I did a surgery with doctor Mat Hagstrom in March 2023. I was following the doctor’s work for sometime (almost a year), and did more than one online consultation with him. In March 2023, my work needed me to travel to the US and thought it's an opportunity to actually do the surgery with him. Just before booking the surgery date I learnt from the clinic that the doctor's license is under probation as he was undergoing a substance abuse program, but after asking some questions and talking to them I felt more confident. I was still anxious to be honest about doing it with him but still was also desperate to do this surgery. Anyway I traveled and went through the whole surgery alone, which was hard but it was doable. I booked a nurse through a contact the clinic provided. The nurse took me from the clinic to the hotel after the surgery and I wanted her to stay with me for 4 hours at least that day, but they told me she stayed for 6 hours eventually (I was unconscious the whole time so don't actually know for how long she stayed tbh). She did also visit the next 3 days, helped me change, helped remove my garment so I can take a shower, and also helped me wash it. The 3 days after the surgery were terrible. I wasn't able to sleep at all, I was in PAIN all the time and the pain killers prescribed didn’t do anything really. It was really intense and bad. The worst part was getting in and out of bed, I think having a high bed would have helped or maybe something to lean to, it was hard to do it by my self. I was much better on day 4, my recovery was pretty quick, and flew back home on the 5th day after seeing the doctor one more time (of course I flew business otherwise I don't think it's doable flying economy for 16 hour flight after the surgery). The thing I’m not thrilled about is the result of the surgery. When the doctor saw me in person for a consultation he said I shouldn’t expect a big size because of my breast size, but that was only one day before the surgery (disadvantage of flying from overseas for the surgery) so it was kind of too late for me to change my mind, also I still wanted to take my chances. The doctor was able to put around 400cc on the right side and 450cc on the left side. I think my breast size now has increased by about 10% I still have marks showing in my body, some are barely noticeable and some are still visible. I haven’t done any treatment to reduce their appearances, If I do laser treatment I’m sure they will be better 3 months ago I noticed a hard lump on the left side of my upper left breast (still considered breast tissue area). “Within the area of clinical concern at 1:00 position 12 cm from the nipple lies a superficially located palpable oil cyst measuring 6 x 6 x 5 mm. It shows no vascularity on Doppler assessment. Hypoechoic scattered cysts noted within the heterogeneously dense breast tissue.” This is copied from the report of the ultra sound test I made. The lump is not noticeable at all when you look at this area of my body, but I was able to feel it that night while I passed my finger around it. Overall, although still not happy with my breast size, not sure if I want to do this again, especially if the results will be (give or take), the same and not at least one bra size bigger. I don’t think it’s worth the cost of it and the effort, especially for international patients If anyone wants to do this surgery I certainly recommend Dr Matt and elite clinic in Sacramento, as everything went ok, but just be cautious that the results might be disappointing. I know that’s not the doctor fault of course but also most of the reviews for here showed great results for the patients, (and for some reason I thought it will also work for me if it worked with everyone else), so just wanted to say that it’s not for everyone.
A huge thank you to DR. MATS HAGSTRÖM! He did such an amazing job. I had a full upper body fat transfer to chest (Up a cup). Before the procedure I weighed about 133lbs and wore a 34B bra size. I now wear a very full 36C. Originally, I thought I did not have enough body fat to get the procedure. After my consultation Dr. Hagström reassured me that I had enough body fat to successfully have the procedure. At the Dr recommendation, I had fat taken from all around my upper body so that way I would still look proportion when gaining weight. The procedure cost me about $18,000 but that will all depend on your body type and the type of procedure you want and also when you get it. Sometimes the have deals and payment plans. On average the procedure about 20,000+. You’ll discuss all that during your consultation. The entire staff was very welcoming, professional, and informative. I know some people may be squeamish at the idea of being awake during the procedure but it flies by pretty fast and you don’t feel any pain just mild tugging. It’s definitely well worth the results. The staff makes sure you have someone to pick you up after because you’ll be sore and mildly drugged and can not drive yourself. Make sure you have a comfortable place with towels and pads (like puppy pads) to lay on the area that you will be sitting when you get home. You will go home wearing a foam board under your compression suit and a compression bra. I’d recommend buying another compression suit and bra on Amazon so you can wash one while you wear one. And definitely buy extra foam boards because they will get a little oozed up right after the procedure. They will also stuff a couple of Maxi pads in your compression suit to help soak up the draining. They give you all the detailed instructions before your procedure. You will have to have someone help wash you after 2 days when you can finally take the compression suit off for the first time. You’ll be very sore, stiff, and swollen for the first couple of days so just take it easy. Don’t be alarmed if your labia is dark, swollen and sore, that’s just happening because a lot of the fluids are settling down there due to gravity it will go back to normal eventually. The first week your body will be sore but it gets much easier as the weeks pass. I’m 31 years old so I think I healed up pretty fast. I definitely recommend the procedure especially because it’s not so invasive. I researched all of my options for a long time. I did not want to get breast implants because I was so afraid of breast implant illness. And I did not want to take so long to heal and carry a draining bag around that comes with traditional liposuction. This procedure is the newest technology and does have pretty quick downtime compared to the other two options. If you’re interested in getting it done in the Roseville Ca area, I definitely recommend choosing Dr. MATS HAGSTRÖM as your surgeon. My results can be a testament to that. Lastly, remember that you’re so beautiful and unique, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with styling your body to look the way that you want it to by having any cosmetic procedure done. Good luck and always do your own research.
I am so excited! I had my consultation with Dr. Mats Hagstrom and I was so impressed. I know he is who I want to go to for my BBL surgery. He told me even with just Lipo I would have great results. I don't want a huge booty, but I figure I might as well put some of my fat to good use! I can't wait! My consult with him was so much better than my first experience and I'm so excited, he answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. I will update and Piet pictures each step of the way! Updated on 16 Jan 2021: I had my BBL 4 days ago, and I am so happy! The transformation Dr. Hagström did is amazing! Chloe, my nurse the day of surgery was absolutely the best. She was so kind and patient and I felt like I was with friends. The surgery was done with local anesthesia and I was surprised at how easy it was for me. I have been told that I have a high pain tolerance and so I know other people's experiences may differ from mine, but the only discomfort I recall was an occasional pinch. I'm really happy I chose Dr. Hagström and the local anesthesia. I have always had surgeries with general anesthesia and this was by far a more pleasant experience. I was chit-chatting with Chloe and Dr. Hagström or dozing off. It was great because you are apart of the journey and you can ask questions throughout the procedure. Dr. Hagström took his time and was very detailed in the way he sculpted my body. I am so happy and I urge anyone looking for a Dr. for body contouring to consult with him. He is honest, kind, and truly is amazing at what he does. His office manager Darin is very responsive and kind as well. Updated on 8 Feb 2021: The recovery has been very easy, minimal bruising which was prettt much gone by week 2. The hardest part was sleeping on my stomach.
Dr. Hagstrom took the time to offer me a free consultation online, and was very straightforward and kind -- he told me that there is no current procedure that effectively addresses my area of concern, and in fact he specifically recommended NOT pursuing the most common and expensive treatment (liposuction), as the results would likely be disappointing. He was honest enough to turn away a potential client, and I very much appreciate that!
I felt very “boxy” my whole life and always wanted to be REALLY curvy. I knew I wanted to do a fat transfer to my butt and hips. I didn’t want to do anything extremely invasive and couldn’t afford more than a month of down time so I found Dr. Hagstrom when coming across Elite Body Structure. Immediately he was honest with me and said my more aggressive goals could not be reached in 1 surgery, but I had just the right amount of “fluff” to change my shape in a fat transfer. I appreciated the input and still wanted to proceed as I felt in GREAT hands. I ended up doing a fat transfer of my whole back & stomach to my butt. The experience itself as well as the recovery was NOT what they show on Elite Body Sculpture advertisements. It’s bearable, but highly uncomfortable, I was asking for more numbing and pain medication throughout. You are basically being jabbed over and over with a metal rod and develop soreness in the session that makes the end more painful. It felt long but the excitement helps you get through the pain too! The fat removal was the worst but the fat transfer to the butt was much better as there was less poking but more placing. The recovery was PAINFUL. I felt like I was literally hit by a bus. Everything hurt like this for 4 days. I tried to minimize movement and basically laid on my stomach for 4 days straight trying to sleep while time passes. Day 4 you feel A bit less sore but when I went to shower I saw I was completely bruised and purple on my whole stomach and back. This made sense why it felt like my ribs were broken. BUT this is totally normal and Dr. Hagstrom answered all of worried calls and questions assuring me nothing I’m seeing is abnormal. About 3 weeks out I was finally feeling normal. Walking naturally, stretching, looking a little less swollen and really happy with what I was seeing so far. Fast forward 6 month post op, my results are solid and permanent and I feel 1000% !! I finally saw that hourglass figure I dreamt of...BUT as I originally planned for, I wanted to plan my second surgery for more drastic results! Since I was so comfortable with Dr. Hagstrom I planned my second surgery at his personal practice which was closer to my home. In pre op, I shared more of my goals and really stressed that I wanted a small waist and bigger butt and hips. Dr. Hagstrom gave me confidence that this can be achieved this time around as I now was adding arms, thighs, back and stomach to my Butt fat transfer. I felt better this time knowing it will be painful but it helped to have expectations. MIDDLE of my surgery Dr. Hagstrom was telling me how well my body was taking to lipo the second time around and was so excited about the curve he was creating in my waist! I was so happy as he has been brutally honest since day 1 so I knew my goals were going to be met. The recovery seemed a bit better and shorter this time around. Fast forward to now, almost 7 months post op and I have never felt sexier. I literally have the body and curves i never thought I could. I feel healthy and happy and so thankful for TWO great experiences with such an amazing and comforting doctor. The best part is he told me not to go round 3 even if I wanted to, ha! Honestly like this is why I trust him with my complete health and safety. Dr. Hagstrom was even thoughtful in the placement of the lipo tools to give me minimal scarring!!! I can not get over how impressed I am with this whole thing, still... Worth every penny and worth the tough painful days early on.
I felt it was only right of me to write a review after being so inspired and impressed by the incredibly open and vulnerable members of RealSelf who shared their stories. I have chunked out my experience into research, pre-op, surgery and post-op phases. Research I have struggled with my shape my whole life. I have been very slender and I have been at healthy weight or even a little overweight at times throughout my life but the key stubborn pockets of fat on my stomach never ever budged they only got worse. I have struggled with clothing having a stomach that is out of proportion with everything else. This was exacerbated by my small breasts that, even when I gained weight, remained small and made me look even more out of proportion. And when i lost weight, my breasts totally disappeared and made me lose a lot of confidence. Pre surgery I was 5ft 7 and 150 pounds. I'd had no children and am 28 years old. I completed 4 x consultations with Board certified plastic surgeons in my area and decided to go ahead with Dr. Mats, because like me - he is very pragmatic. I liked that Dr. Mats said that he thought I was a very good candidate but not a great one and then explained the reasons why. He set expectations very well with what was possible and what was not. Comparatively, other consultations just focused more on the positives of the experience I would have and what the expected results would be. I think both approaches are fine, but I personally resonate more with upfront honesty and expectation setting. I also hate to talk on the phone and liked that Dr. Mats was a detailed email and texter - providing quality information without it feeling like a sales call. I chose to have Liposuction on my full torso and arms as well as a fat transfer to the breast. I was nervous about the fat transfer but felt like I would have regrets if i didn't do the procedure. Pre-op I purchased the following items pre-op: 1. Spare Faja, 2. puppy pads, 3. gauze and tape, 4. moisture absorbent sheet and mattress protector. I definitely needed all four things and would encourage people to buy these + absorbent (sanitary) pads. Five days before my surgery I also absent-mindedly took ibuprofen for a headache I had despite the pre-op instructions saying not to take for 10 days prior. I was fine and went ahead with the procedure, but it means that my bruising was probably a little more severe than others. Please don't forget like I did ladies! Surgery My procedure was at 9am, we started with a pregnancy test and then proceeded to take before pictures. The first few hours of the surgery were fine and went by with a lot of discomfort but not serious pain - i was chatting away with Dr Mats! But about half-way through, the pain really kicked in. I consider myself a tough person, but this was NOT easy. I knew it would be painful but this was much harder than i expected. Honestly, i read these same sentiments on RealSelf before and thought i was just tougher than others but like honestly - this surgery is not for the faint of heart and you are putting your body through so much! Like an earth-wrom crawling under your skin and eating your fat - graphic i know, but seriously!! Anyway, the wonderful nurse Yuki gave me a stress ball which was really helpful and often held my feet (which was very comforting). Yuki and Dr Mats felt like my cheerleaders throughout the procedure and I was glad to have them be so positive and supportive. A weird sensation I had was the feeling of being incredibly tired but also in incredible pain that won't let you sleep. Often times I wanted to cry but i grimaced and got through it. For me, the arms and sides (flanks) were the toughest parts. I found the breast fat transfer like a breeze after the lipo was done. There was discomfort but it was like a welcome break to the liposuction. Altogether I had 800ccs put into each breast. I was NOT expecting this much & neither was Dr. Mats, but my breast tissue could just handle it. My breasts were HUGE when leaving the clinic and i was totally out of it. I i felt dizzy, had loss of vision and was really tired. I couldn't have done it without my brothers in law who came to pick me up and my sister who had my bed all set up and ready for me to come home. I felt very nauseous in the car home as well. Post surgery The first day was hell. I was so sore, I could barely move and everything hurt. I started to notice that my boobs were incredibly red and getting redder as the day progressed. I hadn't seen that before on real-self so I texted Dr Mats and sent images (attached) and he responded right away. I had an allergic reaction to Clindamycin which they use to clean the fat before they do the transfer. This is quite uncommon and I didn't know I was allergic to it before the surgery. Mats asked me for many other symptoms i might have been experiencing like swelling in the mouth, trouble breathing or itchyness on the breast skin - none of which i was experiencing. After 3 days my breasts returned to normal colour with bruising. But, it was a serious shock, especially since my boobs were HUGE at that point as well i thought they were so swollen they were going to burst! The next 3 days were absolute hell hard to move, sore everywhere. Sitting up and going to the toilet were the hardest. I experienced dizziness when taking my first shower and lots and lots of fluid loss.I couldn't have done this without the help of my family who looked after me. By day 4 i was feeling better and went back to work (desk job) but by 2pm i was so tired i had to take the rest of the afternoon off. The days after that got easier and easier and by the week mark i was feeling a lot better and had a lot more mobility back. However from the week mark onwards i started to get ITCHY and its so hard not to scratch haha especially as all the wounds are healing. My boobs are still huge - at this point they are wayyyy to big for my ideal and im praying they decrease in volume, which i'm sure they will. They gradually get softer and a little smaller each day as they settle. Now, I'm 13 days post-op and just had my first post-op appt this week. Dr Mats has urged me not to judge my results as they are today - so I'm still unsure of how i am really going to look and do feel very nervous about the outcome. But overall the experience so far has been great and I am just trusting in the process. I must admit, my arms have really shrunk so far and i have noticed that difference instantly in clothes and even in my garment over the 2 weeks. The one small complaint i have is I hate the placement of the scar on my right boob. I wish it wasn't placed inside my cleavage, but lower and under my boob. But at the end of the day, the Dr has to place it where he thinks he will get the best result so i don't begrudge Dr Mats for that at all. Overall, very happy with where I'm at and the experience so far. I would recommend Dr Mats highly, he cares about his patients and is continually looking to improve his work for best results. Looking forward to writing another update at 3 months and sharing my progress. Updated on 19 Jun 2020: Updated on 5 Oct 2020: 3 months since my surgery and I’ve definitely got highs, mids and lows. I think the highs are definitely my boobs. The shape is amazing and I really love them. I went up 2 x cup sizes from an A to a C cup. I was in the fence about breast fat transfer and my best friend told me to go for it - and like most things she was right! They look amazing and I feel so confident. I think they are much much bigger than I expected, like there is a very noticeable difference which wasn’t actually what I initially discussed or expected as I thought I would only go up one size but overall, I’ve got great boobs now and I love them so I ant complain at all!!! I think my mids are that I still have a little fat pouch on my stomach. I know that my stomach was particularly disproportionate to my shape but I think we all hope it will be flat with liposuction. The difference between where I was before surgery and where I am today is honestly phenomenal and I am very very happy but I do wish the little pouch just wasn’t there! I’m way more confident than I ever was before. But I think we do all hope for that dream stomach and It didn’t totally flatten as I’d wished so while I can wear bikinis for the first time in my life - I’m not comfortable in having photos taken in them. Still working on some body acceptance I guess. I also think my arms are a mid as they definitely fit better in shirts / clothing but I still don’t feel like they look “skinny” or as I’d hoped or imagined. My lows are my waist measurements did not change. I was hoping to have more of a cinched waist after the procedure but this didn’t change at all and I was a little disappointed about this. I still get a little fat roll there which is a shame! I also have some scarring and am working with creams etc at the moment in hopes they will clear up. I’m working now with a personal trainer and hopefully I can start to just lose the rest of my weight more naturally! My measurements before were: waist 31, stomach pouch 41, breasts 36, hips 38 My measurements after are: waist 31, stomach pouch 38, breasts 39, hips 38
11 days post op, I've decided I have enough info to start my review of this experience. My tummy was truly perfect most of my life, but about 4 years ago it just started getting out of control. Hormones, thyroid meds, nothing has helped. I trained and ran my 5th marathon last year, and even through that I gained weight. I'm 5'10, historically weighed about 169, but weighed in at 188 the weekend before surgery. I know if I'm still gaining weight then there is no point in getting lipo, so I waited to see if I could keep my weight stable for 3 months before I went ahead and took this plunge. Dr. H did my full tummy, armpits, bra roll, flanks, and low back. I was awake for the procedure, as are all his patients, and it was fine. Yes, I could feel it, and yes, a couple times it went from uncomfortable to actual pain. That's okay, he backed off and gave me a break the (I think) 3-4 times I asked him. For the most part, we chit-chatted about relationships, kids, life in general, and I even told a joke at one point during the procedure. It was fine--not a picnic, of course, but better than general anesthesia as far as I'm concerned. Here are my general observations/suggestions so far: 1. Since I came in from out of town, me and hubs got a room at the Hotel Vertigo, which is about a block away. We walked back to the hotel after my procedure. Very convenient. Left a bit of a mess behind (bloody puppy pads from #2), so left a note of apology and a $100 tip for the housekeeping staff. Manager called me the day after I checked out to thank me (!) and to inquire as to whether I was okay from my surgery and satisfied with the accommodations. How nice is that? 2. I know a lot of people recommend a shower curtain to protect your car/furniture, but we found the "puppy pads" were a better option for me. Easy to swoop into the trash and replace; I can't imagine having to clean off the shower liner when changing out linens. Yuck! 3. Seeing so many reviews (of liposuction, not of my doc specifically) where people talk about feeling like they didn't get results, I did a couple things that will help me know if this was a success even if I continue beating myself up when I look in the mirror. (And ladies--can we please stop doing this to ourselves? If anyone figures out how, let me know!) First, I took my measurements in all the places I was concerned about so I can track my progress that way. Second, I took pics, of course. Third, I have an electronic body fat measuring doodad I bought on Amazon, and I used it the morning of my surgery. 4. I would describe the recovery process as "excruciating discomfort". I didn't need pain meds beyond ibuprofen, but I was absolutely really uncomfortable. Day 1 wasn't that bad, but things got worse on days 2 & 3, stayed about that bad for days 4-5, then slowly started to be a little, tiny bit better every day thereafter. Day 8 was the first day where I really started to feel like there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I think the thing that's really tough is not knowing how long you're going to feel so crappy, so I wanted to give anyone out there in the beginning of this some hope. Yes, you will still be moving slow, feeling all sorts of weird things going on with your body, and have a hard time getting up and down, but if you're anything like me you'll be exponentially better on day 10 than you were on day 7. Hang in there! 5. I was able to drive on day 2, but it was pretty miserable getting in and out of the car. I'm lucky enough to work from home whenever I want, and I was fine to sit at my desk and work pretty much right away. Going to an office would have been miserable for me in the first week, but totally do-able after that. I suppose everyone is different. 6. So many women have mentioned wearing their garments for as long as 3 months post op. I can't imagine, ugh. I wore it 24/7 for the first week, and now I'm wearing it half time only. I also got some cheapo garments from Amazon (search "fajas"); they aren't as high quality, and not as breathable, but they work nicely as backups. And they're like $20. Especially nice if you're uncomfortable after your shower on day 2 and waiting for your garment to be washed and dried. I went to the theater on day 6 and needed something a little less bulky for under my dress. I got a really cute garment that zipped up the middle (front) instead of the side, removable straps, and it was a thong bottom. Me and hubs had a good laugh because he actually found it sexy. :) Don't get anything without a zipper, because trust me when I say you won't be sliding anything tight over any areas where you had work done. No. Freaking. Way. 7. Speaking of sexy, someone else posted that she had sex on day 4, and I really appreciated that info because I would have thought it would be impossible, but I was wrong. Just put your partner on his/her back, climb on board, and let the fun begin. Yes, Miss Kitty was a bit swollen, lol, but a good time was had by all. 8. Don't weigh or measure yourself too soon unless you understand (as I did) that things are likely to look worse before they get better. I've been about 2-3 pounds up since the surgery, and while two of my measurements are down about an inch (under armpits and just under breasts), most of them are the same or up (as of day 10) by about an inch. I can tell I'm very swollen, though, so no worries here. 9. The best way I can describe the pain/discomfort would be to say it feels like the soreness you get when you worked out WAY too hard while you also have a really bad sunburn. Basically if you stay still you'll be okay, but moving around or being touched is pretty awful. Again, it gets worse for a few days and then is gradually better every day thereafter. That's all I have for now. I'll update with more info/pics around the 1 month mark, or sooner if I'm seeing significant progress before that. Updated on 14 Nov 2019: Okay, three months in and I'd say I'm mostly healed. My abdomen is still itchy sometimes, and I definitely still have a little swelling (everything is a bit bigger at night than it is in the morning, so I'd call that swelling). My measurements have reduced as follows: Under armpits: 1 1/2 inches Under breasts: 1 3/4 inches Above bottom rib: 2 inches Small of waist: 2 1/2 inches At bellybutton: 5 inches (!!!) Just above swimsuit waistband: 3 1/4 inches When I took my pics this morning, I questioned if things really look much different. Then I opened them up next to the before photos and had a serious change of heart. I'm really, really pleased with my results. I have a small dent on the left side just above the line of my swimsuit bottom, and it's still kind of bruised there. (I don't think it really showed up in the pics, and I didn't try hard to make that happen.) Maybe it will go away, maybe it won't, but it's still just a big improvement overall, so I'm not complaining. My biggest regret is probably that I didn't do my arms, so if you're on the fence about that, I recommend going for it. Dr. Hagstrom is awesome at what he does, and I can't imagine trusting anyone else with this procedure.
June 16, 2019 was my surgery day. Right from the batt when I contacted Dr Matts office on a Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2019 @ 2:06pm, I immediately got a phone call back and missed it but he then sent me a text message. We converse via texting and based on his answers to my questions, I get right away his sincerity and knowledge about the procedure. I really planned on having the procedure done when kids are off school during summertime. I had my free physical consult with him on April 23rd. I told him that I've yet to see 2 other doctors in the field but that didn't happen anymore because my gut is telling me that I'm already talking to the SF's FINEST. May 7th, I finalized everything with him and his amazing staff Darin. Dr Matts Hagstrom is the most straightforward plastic surgeon you'll ever meet, he doesn't promise, he doesn't under deliver, he's all about the truth and the outcome to help you with your decision. He has immense experience in the field. He explained everything to me clearly. His honesty is what I truly love about him that's why I chose him. He said "The best patients for Breast Fat Transfer are people who could benefit from liposuction in the first place and what the added benefit of some breast enlargement. The biggest drawback is the limit to how much bigger the breast can be made. The results from fat transfer look very natural. This means if a woman has droopy breasts to start with they will still be droopy after but larger. Be careful for people who show really amazing results. If pictures are taken early the results are way way bigger than what can be achieved long-term. You can get about a 50% increase in breast size for some possibly doubling the breast size. Going from a B cup to a D cup is not possible." Photos attached are the morning of my surgery. Updated on 18 Aug 2019: So sorry guys I am too slow for the update and really waited only this time to share my experience. Anyways, had my surgery on 6/16/2019, after 3 days, I am able to take off compression clothing per Dr Hagstrom’s order. Fat cells taken from abdomen (full), torso, armpit, and arms but not enough fats so inner thighs were targeted and voila I have so much fats in there. Woohoo! Overall fats taken from areas are about 780cc. Photos are taken 3 days after surgery. Lipo areas are still very swollen. I’m focus more on my breasts and will post photos of lipo 3 months post op which will be on 9/16/2019 Overall experience with Dr Hagstrom is AMAZEBALLS! I just love him! Updated on 18 Aug 2019: Breasts had gone down a little but I still love the volume of my new breasts. I said yes to breast fat transfer because it looks really natural, safe and no autoimmune disease that you’ll get from implants. Lipo areas especially abdomen and torso are still very tender. Did my own lymphatic massages and it helped a lot. Check out some YouTube vids for it. Things I am doing to make sure fat cells transferred stays - high carb diet, warm (not hot) compress 10-15min 2-3x a day, drinking a gallon of water and I am not wearing any tight bras. No physical activity for me for 4 weeks and this time I started my daily walks for 40min to an hour at the park. Gained some weight but that’s normal after having lipo surgery. Still not taking any photos of the lipo areas because it still looks swollen and per doctors advice “stay away from mirror” hahaha...and I did! Dr Hagstrom is da bomb! Updated on 18 Aug 2019: Breasts are still looking full and am loving my results. From an A cup to B cup or small C. Photo shown on top, I’m not wearing bra at all but you can see my cleavage. I love it! Lipo on full abdomen is still tender but I can feel pain is going away. One more month and I’ll have my 3 month post op appt with Mr Hagstrom. For exercise, I started taking yoga classes 3x a week. Not on high carb diet anymore, I lessened my carb intake now, still drinking lots of water and doing warm compress on breasts. This procedure for me is so worth it!!! Updated on 16 Jun 2020: After a year, still very happy and maintained a cup B. No more A’s for me. Volume Is still there even though I lost some weight because of my profession as a group fitness Instructor. Before my surgery I did my best to gain weight so Dr Hagstrom can harvest some fats on areas where he said he would take it. I would love to have another round of breast fat transfer to get a cup C but I would have to save some money for it. Lipo on inner things, torso, abdomen and armpit all completely healed. Still have the marks for lipo holes but I know in time those will all go away. Truly worth it than having breast implants.
Dr. Hagström is such a breath of fresh air in the field of cosmetic surgery, which is often business-dominated and driven by money. Dr. Hagström has specialized in doing lipo cases for over 15 years, so he unquestionably is an expert in this area. He is very thorough and takes his time when consulting with you, never rushing your questions or concerns. Most importantly, he is honest. He’s not after your money. I’ve asked to lipo certain areas and he told me I wouldn’t get a good result because of my skin quality in that area and that it would be a waste of my money. I really appreciate this quality about him. Other surgeons would have taken my request and ran with it. Overall, don’t look anywhere else. I’ve returned to Dr. Hagström twice because he’s that good at what he does and has an eye for artistry and body sculpture. He completely changed the shape of my body and the way I fit into clothes. He changed my weight distribution for the better in a natural and feminine way and I can’t thank him enough for it. Don’t fall for the doctors that over-advertise themselves on social media. Dr. Hagstrom’s work speaks for itself and he has gotten so much traction via just word-of-mouth that he honestly doesn’t even need social media! I drive almost 3 hours to see him! Updated on 29 May 2019: Dr. Hagstrom is not only easy to talk to himself, but so is his staff. There’s a full flow of positivity from the moment you walk in; from interacting with the office manager to the medical assistant and then finally with Dr. Hagstrom. Sometimes when you walk into elective cosmetic surgery, you feel like you don’t belong or are overwhelmed/frightened by the environment. NEVER the case here because everyone is so down-to-earth. Everyone there makes you feel calm and even knows how how to make you laugh; whether it’s in the waiting room and you’re talking to the cool staff OR when Dr. Hagstrom is literally doing a procedure on you...he’ll make you laugh and forget a procedure is even being done. You feel well taken of and treated with respect as a patient, always being given updates about your visit with Dr. Hagstrom and accommodated to the best of their ability. Professionalism, kindness and a priority for comfort for patients is apparent at Dr. Hagstrom’s clinic and warrants a review in of itself because your first interactions with the staff really set the tone for the remainder of your visit. I always enter and exit this clinic the same way- smiling!
Best experience ever!! I can say I actually enjoyed my procedure!! Doctor Hagstrom is the best plastic surgeon I've ever met. Loving my results, had full treatment on Friday and am back to work Monday. He did my arms, full abs and back. So Happy!!!! Going back for breast augmentation
Your abdomen is showing pregnancy related changes. There are four tissue variables that determine what the abdomen looks like. These are potential skin, laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies or excess visceral fat. I’m guessing your issues became evident after having pregnancies. It looks to me like you have more muscle separation as the primary issue rather than access subcutaneous fat. A tummy tuck primarily treats, skin laxity, and the muscle separation. Liposuction only treats excess subcutaneous fat. Your muscle wall is bulging so Liposuction isn’t going to get your abdomen flat the way you probably wanted to. If you wanna type flat, abdomen, a tummy tuck is probably going to be the better procedure. On a second note, delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. If you’re going to have Liposuction, you should be highly selective when it comes to providers. Poorly Liposuction can leave people permanently disfigured. The number of plastic surgeons who approach a mastery of Liposuction is unfortunately quite small. Best Mats Hagstrom MD
Your pictures are insufficient to make a good assessment. For a neck assessment we always need to see a profile picture. To me, your face looks fine and I don’t recommend having surgical intervention. And When doing Liposuction of this area, we don’t remove a lot of fat. It’s a finesse procedure not a debulking procedure. For that reason, VASER which is a very aggressive form of Liposuction is way overkill. Using VASER can lead to disastrous over treatment and irreversible disfigurement. Obviously that can happen with any equipment, but I see the worst cases of patients being overt treated using this particular device. If you’re going to have fat removal, it’s going to be very small amounts. That requires working with very gentle conservative equipment. Personally, I don’t see a good indication at all to remove fat from any part of your face. I’m also not a big fan of buccal fat removal because it tends to lead to long-term issues down the road. I am a big fan of Liposuction, and that is really what I specialize on exclusively. I also know that the number of plastic surgeons who really have mastery of Liposuction is quite small and when thing go wrong the outcome is generally irreversible. Be happy with what you have. You look great. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
Your situation is complex and I think you shouldRely exclusively on in person second opinion consultations. For second opinion, consultations come prepared to bringing with you a complete set of your previous medical records, including all before, and after pictures and copies of your operative report. Some improvements can always be made whether they justify having the procedure is another question. Any attempt and improving the outcome can potentially make things worse if you’re not in the hands of the right provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
To make a quality assessment we need a proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures, then ask your provider to forward the pictures they took. It looks like you may not have been an ideal candidate to have fat removed from this area. It would be helpful to know what your age is. Older people need subcutaneous fat to keep the skin looking decent. This is true, regardless of what form of fat removal is used. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of Kybella. I find the treatment to be inferior to Liposuction, inconsistent and causes way too much inflammation after the treatment. I think a big part of the problem is that you may not have been a good candidate for this procedure in the first place. Patients who are older than 50 years should probably be careful with having fat removed. That doesn’t mean it’s fine to do this if your 48 or it’s always wrong if you’re 52. Younger people do better with fat removal procedures because the skin has better elasticity. Correcting undesirable outcomes is often more difficult than primary procedures. I suggest you rely on in person consultations exclusively. If you wanted a better neck and surgery was probably going to be the best option in the first place. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
First informs the ability to liver, consistent quality Liposuction results, including the ability to make accurate assessments is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of this kind of work is in reality quite small. For that reason I would be highly selective when it comes to selecting a provider for permanent irreversible facial contouring procedures. If done poorly, Liposuction can easily leave people permanently disfigured. You don’t have a lot of subcutaneous fat to work with so the potential change is going to be settled. The primary variable determines what your face looks like is generally bone structure. This is more true for young people and with a low BMI even more so. I’m not sure chin and neck. Liposuction is going to get you the results you want. I suggest you have an in person meeting with your provider well in advance of your scheduled surgery. Bring a proper set of facial pictures with you to use as a reference during the discussion. Ask your provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of it before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics for the procedure you’re interested in. If your provider doesn’t have an impressive collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients, who look like you do in the before pictures then maybe skip on this one or talk to some other plastic surgeons. I wouldn’t gamble with this because if it goes wrong, it’s pretty bad. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
