Answer: Recovery Each surgeon has her/his own protocol with the use of compression and other devices after surgery. Some recommend massage and some don't. If you are unsure about your surgeon's opinion I encourage you to ask questions to better understand the perspective. That will allow you to make a more informed decision. It is important that you feel comfortable and confident as you prepare for surgery.

Answer: Liposuction The foams and ab boards are not necessary with a good compression garment, and sometimes those things will leave indentations. Instead of listening to "a lot of girls" who are not medical experts, listen to your surgeon.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear unknownlux, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
