taking Gabapentin and Tylenol. No need for Percocet. I was up making a burger for dinner, felt like myself. Continued arnica 3 times a day and Bromelain twice a day.
DAY 2: I woke up early like 5 AM. I felt discomfort for the first time. I actually checked to see if it was time for Tylenol. I got up and walked around my hotel room and felt a little better. I took Tylenol and Gabapentin at the normal times. The most pain I have felt so far; but more like sore ribs and how muscles hurt after overdoing a workout. Stay on top of the deep breathing. More rib soreness today. Kinda like someone punched you a few times…lol. I went to the mall and to see a movie also walked around to do a bit of retail therapy. I honestly can’t believe how uneventful this surgery was. I feel great other than minor discomfort. Anxious to get back to my workouts; because the hotel has a really nice gym. I know I have a couple of weeks…so just looking. Continued arnica 3 times a day and Bromelain twice a day.
DAY 3: Woke up back to minor discomfort. I was told the pain would go up to peak at day 2 and back down and that seems to be the case. More walking the hotel floor. I got stitches out today which stung a little. Stitches are a bit tender but not much discomfort. I can shower now. My breasts are sitting very high but they look really symmetrical; I had slight asymmetry so I was glad to see that did not increase. I had an optional crescent lift if needed; but did not thankfully. Dr Baxter said outcome was as expected and breasts look good. He also told me I could play pool; but keep my heart rate under 90 for the week. I will see him again in 4 days. I fly back home in six. Continued arnica 3 times a day and Bromelain twice a day. Breast still feel engorged like full of milk. I can’t wait until they settle into place in a few months! I will update you all then and hope my story was helpful.
Updated on 9 Nov 2021:
I am adding a pic of my progress at 2 weeks. They are dropping; but I have a long way to go. My patience is truly being tested. I think I look at these things every 2 hours. I am right handed so my right is dropping faster. I had a slight asymmetry that I kept because I wanted to retain some part of myself. The past week has been interesting with nerves healing. I am feeling more muscle pulling; not painful just annoying. I also have some zingers, super sensitive nipples, stitches itching a little. My tape has not fallen off yet but it is starting to peel. The muscle pulling seems to be moving down which I hope is a good sign of dropping. I have not felt any depression or regret. I do feel like I am in this picky phase and just super worried about the final result. I was going to get Moderate profile; but was worried about not getting to a C so I went with Full to get a bit more volume. Dr Baxter was still very conservative with cc so I am hoping my final result is not too full in the upper pole. I hope my progress tracking helps someone have patience.

No More Animation Deformity! Breast Implant Revision
26 days post-op
I saw Dr. Baxter for a revision to a previous breast augmentation performed by another surgeon a year ago that had left me with an awful animation deformity. Even small movements caused my breasts to suck in and look so weird. Dr. Baxter and his staff assured me that he could fix it - and he did! I'm about a month out now and so happy with my decision. I feel much more confident in my skin - the way I had expected to feel after my initial procedure. The recovery protocol had me up and moving and feeling back to normal in just a few days. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Baxter if you need a revision.
Life changing breast revision - each week the results seem to be getting better and better Breast Implant Revision
27 days post-op
I went in for a breast revision after three years post my initial surgery with another doctor.. I am so happy with the results so far. Each week the results seem to be getting better and better. I went from sub muscular to subfacial with pocket repair, galaflex mesh, crescent lifts, and swapped my 335cc responsive implants for 365 soft touch implants. Thank you dr Baxter!
Happy and Confident Breast Augmentation
3 months post-op
I had the privilege of seeing Dr Baxter for my breast augmentation with lift. Dr Baxter and his entire staff are so professional and comforting from beginning to end. I am so happy with my results. The recovery was so much easier than I ever had imagined it would be too. I believe it was so because of the way dr Baxter performs this procedure. I would 100% do this all over again.
6 Weeks Post Face/neck Lift and Breast Explantation/mastopexy About 6 weeks ago, I had my face and neck lift, and a bilateral breast explantation with mastopexy. I had extensively researched plastic surgeons in my area and selected Dr. Baxter as my surgeon. From the moment I started this journey at Dr. Baxter's office, I was treated with respect, kindness, and professionalism. The office was following strict Covid protocols as expected. Everyone I came into contact with was great. My surgery went well - my anesthesia provider took great care of me as well. I could not be happier with my experience or my results!
