Answer: Lipo addresses fat, but not necessarily skin excess Hi 2trilll4u, This is a common question…will liposuction alone address my concerns? Liposuction as a way to remove excess fat, from the areas in which it is not wanted. Consideration of the overlying skin is important in any liposuction procedure. In women with poor quality or stretched out skin, liposuction can create an appearance of skin excess, as the previously stretched out skin does not have the elastic capacity to recoil when the fat is removed. While it is challenging to say from your photos, the lateral photo suggest that you have stretch marks below the bellybutton. Stretch marks skin often has poor elasticity, and would not be expected to tighten well after liposuction. Stated differently, your surgeon is probably suggesting an extended abdominoplasty because the optimal treatment for the stretched out skin is removal, as opposed to expecting it to recoil after liposuction alone. I would definitely suggest rediscussion with your surgeon prior to surgery. Hope this helps. Hope this helps. Answer: Tummy tuck and bbl Thank you for your question. Looking at the photos you have provided I think the best procedure would be a tummy tuck. This will allow your Surgeon to tighten up the abdominal wall muscles which have been stretched out with pregnancies, remove the extra skin and give you the flattest belly. Some Surgeons will liposuction a little bit of the flank area which at that point you can use that fat for the BBL part. If you would like to liposuction the inner thigh slightly that always helps with giving some additional fat for the BBL. If you choose to just do liposuction of the abdomen and flank, you would still stick out on the abdomen area. You will get some skin retraction but it won't get rid of all the potential extra skin. I would suggest speaking to your Surgeon in depth about what your goals are and following their recommendations.
