B/C cup - can liposuction increase breast size post-op?

Question

I had a breast reduction a few years ago and was delighted to return to a size B cup small C . I am considering liposuction to abdomen and flanks but heard this might result in breasts getting bigger. I am thrilled with my new breasts and do not want then to enlarge even by a cup size. My friend said this would be a risk factor. Is he right?

Dear Foursons4, there is nothing about having liposuction that gives you a bigger cup size. It may create the illusion of your breasts being larger if your tummy/torso is smaller but your bra cup size will not change from having liposuction. Best wishes!!

What your plastic surgeon and your friend are referring to is the perception that liposuction of the abdomen can make the breasts appear larger. By making the abdomen smaller, the breasts may seem larger in proportion. It's not that liposuction has been performed on the breasts, but rather on the abdomen. By making the abdominal wall smaller, the breasts may appear larger. Therefore, if your abdomen and flanks bother you, I would recommend proceeding with the liposuction. Liposuction to the abdomen and flanks would not make your breasts bigger, rather you're breasts will appear bigger since the liposuction will reduce the size of your abdomen and flanks. I have never seen liposuction in one part of the body "make" another part look bigger. If you make new fat, it may deposit more easily in a place that hasn't been previously scarred down. Unfortunately there is no way to predict where or control where fat deposits form-small amounts of weight gain make the existing fat cells bigger; larger weight gain results in production of additional fat. Perhaps your friend was referring to a relative change in proportions (making the abdomen smaller makes the breasts look bigger)? Regardless, have a consultation with a well reputed plastic surgeon and share your concerns with him/her as well. Good luck!

Liposuction to the abdomen and flanks will not increase your breast size.   You will notice that your abdomen and flanks are smaller, however your breasts and bra size will not change.

Liposuction of the abdomen and sides does NOT affect breast size in any manner.  While the belly getting smaller MSY make the breasts look larger, they do not change.  
Some patients may experience breasts enlarging with weight gain post liposuction, but that is a risk with or without the procedure.

Having a little section of your abdomen, would that make your breast larger. If you gain weight after liposuction, then all areas that have fat person size and this represents weight gain. Breasts do you have that in them so if you gain weight your breath will become larger proportional to where you carry body fat.
You don’t gain weight, recognizing that you may lose a couple pounds with Liposuction you breasts should not be affected.
